This isn't a post about anyone here. Just a little conflict that I have in my head and I wanted to see what other people thought. This is about the future of whatever is to happen as Barack Obama is President. Now, I understand that he is going to help out a LOT of people but here in the South (yes, the dreadful, awful South and now I am sure most of you know who I am... if you still don't, you're either new or not the brightest crayon in the box) most people here are in the main part of the . . . [BIBLE BELT] ... most people here are mad that Obama is President because he - doesn't recognize the US flag and doesn't pledge to the flag
- isn't an "American"
- it's fulfilling a prophecy in the Bible... I haven't read the Bible so, I wouldn't know... just a lot of people here are not happy...
SO, the whole prophecy is saying that there is going to be one ruler that doesn't believe in God and basically, all these natural disasters are happening from God as warnings of him basically coming back to his creations and Armageddon... because Barack Obama is our President... the bible predicted that Barack Obama was going to win the election... In my mind, I'm like " ... what the fuuuuuuck?!" but ya know, I'm open minded from being a Buddhist so, I'm like "Uh, okay ... <shuts up and smiles>" So basically, I want to know what do you take on this... I know many Republican States are upset, especially in the South but how crazy does that sound to you? Am I the only one who thinks that THIS sounds crazy or does it seem sort of right? By the way, I heard this from quite a few Pentecostal/Christian/religious people and most of the people here dislike me because either they are racist or they dislike my religion ... or they're just haters.

I am from the deep south here. About 250 miles away from the Mexico border and I've never heard such racist comments toward Obama. I went with my parents (since I'm not old enough to vote yet) when they went to cast their vote and I over-heard two elderly white men talking about voting. One of them said..and I quote "I'm not voting for that fucking nigger." It's a shame that people feel this way.
Many of you know my grandfather passed away a while back and on Saturday there was a mass dedicated to all those who passed away this year for All Soul's Day. I'm not Christian by any means, but I went out of respect for my grandfather. I was handed a flyer by the PASTOR when I walked in talking about this very thing. The entire flyer was telling you that you should vote for McCain because McCain believes in God and isn't pro-choice. It was more of a call to arms because it called for Catholics to "rise up" and not let this "abomination of a man" rule this country. As for this whole fulfilling the prophecy garbage, I can just see it now. A Hurricane forms and every Christian from the South calls for Barack Obama to step down from office.
'Tards.

All over my Myspace has people's status as "is worried about America" "may God be on HIS side" "is moving to Canada" "is moving to Great Britain" "WTF is wrong with this country? 8 Years of hell and BS with Bush wasn't enough, now you all elect Obama's fuckin dumb ass. WTF!!!!!" "obama president lord help us all civil war 3 to 4 years whats wrong with these people" "i don't know why everybody is talkin crap cause obama is our new president! well i do know why! cause he's BLACK... whatever, he's no different than us people " "its sad that our new president thinks we have 57 states.. thats sad" There is a bunch more but I think you get the drift...

First off I do not understand why you would post in in inside scoop. If you believe something don't be scared and post in anonymously, be a man and stand up for what you believe in.
Secondly, I fully support Obama 110% and I am catholic. I find that nothing gets accomplished when people use the bible to support their arguements because if you have ever read the book, you would see that for every thing the bible states, it normally follows with something stating the complete opposite. Does this mean I think the Bible is bullshit? No. I just feel the Bible is good for reading and for your beliefs but not to support your arguements.
Third, my biggest problem with the statuses that you posted and the once I have seen is not the people speaking out against Obama. This is a country where we have freedom of speech and you can speak for or against whoever you please. My problem is with the people saying I am moving to Canada, Great Britian, ItchKamBool, East Bumblefuck, or wherever they state. This is not an insult to those countries (the real ones obviously) but honestly, if you hate America that much then go there. I wish everyone who wants to leave a safe journy and the best life possible. The fact is, that the people saying they want to leave, won't. They think it sounds cool or they think someone will care if they leave. You don't want to be here, then go, dont let the door hit you on your way out

Vanna, just make a damn account.
First, I kinda take offense that people paint religious people as being racist are not tolerant, etc. etc.
I've said it many times I am Christian/Protestant and proud to be so. I think many here who know me personally would never say I am any of these things. I like black people, I like Hispanic people. I like gay people. I simply like people. However, whenever some bigoted attitude happens people like to paint all people of God as being bigots. It's just wrong.
In fact, some of the most religious people I have ever met are black people. They care not for what a person looks like, but are instead overflowing with morals because they have not been corrupted by the all mighty dollar. I don't see Barrack as non religious. In fact, I think he is very religious.

Good people like yourself are sadly the minority. On the internet It may seem that way, Evans, but I wouldn't say that is truth. Do these people exist? Certainly they do, but I am smack dab in the middle of Republicanville and can honestly say I see more people like me than not.

They think it sounds cool or they think someone will care if they leave. You don't want to be here, then go, dont let the door hit you on your way out To your "First of all" remark ... I could have and would have been a man... but I'm sadly not a man... and I would have posted under a REAL profile but I deleted mine a long ass time ago and I don't want to make another one. Unless you want me to post under yours or something, this is the solution to my wanting to post without making another account. Okaaaaay? Okay! SECONDLY ... I'm giggling at this moment because I think you mistaken what I was thinking. It's not that I agree with the people who have their statuses as such or anything, it's that I find it a little sad to me that people believe that and that is MY choice to believe that. I never said that ALL religious people are saying that, I am saying many religious people are going through and putting down someone who was chosen to run our country ... and obviously he was qualified or else he wouldn't be at the status he is at. AND DON'T LIE! It's true ... it may not be that way up NORTH but it is DOWN SOUTH, bitches! If you don't believe me ... go to Washington State and then go to Tennessee. See the difference. THIRDLY ... I just posted the ones that were clean enough to be here. As Evans pointed out here in the SOUTH ... I have heard MANY remarks upon racial, religious, etc. slurs towards the Elections and really, I was just if the Civil War in the "United" States was over yet because really, it doesn't seem that way here. People just have NO common sense.

LOL Vanna, what you see as many in your life may not be many in another's or the whole picture. The frusterating thing about this election is people do not see the big picture. They really don't. Most Republicans and Democrats are cut from the SAME mold. They play on different sides because there isn't enough room on one side for them all. If Obama is legit, I honestly fear for his life. See Kennedy. There are things in play that are bigger than you could imagine. The election is nothing more than a false facade for the truth, a truth that if people actually understood, would take up arms and charge Washington at this very moment.
