The pair fly at one another again; the fighting’s just as fierce, but now the bloodloss is starting to hamper Ridley, and Skurai begins to take the upper hand. Ridley takes repeated chokeslams on to the metal, and Skurai no - sells even his most powerful moves; the crowd becomes alarmed, and a patch in the centre of the roof is getting very weak. As Ridley’s resistance becomes more futile, Skurai slams him face – first into the metal and forces him to look down; there’s an absolutely huge pile of glass directly below, and it’s clear that the red druids have transported the contents of the Caribbean glass pit into the cage while Ridley’s forces were assisting him elsewhere. Laughing insanely, Skurai lifts Ridley as high as he can; the audience screams as Skurai sends Ridley through the roof, but – no! – the move is reversed, and it’s Skurai who takes the plunge. The crowd is making an extraordinary racket, but it’s not oiver yet; from below, one of Ridley’s Druids throws one of the flaming torches upward, with something else – a gascan. Immediately the chants of “M – Bison, M – Bison” fill the arena, but Ridley has something else up his sleeve; he looks around him, grins, and then proceeds to douse himself entirely in gasoline. The sound actually dies back a bit, no one can quite believe that Ridley’s serious – but he’s DEADLY serious, and there’s a mass shriek as Ridley lights the gas and jumps through the hole in the roof, delivering the mother of all Psycho Crushers to Skurai. Ridley pins, and the ref makes the count with Ridley still on fire; Skurai kicks just that bit too late, and the “HOLY SHIT!!” chants practically obliterate the sound of the ringing bell. Philip: Ladies and Gentlemen, here is your winner…….RIDLEY!!
Ridley’s druids cloud the area around Ridley and Skurai as they swiftly put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before making a quick exit. As the crowd wigs out over the incredible finish, and the fire – killing dust settles, Skurai and Ridley are already back on their feet, with glass shards embedded all over their flesh. Skurai’s occasionally seen eye – tic has returned, a sign of the sheer fury of his inner demon; Ridley’s expression is blank….until he gives Skurai just a fleeting smile and raised eyebrow.
Skurai bellows, and for a moment it seems that Asmodeus is about to literally explode out of his “host”; but instead Skurai launches into a fresh assault on Ridley, his fists flying as if the rest of the match had never happened. The red druids snatch up whatever weaponry is on the ground and attempt to join in, but they are blocked by Ridley’s forces and sheer hell breaks loose. With his eyes flaming, Skurai clamps his hand over Ridley’s face and starts to squeeze; the crowd screams as Ridley’s skull seems about to shatter and collapse in on itself…..
Asmodeus: This ends NOW, child.
Ridley: You’re damn right. Time to meet what you made, (mockingly) m’lord.
Ridley kicks Skurai in the chest with such force that he flies backward and hits the exposed turnbuckle. Without hesitation, Ridley storms over, takes a deep breath….and clamps the Seiden Gauntlets on either side of Skurai’s head. There’s an absolutely blinding flash of light and everyone has to protect their eyes; it’s several seconds before the cameras or people’s vision can readjust itself, and everyone stares at the eerie scene before them……
Skurai is lying, face upward, next to the ropes; his eyes are open and he’s breathing, but otherwise he is totally still and seemingly bereft of will. All the red druids are also collapsed and in a similar state. But the most shocking part of the tableaux is Ridley himself; he’s kneeling a foot or two from Skurai, head down, and shivering with his arms folded around his chest as if trying to protect himself from some bitter cold. Druid #2, deeply concerned, approaches as quickly as he dares and cautiously puts a hand on his master’s shoulder.
Druid #2: My lord…….?
Ridley doesn’t respond at once; he’s mouthing bizarre words to himself. After a few moments he raises his head and tries to focus on Druid #2, which isn’t at all easy since his eyes keep darting all over the place.
Druid #2: My lord, we have to get you back to the Demon Pit, you have to rest.
Ridley waves a hand about erratically in the air; he’s trying to speak, but his own words keep getting overridden by more arcane syllables.
Ridley: ………….No……….have to…..stay………….IIIIIAAAA! CHATTURGHA-ISYLOH-NAHOLYEH- Fuck it, focus, focus……Alexan…..Alex……Rose.
Druid #2 feels a surge of anguish for his master and mentor, but understands what he wants; while the EMTs collect Skurai and the other druids, Ridley’s party assist him out of the cage and settle him to one side of the ring to wait for the World Title match; the stage crew arrive to dismantle what’s left of the cages, and the show goes to commercials while the necessary work takes place.

