For what it's worth I think that we should retain Winter's Discontent. I like having it as a logical finishing point for the year and I quite like the name. Samhain is a good name imo.
I feel that the Supercard names should be based upon the theme of the main event. Kinda like Ring of Honor did with Joe vs Kobashi and things like the Fallout Special: Rage in the Cage (pimping my own work here).

That was my point, but the people would ultimately vote on them.

You could be Australian for all I know. Technicaly if he was Australian he would be part British in some ways.

But seriously, Seven Deadly Sins is more than just a regular PPV. It wouldn't fit anywhere else but July since it plays on the month itself being the 7th month of the year. Overall, Seven Deadly Sins was pretty much a normal PPV which became a 7 Man Elimination PPV that killed the undercard - and then stopped becoming one. Samhain however, for some reason, has always been one of the staple PPVs of ACW. Some of the biggest matches and storylines in ACW have occurred at Samhain. Winter's Discontent is a great name for a December PPV also.

Really quick, Rep, Zero, i'll let you two get back to arguing, but I'd like to say one thing....
THE SUPERCARD/PPV SCHEDULE IDEA WAS MINE! I WAS JUST TOO LAZY TO CONTINUE UPON IT!
But yea, I like for Ragranok(sp? sue me I've been here for a month) a match that me and CP created, it's a multi man elimination match. Each elimination is different the first one must be through tables, then the second is a submission, and the third is pinfall. Sounds TNAish yes, but we made it work because it set up what could have been one of the best fueds in ECF.......

I think the most democratic suggestion to enter this topic is the one that I agree with. Everybody votes on which 6 (Or should that be 5, as we surely can't drop OE?) they prefer. I'm sure everybody has their favourites and as we can gather from this topic, some rate particular PPVs higher than others in terms of importance.
Personally, I'd prefer to keep Ragnarok, Genocide, OE, SDS, the November PPV and Winter's Discontent - but that's just my personal favourites. Nobody here should be claiming that theirs is the right choice or the best choice.
One other thing. While I wouldn't be sad to see EotR go as a PPV, I still think that a tournament should be kept as a yearly event, maybe compressing it into a single show instead of pointless NPC qualifiers. I also don't see why we have to stick to the formula of singles matches all the way through the bracket. Mixing it up with some Triple Threats and forced Tag Teams would create a lot of variety and interesting scenarios. (Those of you who remember my Inter-fed Tournament just before I joined here might remember how I had the Semi-Final scheduled as a Tag match - then I had to change it to a triple threat as Ridley pulled out >_<)
My 2 pence

I agree with Torak And I'm also sorry to Ben. Didn't notice your schedule for some reason but it's by far the most logical schedule going. Even keep the PPV names for said PPVs you've got (save for Heatwave, since the majority says it's crap). But yeah, I didn't see your idea. I guess great minds think alike.

Meh. They are all variations on mine with added Supercards =(. I do think we need to come up with a new December PPV name though as Genocide simply doesn't fit there (and is the one thing bothering me about my altered schedule after the FH-swap), and Winter's Discontent is just too...emo (I mean discontent means 'a longing for something better than the present situation' for crying out loud). That and it makes me think of 'My December' which really is never a good thing.
I'm up in the air about Heatwave...yeah it's a cliche name and was used by ECW, however it's nowhere near as bad as Winter's Discontent IMO. I still think we should keep a champion named PPV (or at least a super card if we are going to use them), as that idea has always been really cool. So in short, change one of them (Heatwave or WD) to a champion named one and let's figure out a new name for the other one an call it a day.
EDIT: A few names came to me in place of Heatwave...they would be Conflagration, Dead Heat, and Melting Point. Still not sure what the hell to do with WD though...rename it Absolute Zero or something? ;D

Winter's Discontent might be bad*, but really. Omega Effect is an awful name. One of the worst I've ever heard of in the e-fed land. ACW pretty much unanimously agreed this like back in late 2004. But we kept it. Not saying we should keep WD, but I think it's been such a staple that there's no harm at all in keeping it. I mean really, I doubt anybody's refused to join a fed on the account of their PPV names.
*For the record, I like the Winter Discontent name. Yeah you may say it's emo, but really, PPV names are hardly meant to be glamorous. The alternative was Genocide, which is a horrendously cliched name in my opinion, and personally it was the only name I found worse than Omega Effect, but that's probably just me. WD to me really represents the end of the year and the end of a period, leading into that 2-week Christmas break.

People keep saying that names are cliche and then they propose names that are even more cliche.
I said this yesterday as well... the schedule that I've been drafting isn't even mine, it was originally Vortex's, but I switched a show or two around and made it better. I think aside from the original one Vortex did, it's the best to even be proposed (it's better than Vortex's because of the Ragnarok issue, which if he was aware of he probably would have placed correctly anyway.)
It doesn't matter what PPVs are "known" for what month. That's the entire point of this shake up. We're KEEPING the names, and dropping six PPVs a year. Obviously to fit a schedule correctly, we'd have to move it around a little, and Vortex's/mine is the best.
If we're going to vote, we should post both schedules up with a brief description of why it is as it is, and leave the voting to the people.
