Yeah, APRIL 2008. Meaning. NOT Meltdown. But hey, this is the first time this list has been...almost...on time, so this is good!
THIS INCLUDES ALL OF APRIL! I tried to make it bi-monthly and missed my deadline, so here ya go. A whole jam-packed month. It made things much harder for me, Ill have you know, but with Senator's help (Thanks!) I finally got this sorted out. Also, TK I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY!
Weeeel, here we go...first a rant. FREEMAN-STYLE!
Sooooo, you got the Power 15. How do you list it? This is a hard job...I mean, there are so many factors. I mean, some people say storyline, some people say just "Whoever made an impact" but how much does win/loss record fit in? It has to be somewhere. What if somebody beat five lower-mids, and somebody LOST to five main-eventers? Who wins there? There is no points system possible that could ever give the depth neccecary for this list, and people's opinions will always differ, but Ill give the list the best I can, with the knowledge that I will at least speak my views on the matter.
If you disagree with anything, feel free to critisize!
I WOULD like some comments, because I finally get this thing up, and it'll be nice to know that people actually read it..even if to say "Wow this list sucks!"
Oh yeah, it's also been demoted to the Power 10. Stupid dwindling roster
10. BK London and Thunder Train.
Wait a minute, what's with these two people in one spot?! Well, look, it was extremely hard to pick one to get off the list, so Senator told me to just keep them both on, so here they are! Now, both of these guys did very well, but with a Power 10 you need to get even more elite. Of course, BK London was on a role with three wins during his challenges with Flamingo, and on a normal month he may have been higher up, but he was just merely outshone as you will see. His early elimination from the rumble did not help at all, although coming back in to eliminate Flamingo did score him SOME points. Overall, the quality of his wins were not particularily momentous, but he does manage to cling onto the list.
Train managed to get three wins as well (coupled with of course...three losses), but did manage to look impressive. A good showing in both the training battle royal (although he lost) and the actual Fallen Heroes Battle Royal give him a boost, not to mention of course, that he became the new Entertainment Champion. The people he beat however ,were just not as high-quality as the people defeated by people above him. Another victim of...everyone else just did better this month. Sorry, Train.
9. Adrian Flamingo
And here's the guy...that...basically did everything BK London did. I mean...same record...in fact, they even teamed up in one of their matches...and his two wins were around the same level as BK's. Major difference? He actually lasted more than a minute in the Rumble >_>. Actually, there's a nice contrast here. While BK London was possibly the man who was in the Rumble the shortest, Flamingo may have been the one who was in the longest, coming in second, and lasting to the final three, only losing because BK London was seeking revenge. Luckily, their feud is not over quite obviously, and I say luckily, because for months this feud has been rocking ACW. Flamingo's internal timebomb has exploded, and I pity whoever steps in his way next. If he keeps his new attitude, he may find a much higher spot on this list next time.
8. Jon Taylor
And now it's Jon Taylor...who again, is a victim of doing good but having everyone else do better. In fact, this was arguably the month that may have made his career. His biggest feud yet, as he had many words with the Senator. Again. While there was no actual one on one match between the two, Taylor did manage to look good against him, and impress. He only had two wins, but his massive battles with the Senator never actually had a clear winner. One time due to a draw (in the training battle royal, in which he...by the way...managed to eliminate Jay Zero., and one time due to Limelight's interference. So, yeah, I mean...not much matchwise going on...a win against Starr here, a random tag win there...but he also had a nice Rumble performance, with three eliminations. I mean, there's not much to say. He did well......even if he talks too much. (Waaaay too much. Im reading the shows and Im like..."Hmm, I gotta take these notes for my list. " And then I get to a Second Coming segment... Me: 0_0....*Scrolls down*.... Me: 0_0...*Scrolls down more*...Me: >_> ...*Scrolls down more*...Me: <_<...*Scrolls down WAY more* ...Me: >_<....*Scrolls down even more*...Me: ...*Goes up and begins to read...*)
7. "Showtime" Ryan Cooper
Well, certainly an impressive month in which this ACW newcomer made a huge impact. Definitely an impressive first month in ACW. You know how many matches this guy won?! Five! Five matches! He definitely came off as an impressive force to be reckoned with, maybe he should...erm...go for the EN title or something..>_> (Cmon, we're still right after FH here!)...but...still....anyways, yeah. Impressive. Now, he just needs to rack up some wins that are against a bit more credible opponents (not that Trent Goodwin isn't credible >_>). But anyways, right. Five wins, more than anybody else, and definitely a dominant debut. I kinda wanted to put this guy in the top 5...but then I had to look above, and realize that there was no way this COULD happen, because again...People did very well this month.