Match 9: Alexandra “White Rose” Kaesar vs. BK London – ACW World Title Match
After a rather long commercial break the show returns to reveal that the ring is back to its normal, hallowed state – the technical crews have done a superb job. Philip stays well clear of Ridley as he enters the ring; though he’s still in obvious distress, nothing is going to prevent Ridley from being there to support Rose. Druid #2 is also still in attendance; being the most experienced and intelligent of Ridley’s minions, he is aware that in this state Ridley could potentially hamper Rose as well as help her, and his loyalty to both of them means that he is determined to try and keep any such events to a minimum.
Philip: Ladies and Gentlemen, we have reached tonight’s main event – the ACW World Title match! Presenting first, he is the #1 contender…..from Brooklyn, New York, please welcome BK London!
”Breathe” bursts into life, pyros go off all along the stage, and the crowd yells its lungs out as BK walks out on to the stage. He stops and looks around, taking in every sight and every sound; then, slowly, he approaches the ring. His concentration is absolute; for him, the whole world is the space within the squared circle, and every single thing he’s ever done has been in preparation for this moment. He climbs the turnbuckles and raises his arms to the fans, not forgetting them at this most crucial of times, but in his head he knows that the final reckoning will rest with him, and him alone.
Then “Scars of Time” soaks the arena with its melody, and a single spotlight falls upon the champion as she enters.
Philip: And his opponent, she is the reigning ACW World Champion……from St Petersburg, Russia, please welcome Alexandra Kaesar, the White Rose!
The majority of fans boo Rose as she walks along the ramp, but her small – yet - growing fanbase still make themselves heard. Rose maintains her trademark cool, collected air, but her expression falters when she gets to ringside; Ridley is mumbling away to himself and doesn’t see her until she’s right alongside. But as he does look up, their eyes meet and the agony seems to recede for a few moments; they kiss briefly, and Ridley whispers something to Rose that makes her smile before she heads to the steps and enters the ring. She hands her title belt to the referee, who holds it up; the lighting returns to normal, and the fans are already making a huge amount of noise as Rose and BK face one another and the signal is given to get the match started.
Bell Rings.
The action doesn’t commence straight away; Rose and BK continue to observe one another for several seconds, and Rose’s expression becomes a somewhat cocky smirk. She takes a step closer to BK; BK does the same, and now there’s barely 2 feet between them. With a very fast movement, Rose leans in and slaps BK hard around the face; BK takes it without flinching, then turns his head back to look at Rose again. Rose’s smirk fades as she sees that BK is not intimidated, and then in a flash BK spears Rose, zero-to-bloody fast in less than a second, and starts punching her repeatedly in the head while the pair of them are on the mat. Once BK has got 2 or 3 shots in Rose is able to block; seeing this, BK kips up, drags Rose up with him and then whips her hard into the corner. The crowd is roaring as BK takes it firmly to the champion; he lays down a few chops to Rose’s chest before throwing her halfway across the ring to land back – first. Rose stands back up, with her hand against her spine, but at once BK attacks again, driving her shoulder – first into the ring post. Rose cries out a little in pain; BK vaults over the ropes and grabs Rose by the hair close to her head before ramming her forehead against the post. The impact is incredibly strong and Rose staggers, leaning against the ropes for support; she is too dazed to see London hop off of the apron, and London builds on his strong start by snatching hold of Rose’s ankles and dragging her from the ring. With Rose reeling, London waits for her to get up and positions himself to whip Rose into the steps; but Rose is pulling herself together and she smartly reverses the whip so that London goes flying and hits the steps instead, injuring his back so that the pair of them are even on that score. Looking deeply angry at herself and at BK, Rose walks forward and kicks him in the chest while he’s trying to rise – the “honeymoon” is over for BK, and now the match proper is underway.

