BK is about three quarters of the way up when Latino stirs; he rises groggily, and spots his opponent. Even Latino has trouble remembering precisely what happens next, but the video replay tells the story; he runs at the ropes, and dives through them with another Pitbull’s Pounce, colliding with BK and collapsing the ladder flat. Fortunately the height is not as much as it might have been, but it’s still another big impact, and the fans are sure that there can’t be too many more of those left in either man.
Edison: Jeeezus, did you hear that contact with the ramp?
McNally: We all did, Eddie, we’re not deaf. Though if this crowd gets any louder…
The fans must all be risking a long period of hoarseness post-show by now; all the noise seems to be helping to rouse RAF, who is slowly stirring, though still facing outwards from the ring. Latino can see the ladder lying close to him, and he weaves his way toward it; he gets back into the ring, but BK is close behind him, and as he slides in he grabs the chair from the apron edge. Latino approaches the fallen ladder, but BK shouts his name, and Latino turns – whereupon BK throws the chair at him. Latino manages to catch it. At once BK goes for the Shades of Michaeals; Latino ducks by millimeters, and then tosses the chair back to BK. The situation is reversed as now Latino tries a superkick; BK also dodges, and drops the chair so that it is directly in front of him. Latino doesn’t see the next move coming… ironically, since it’s one of his own.
Edison: SWITCHBLADE CUT ON TO A STEEL CHAIR!!!
McNally: Oh my, it may all be over for the Latin King!
Latino looks badly dazed as BK surveys the damage; he sees RAF starting to get up, and quickly kicks the chair out of the ring, before following it himself.
McNally: The ladder, it’s right there! What’s he thinking?
BK shoves the ladder lying on the ramp into the ring, and then gets hold of the last ladder on the outside and pushes that inside, too. There’s much less space on the canvas now, which makes it an even more dangerous situation.
Sliding back into the ring, BK sees that Latino has set up the ladder that was already there; Latino spots BK and runs at him, and BK ducks his clothesline. Latino though pivots around, grabs BK’s arm and whips him into the ladder; the ladder is pushed backward to one side but stays up. As BK stands up straight again, Latino charges forward, and shows him how the Switchblade should be done, sending the crowd into ecstasy.
Edison: DAANNNGGERROOUUSS! And there’s more!
There certainly is; Latino climbs up the ladder. He realizes he can’t actually reach the belt, since the ladder has moved… but he looks down, and smiles before pointing to the sky.
McNally: OOOOOOH YES! You KNOW what’s coming, let the pictures tell you everything!
And they do; Latino leaps, seems to hang in the air for a split second, and then comes screaming down into the frogsplash. The arena goes berserk, and Latino grins… but has his ego just cost him dearly?
He gets up, and puts the ladder back into position – and then rolls BK out of the ring before starting to ascend. In some quarters the party’s already started; surely nothing can stop Latino now…
…but BK is up, and he absolutely will not even consider losing this match. With exceptional strength and courage, he leaps to the apron and then springboards from the top rope to the side of the ladder, echoing Shelton Benjamin in style. He thunders up the opposite side of the ladder, and meets Latino at the top; punches are exchanged, and then….
McNally/Edison: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!

BK executes the Revolver from the top of the ladder; the motion topples it yet again, and several people turn away as the pair of them impact. Even RAF looks pale; his first instinct is to stop the match there and then, but he hears something – it’s a strange, hoarse laugh, and it’s coming from BK.
BK London can barely stand; he gets to his feet, but can seemingly move no further for several seconds, his body doesn’t want to play this game any longer. He forces himself to move, and rights the ladder slumped against the ropes, but bizarrely he sets it well off-centre. He then picks up one of the two ladders he recently brought to the ring, and sets this up opposite the first, also off-centre on the other side of the mat.
Edison: Well, he’s lost me, Max.
McNally: I think I have to concur Eddie. I don’t understand…
The feeling seems to be mutual with the crowd, who are totally confused. BK ignores them all and picks up the third ladder; holding it with one hand, he slowly ascends one of the standing ladders, until he reaches the second or third rung from the top. Carefully, he lifts the third ladder, and slides it horizontally forward, balancing it on top of the ladder he’s on; he pushes the solid end of the third ladder under the top step of the ladder on the far side, and then finally slots the other end into the same place on the ladder he’s on. McNally suddenly twigs.
