The Impact Meter:
Post-7 Deadly Sins
Post-7 Deadly Sins
Welcome to the second issue of The Impact Metre written by yours truly, Danny Mainer. Now because I'm a lazy shit and haven't been reading shows my knowledge is somewhat impaired but I have read 7 Deadly Sins and have decided to start a clean slate here. So consider this the first issue of a series which should appear the day after each show. So, without further delay let's get stuck into the list. Since last time however, my rule has changed and I will be allowing myself on the list.
Number 10: XS3
Returning on our screens on the night of 7 Deadly Sins was big-man XS3 who intervened to prevent a brutal attack on an innocent woman at the hands of Seymour McFadden and a man wearing X's Exemplar Mask. XS3 exploded out of the curtains and after beating down Exemplar looked to attack Seymour and finish the job with him but the man in the Exemplar costume got a cheap shot in. X retaliated violently taking him down with a Shadow Step before ever being the ladies man and taking the scared girl backstage. A nice, powerful return for X and one can only wonder what the future holds for Matt Irvine.
Number 9: "Senator" Steve Phillips
Although he did not prevail with a win in the 7 Deadly Sins match he came 5th after taking a Helluva beating from every man in the match. Notable moments including kicking Scott into a water-fountain and later slicing up his forehead with a cheese grater. However, despite all his great moments in the match he was the third man eliminated following the "Sweet Revenge Driver" from Scott Andrews. His elimination being caused by the hands of Stephan Russo, he later attempted revenge by interfering in the main event pushing over Russo's seat tower from which he was watching the Russo Rules match. One has to wonder where the man and if Russo will exact any punishments upon the double-life veteran.
Number 8: Jake Steele
Jake was also in the 7 Deadly Sins match but he did not leave victorious. The reason he scores higher then Senator on this edition of the Impact Meter is because he managed to eliminate long-time rival Kudo Yasuda by hitting the "Right in yo' Face" through a security booth in the parking lot. Steele didn't win the match due to Jay Zero planting Steele with the Zero Darkness onto Steele's Mitsubishi followed by crashing onto the concrete rounded off with a pinfall. Steele however later scared the wits out of Jake Cheng by threatening to cash in his International Title Match contract right after winning it from Danny Mainer in The Skyrise Challenge. Jake is a ticking time-bomb waiting to happen and with a new look on life, anything can happen and the world truly is his oyster.
Number 7: Wayde Russeller
"The Law", despite all of Chairman Gingerdude's and Chris Cooley's efforts to throw him off his course managed to come out on top in a brutal cage match to win the honourary title of "Chairman for a Day" in a Do or Die situation. Wayde survived the icy-cold, brutally dark and unforgiving steel as well as multiple lacerations on the face to take out Chris Cooley even as his cousin who he thought he'd left behind, Bobby-Jo came to watch. Just goes to show that family prevails over all. With Wayde as chairman for the next edition of Thursday Night Meltdown ANYTHING can happen.
Number 6: Thunder Train
Thunder Train made some smart moves at 7 Deadly Sins with Thunder Train bringing the fight to Freeman about half an hour before the match even started. Train brought the pain by tying Freeman to the back of a golf-cart before driving around backstage like a mad man. Finally, he power-bombed him off the stage potentially ruining Freeman's career with a stubbed toe. No doubt feeling a great sense of pride after 7 Deadly Sins, the world is his oyster and this could be a boom period in the Locomotive Industry.
Number 5: Jay Zero
"The Perfect 10" scored well because of his great performance in the 7 Deadly Sins match. He put away Jake Steele by hitting the Zero Darkness onto Steele's car and then onto the concrete before pinning him only falling at the final hurdle to Scott Andrews who had Lady Luck on his side that night. Jay Zero must be livid at being so close yet so far but he just didn't pull the victory out at 7 Deadly Sins. Where does Zero go after falling at yet another championship hurdle?
Number 4: Dan White
"Dan the Man" made quite an impact at 7 Deadly Sins. He managed to put away with someone who'd been controlling him and his career for some time by defeating "Black & White", his psychopathic alter-ego by repeatedly mashing his face in with a wrench and burning it to a crisp with a jet of boiling hot steam. The match that was nearly pulled off the air because of it's sheer brutality, near the end Dan won with Black & White denting a boiler causing red hot water to flow out causing a death-trap when mixed with nearby electrical wires. Dan definitely endured the most pain that night as he escaped the Boiler Room Brawl the winner. He also caused mayhemm with Rattlesnake by bringing the Tag Team Contenders match by dismantling G-Unit and The Dynasty with a chair.
Number 3: Jake Cheng
Jake, albeit with ALOT of controversy managed to put long time rival Danny Mainer out of the International Title division for good. Danny came so close to grabbing that title on a few occasions but after a Northern Lights Suplex from the top rope onto a pile of thumb-tacks caused by a mystery man his game was definitely thrown off. Jake capitalized by starting to beat down on the International Champion and after hitting a series of brutal manoeuvres attemped The Second Heartbeat but got capture suplexed through a table. Cheng capitalized on a distracted Danny attempting to grab the title by knocking him into next week with The Second Heartbeat. He then slowly grabbed the title and brought it down ushering in a new era for the International Title. After, Jake Steele came out with the briefcase threatening to cash it in but gave the message to watch his back. No doubt, the now 2nd Grand Slam Champion has been put on notice.
Number 2: BK London
Despite everything he accomplished that night, BK London didn't in fact take the top spot in the Impact Meter. BK London became a three time World Champion, an impressive feat but largely due to the influences of Stephan Russo in this match is why he takes second seat. Ushering in the reign of Top Draw and Stephan Russo calling the shots was a power move indeed which hurtles him right up near the top, Fallen Souls put up a Helluva fight but he just couldn't survive From Brooklyn to London and BK finally won the World Title again.
Number 1: Scott Andrews
The winner of the 7 Deadly Sins Match, Scott Andrews takes the crown seat over BK London because although BK won the World Heavyweight Title from rival Fallen Souls, Scott outlasted six men in a brutal No-Disqualifications environment without any outside assisstance including eliminating both Senator Steve Phillips and ultimately Jay Zero to win the match and a guaranteed ACW World Heavyweight Title shot whenever he so chooses it. Scott Andrews holds the heat-seeking missile and it's aimed right at BK London's back. Scott Andrews has gained a tool to become immortalized in ACW history but the question truly is, when will he use it?