Rose’s revenge is swift and utterly brutal; she lays BK over the steps and stamps away at his chest, his gut…..all the time hurling abuse at him and doing her best to make BK feel small. Once she’s got tired of this, Rose hauls BK up and gives him her dragon suplex off of the steps to the floor below; the crowd boo, but Rose just ignores them. The assault doesn’t ease off; as BK wobbles back to his feet, Rose delivers a string of her famous left handed punches; BK starts bleeding a little from his nose, and this just seems to make Rose even more vicious. She demonstrates her strength by lifting BK and crotching him on the safety barrier; BK screws up his features in pain, and Rose hops up on to the barrier next to him before putting him in a headlock and jumping down, landing on her knees and twisting BK’s neck in a nasty fashion. Conscious of the referee’s shouting from the ring, Rose drags BK back and bundles him inside again; as she goes she catches sight of Ridley staring at Philip without blinking and totally freaking the young announcer out. Unnerved by Ridley’s erratic behaviour, nevertheless Rose forces herself to concentrate; she elbow drops on to BK and pins to test the water, and the result is a 2 count. BK still looks very unsteady as he gets up; Rose notes the proximity of the ropes, and uses them to get extra height on her moonsault…but BK chooses this point to make a comeback, and he catches and slams Rose down in a single movement. With Rose lying face down, BK knows he may not get another chance at this particular move….so he goes for it and applies the Mutoh Sickle. His fans start yelling for Rose to tap; but Rose, although clearly feeling the move’s effects, will not give in without a battle. The camera shot zooms in to capture the beauty and drama of the foes locked in combat…..but unfortunately for viewers at home, this is the moment that Ridley decides to help Ginger cut his wage bill by killing the cameraman. The shot shudders and jolts as the camera is thrown about; it comes to rest pointing at the ceiling, and a lot of noise is heard as the producer tries to switch to a backup ringside camera.
Ridley: TAURUM PRE CORNUA PREHENDE! IN RIVO FIRMI SINE REMO SUM!!
Pretty much everyone at ringside has to help in separating Ridley from the battered cameraman; the referee is furious and threatens to have everyone evicted until Druid #2 succeeds in getting Ridley to calm down by reminding him of why he’s out by the ring in the first place. In all the chaos, Rose has managed to free herself from the hold, and when the camera gets back to the ring she and BK are fighting like tigers once again. Rose is spurred to try and put BK away; she hurls him into the corner and throws massive punches and swinging kicks his way before suplexing him clear and making a cover, which gets 2. Rose continues to taunt BK as she continues the assault, but BK is storing up his anger as a reserve of energy, and when Rose gets just a little careless in going for a knockdown BK is able to flapjack her up so that she jars her neck on the ropes on landing. BK jumps over the ropes and gives Rose a butterfly suplex, sending he out of the ring; the scene is set for the Brooklyn Turnpike, and the crowd roars its approval as the move connects. BK doesn’t waste time basking in the glory; he rolls Rose back into the ring and goes for the cover, and this time the count passes 2 before Rose is able to respond. Rose gets herself back up, and looks rather angry; she whips BK to the ropes and hits him with an armdrag. BK gets up and runs to the ropes himself; he comes back for a clothesline but Rose steps to one side and trips him, making him fall flat on his face. Rose laughs cruelly and scornfully as BK gets up; BK glares and approaches again, but Rose just repeats the whip. BK holds out his arm for a clothesline, and Rose ducks; but BK has fooled her, and he jumps up and hits a standing SSP straight on to Rose’s back, crushing her to the mat. The fans cry out in surprise at the move, and BK rolls Rose over and covers; he gets 2.5, and the title he desires so much has never been closer…..

With the crowd still cheering for the standing SSP, BK staggers up and sees that Rose is doing the same thing. Desperate to try and get that critical strike, BK charges in for a Yakuza Kick – but Rose avoids it deftly and BK can’t halt in time before he clobbers the referee. BK swears inwardly, knowing that with no ref to count there’s no point in pinning, but things are about to get much worse – Rose has had enough, and with the referee down she slides out of the ring and retrieves a chair. BK turns back just in time to see Rose coming at him; he holds up an arm to block, but Rose hits it with the chair and BK howls in pain. A swift kick brings BK to his knees, and Rose hits him over the head to drop him before she takes aim for the finishing blow…..
Voice: Alex! No, please…..don’t hurt daddy!
The little girl has scrabbled over the barrier before anyone from security spots her. Princess isn’t much taller than the apron, but she rolls herself into the ring with an inherited skill and runs over to Rose, who is surprised enough to put the chair down to one side.
Rose: Princess, what are you doing here? I promised you would have him back after the match. Now leave this ring before you get hurt.
Princess: NO! I won’t let you hurt daddy!
Rose laughs.
Rose: What makes you think you have any choice in the matter?