McNally: My lord… that’s brilliant.
Edison: What in the blue heck is it?
McNally:…. It’s London’s Bridge.
It’s exceedingly fortunate that BK is not a sufferer of vertigo; he starts to walk with great care across the horizontal ladder, and keeps his gaze on the belt in front of him. On the ground, Latino is up; he shakes the structure, but it’s too stable to bring down, and realizing this is the point where everything hinges, he races up the ladder, and uses his tremendous balance to traverse the “bridge”. He and BK close in on one another; Latino is faster, but as he gets a hand to the belt, BK commits everything and explodes into a superkick. The fans expect Latino to duck…
…but he’s too slow, and BK connects. There is a cry of outrage from the fans as Latino is sent flying backward away from the ladder; BK too can’t stay upright and he too drops sideways, but is ready to grab the ladder he was standing on. He hangs by both hands; the crowd is boiling over, and BK looks down to take in the sight of his opponent lying, defeated, on the mat.
…Except that there’s no one down there. He becomes vaguely aware of people on the ramp below, and the crowd boos as they see the rest of the triple syndicate rushing to the ring. BK slowly looks upward… and sees Latino swinging backward and forward, clinging on to the belt for all he’s worth. As he passes over, BK grabs his ankle, and starts to pull; Latino struggles to kick away, and in desperation BK puts all his weight on his opponent…
It’s finally too much for the wire holding the belt. It snaps, and Latino drops; he grabs the ladder with one hand, and the jerk dislodges BK’s grip on his foe. He makes one last attempt to hold him, but Latino’s shiny ring belts offer no friction, and the crowd goes barmy as BK drops to the mats below. He is able to land safely… and the horizontal ladder at that moment slips out of one of its supports and drops down at one end. Latino is, by a sheer fluke, deposited inches from the canvas, and he has only to lightly drop to the mat to trigger the ringing of the bell.
Philip: Here is your winner… and STILL ACW World Champion, Victor “Latino” Laureano!

Latino raises his title belt as RAF holds up his arm in victory. He looks side to side after the long and brutal battle that he had with BK London for the ninth time, exhausted but jubilant. London’s feelings are the exact opposite; he leaves the ring with help from the Triple Syndicate who could not reach the ring in time to act on his behalf. He looks back at Latino and the World Champion does the same. They make eye contact but then quickly break as Latino holds the title belt up a second time; perhaps it’s just a bit too painful for BK right now. He heads slowly up the ramp, and the crowd stands and applauds him for his supreme effort tonight.
BK has just left the main arena when a fresh cheer goes up as Atomic Kitsune runs down to the ring. ACW's favorite couple embraces in a passionate hug and then breaks free as they both hold up their arms. But without warning, the fans' cheers turn to boos as the Upper Echelon appear on the stage and start walking down to the ring. Logan Locke has a microphone in his hand and he is eager to put it some use as he starts to talk and walk.
Logan: Hey, Latino! You think you're done here? Oh no, not by a long shot. You see you are not done defending that title. We said that we would make an impact and we will. So timekeeper, ring the damn bell!
Logan slides inside the ring and Latino is more than ready to fight. Alicia, however, is certain this challenge can’t be legal and holds his arm back, but Latino doesn't care as his temper is now reaching its limits. Latino breaks from his wife and suddenly Logan and Latino are in the midst of a brawl. Both men throw rights and lefts and Atomic is not sure what to do; her hesitation costs her as Leon and Jonny quickly slide inside the ring and jump on Latino. With no other option, Atomic intervenes but Leon punches her in the face. She stumbles, and it looks as if the couple have made a huge miscalculation in trying to stand and fight in a compromised situation…
Suddenly, the fans cheer once again as Jonny Spade runs down to the ring. He slides inside the ring and pulls Leon off of Atomic with a strong punch to the face. He then grabs Jonny and attacks him with a punch of his own. The fans are going nuts as now the odds are evened out with a three on three fight. Jonny turns around and pumps his fist with a "YEAH!" motion; Alicia recovers from her momentary confusion and looks surprised and alarmed to see Jonny gesturing at the UE.