6. Danny Mainer
Ah, our International Champion. Now, his position on this list, is not really due to his match record. He only managed to get wins against Hughes, Red, and Starr, who while credible...have quite honestly not been doing much of anything lately...but the reason that he scored so high, is because, he really has developed into a very credible champion. I mean...sure...at first, it was a bit strange that he beat FSX, Ill admit...not meaning that as an insult, but...this month he has proven he has what it takes to be International Champion. He may have lost to Sarin countless times, but disqualifying himself at the PPV, was an amazingly smart move. If you can't beat them...get out of the match another way. And it was done quite effectively. In my opinion, after his title match at Fallen Heroes (in which, I might add, he put on an amazing performance in general), he has proven all the doubters wrong (Boy would it suck if somebody like Jon Taylor came along and took the title now wouldn't it >_>)
5. Sarin
And we start our top 5 with the person who faced the person right under her about three times. So let's see. She comes back, turns some evil guy into a rock, and owns the IN champion about fifty times. Can you get better than that? Seriously though, she came back from her return and instantly started with all the momentum on her side. A clean win over the IN champ to win the number 1 contendorship was surely impressive, but I can't even count how many Rin Kicks Mainer has eaten this month. She holds three wins over him, although the last is by DQ, and you gotta wonder what would happen if she managed to finish the match. She could've been the International Champ right now. And I beleive she owned Mainer after the match, so...once again. Yeah. Certainly the most momentum in a while somebody has gained on their return...we have to wonder whether anything will be made about her interaction with Thunderkiss after Fallen Heroes...and now we begin to enter the Top 4
4. FSX
BRING OUT THE TORCHES! FSX SHOULD BE NUMBER 1! WE LOVE FSX! FSX IS THE BEST!. Yeah, I know, I know. I love FSX too, and he definitely showed this month that he IS capable of winning the big one...though the time wasn't his just yet. Of course, the problem is, he did not wrestle once, and only got one win. But of course, it was a huge win. A win against the Senator. He only lost to Thunderkiss in an ACW title match by being low blow'd, and he lasted until the final two of the Fallen Heroes Battle Royal. Yes. He had a great month. He was a favorite to win...he was practically keeping the show going...he was right up there in the limelight, and like I said, he proved a lot this month. His presense on the shows easily makes up for his lack of matches. Nonetheless, he has to stay in this spot, because he was just barely edged out by the people above him. The entire top 4 on this list are very close. In fact, you can basically almost call it a four-way-tie. This was definitely not an easy decision, so quite honestly their may be some complaints...so say what you will, but here's how it's going.
3. Thunderkiss (YEAH I SAID IT!)
THATS RIGHT! THUNDER-KISS! HA! YOULL NEVER BE AIDEN JOSEPH TO ME! Oh...fine...just for this writeup. Okay "Aiden" did not wrestle much this month, but when he did, he put on some of the best matches of the week. "Aiden" has certainly had a personality change as of late, but is that for the better? Well, his in-ring skills are certainly taking a positive turn. So what did "Aiden" do this month? Well...he started by changing everything. INCLUDING HIS STABLE! Honestly, who WASNT shocked when "Aiden" made the change, casting the Entourage downstream and making one of the most shocking entrances into a stable in a very long time. Not only that, but he finally got his hands on Black and White, who has been stalking him for quite a while...of course, it turned out to be Dan, so nobody cared anymore (jk >_>)...but either way, this led to the main event of Fallen Heroes, in which "Aiden" defended his title in a hellacious match. He also defended his title against FSX. So yes, he did do well this month. I mean, wherever you looked, "Aiden" was there. Now, that is going to bring us to our final two...and since we all know who number 1 is, that means number two must be.....
2. THE SENATOR???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
WHOAMG SWERVE! Nah, Senator isn't number 1. Why? Well...what else did he really do besides win Fallen Heroes? Now, of course, Fallen Heroes is one of the largest PPV's of the year, and he just guaranteed his spot in the main event of Omega Effect, therefore this was of course the biggest win anybody had all month, however, he really did not have that many wins otherwise. He looked strong in a couple of draws against Taylor, and defeated Zero, although FSX did beat him. He really did not do much on the shows, as he was busy training with himself. He did have a nice feud with Taylor, which would have elevated him higher had he actually held a win against him. So, yes, I mean, he really did do amazing...but one win alone, momentous as it is, is not quite enough to win you the number 1 spot. Senator, is about as close as you could possibly come without getting it however. And, on the good side, it seems that Senator's chances of winning the title are quite high...because Senator is always motivated...and age isn't going to stop him from outwrestling whoever you put in front of him. But, wait, if he's number 2...who's number 1?
1. Jay Zero
This might be a bit of a surprise to some of you, who may not have seen that coming. I mean, it was a surprise to me, and I WROTE it. But hey, I want you guys to think back for a minute. So the guy returns from injury, and he instantly claims that he has had his faith renewed...and maybe he has...nobody can argue with this guys ability to cut a promo, but could he back it up? Yes, he absolutely could. Yes, he may have lost a training battle royal after being eliminated by Taylor, and may have lost to Senator, but look at the wins he DOES have. A win against Hughes to start the month, but then he also managed to get a win against "Aiden Joseph" The current world champion, AND Danny Mainer, the current International Champion...BOTH times in one-on-one matches! Beating two out of three of the companies champions is most definitely not something to forget about. Couple that with a three-way tie for most eliminations in the Fallen Heroes Battle Royal (Eliminating Taylor, Showtime, and Mr. Red...three very impactful eliminations), and a fourth place finish, and you've got yourself a winner. Zero's momentum picked up fast, and just didn't go anywhere...and if he keeps it up...maybe there may be a title shot for him in his future? That would be quite interesting to see.