Alicia: What are you playing at, Jonny? This isn’t your battle!
Jonny Hughes has spotted Spade, and runs at him, going for a spear. Spade turns this into a spinebuster, to more big cheers, and grins. Alicia smiles, but in a strange way… it’s almost regretful.
Jonny has no chance to avoid the next attack, and within the blink of the eye he's taken out and down to the mat with an ace crusher...or if you want to be more specific....The Switch Blade Cut.
The crowd cries out in absolute shock, and Jonny clutches his head as he lies on the ground. The UE gathers around in a small semi circle, smirking as they look down on their opponent. It’s when Jonny Hughes looks quizzically at Latino and AK, awaiting instruction, that the penny drops. That’s when the booing starts, and it’s filled with raw emotion for which there is only one appropriate word… betrayal.
Latino holds up a hand, indicating to the others that they should restrain themselves for a moment, and walks over to the ropes to grab a mic from one of the ringside crew. As he comes back, the shot shows Alicia bend down on one knee, and put a hand on Jonny Spade’s shoulder.
Alicia: I’m sorry, Jonny, truly I am, this wasn’t supposed to happen quite this way. But then, if you want to play the hero… there’s always a cost associated with it, believe me I know. So consider this our “fee”.
She stands up, and then without another word, kicks Spade forcefully between the legs. Jonny screws up his face in pain, and at Latino’s nod, Leon and Jonny Hughes roughly lift him up and toss him over the ropes. They return to their original positions, as Latino holds up the mic with a smirk on his face.
Latino: You thought it would never come to this, didn’t you? That my chula and I were blind to the way things are heading around here? Well, it’s time for everyone, out here and in the back, to understand where the power REALLY lies in this federation! It’s not with the Triple Syndicate, it’s not with the Senatorial Stable, it’s not even with Flower Power… Did you really think that the Upper Echelon was just three men? If so...then you thought wrong. Because you see here Leon, Jonny, Logan, Alicia, and myself....we are the Upper Echelon!
July 7, 1996 - at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, Hulk Hogan turns on Sting, Savage and Luger and joins The Outsiders to form the New World Order. One of the key moments in wrestling history… and you’d better note this one down too. 10 years later August 26th 2006 at Heatwave in the ACW Arena, Victor "Latino" Laureano and Alicia "Atomic" Kitsune turn on the fans and reveal the truth of the Upper Echelon… their master plan to ensure their place at the top of the ACW hierarchy.
There are no more words to be said; Latino leads the way, shouldering the title belt which now looks less likely than ever to leave his possession, and exits the ring. The fans are both angry and devastated, and they express themselves in the only way they know how, by booing for all they’re worth. If this bothers Alicia and Victor, they hide it well; in fact, they look extremely satisfied with their night’s work.
The show is at an end, and the picture begins to fade out…

…except that, it doesn’t quite fade altogether. We see instead a single, dejected figure, leaning up against a cinderblock wall. It’s Andrew Hunter; he has a half-full bottle of something cheap and strong in one hand, and his “Aussie” hat in the other. It’s not been the best of nights for him; sure, he helped Rattlesnake to hold on to his title, but it means little in comparison to his tag title failure, Torak’s rebellion, and most of all the loss of Papylov. After all, he may have been a slightly dim, idiosyncratic, and rather ordinary koala. But Hunter realizes that he represented something he thought he’d lost forever… and perhaps now, he truly has.
A crewmember passes by, and notices Hunter there.
Someone: Bad day?
Hunter: ...worse.
The crewmember shrugs, and walks away again. Hunter drains his bottle to the dregs, tosses it into a nearby trash can… and then sends the hat in after it. He does not look back as he walks into the shadows, and out of sight.
The Heatwave is finally subsiding… but its flames have consumed some very deeply held preconceptions, and a new power struggle is set to rise from the ashes. A struggle which will indeed span the very globe, as ACW heads off on its second world tour…
Fade to Black.
End of Show.

it was announced that i lost the title before the match took place? I noticed that too Red. For those that don't know what he means in the middle of Dan and Starky's match when they were in Red's locker room it says something like "disapointed Red from losing his match earlier on in the night" or something along those lines. Oh well still a nice match it was.