Princess’ response is to stamp on Rose’s foot as hard as she can, and then kick her in the shin with surprising force. Rose winces just a little, but it’s like a gnat bite to her, and her expression becomes more malicious. Princess starts to look afraid, and before she can run Rose kicks her to the ground. The crowd boos and shouts furiously; on the outside, it’s impossible to tell if Ridley’s sudden outburst of psychotic laughter is due to events in the ring or those in his tortured mind. Princess looks close to tears, but she glares at Rose and won’t cry; for some reason this infuriates Rose more and she picks her up, preparing for the Mark of The Rose…..which means she fails to spot an apoplectic Kiley shoving security out of the way and charging into the ring. Kiley rolls into the ring, scoops up the dropped chair and nails Rose in the back with it in a single fluid movement; the crowd cheers, but this too has little effect on Rose, who drops the child, whirls around, and catches hold of Kiley by the throat to suspend her in the air.
Rose: Are all of London’s relatives as stubborn and useless as you are? You are not worthy to share this ring with me, but if you insist on being included I will willingly take this whole family apart!
Kiley struggles and gags, but Rose is far too strong. The crowd is yelling and shouting, trying to get BK moving, but in fact it’s just one voice that does the trick.
Princess: Daddy, please….. Don’t let the bad lady hurt mommy……
BK’s eyes snap open, and he springs to his feet; he takes hold of the steel chair that Kiley dropped, and Rose gets just a moment to see BK more angry, and more powerful, than he has ever been before he brings the chair crashing down on the top of her head. The chair actually splits, and Rose’s knees buckle; she collapses, and the fans are approaching critical mass as Kiley gathers up Princess and gets out of the ring. BK is still very dizzy from the chairshot, but he’s running on pure adrenaline as he weaves over to the corner and somehow climbs up the post. With the briefest of salutes to the crowd, BK takes flight and delivers his “From Brooklyn to London” with perfect aim; he hooks her leg, and Kiley leans into the ring to drag the just – about - recovering referee into position to see the pin. The woozy ref counts; he does not see Rose put her foot on the bottom rope, and as his hand hits for 3 the roof of the arena really does threaten to blow off.
There’s some confusion on the outside; BK hears the bell ring and everything is like a dream as the referee puts the title belt into his hands. Kiley and Princess barrel back into the ring and almost flatten him in their joy; with the crowd going nuts BK stands and holds up the title belt. Rose, meanwhile, is almost in a state of shock and is taking the referee to task; Ridley doesn’t seem to grasp what is going on for quite some time, but when he catches sight of London with the belt everyone within 10 feet tries to run for cover, and it looks like there’s about to be one hell of a ruck. Oblivious to this, Philip is just about to make the announcement.
Philip: Here is your winner, and NEW ACW World Champion…<br>

Voice (from the stage): HOLD EVERYTHING!
The noise dissipates, and Chairman Gingerdude is standing on the stage. He looks sad, as if he doesn’t want to do what he’s about to do……but he has no choice.
Ginger: Everyone, I’m sorry, but the referee has made an error, one which I can’t allow to stand in a match of this magnitude. As you can see….
A shot of the end of the match comes up on the Titantron.
Ginger: Rose’s foot was on the rope when that count was made, therefore it is not valid. So….this match will restart, and will continue until a true winner is found.
There’s uproar in the arena; Kiley is devastated, and Princess doesn’t fully understand. BK looks at the belt in his hand, sighs, and gives to an apologetic referee; he gently urges Kiley and Princess to get safely back behind the barriers, and the crowd has to settle down again as BK and Rose stare at one another. Once all the extra parties have left the ring, the ref gives a sign to the outside and the bell rings again to indicate that the match is on again.
There’s little hesitation before Rose and BK rush one another; the match is taking a huge toll o the both, and now a long, protracted struggle is simply not an option for either of them. BK does not make any attempt to hide his intentions; he goes straight for the Revolver, and the crowd holds its breath….but Rose counters it brilliantly into her own “Smell the Roses” dragon sleeper. BK writhes, but Rose holds on; he snatches at the ropes, but Rose forcibly drags BK back to the centre of the ring. BK keeps fighting, not making it easy for Rose to hold on, but slowly, inevitably his movements start to weaken, and Rose smiles. BK’s senses are becoming dulled, but one sound cuts through the muffle…..it’s the crowd, chanting his name, “BK! BK! BK!”. BK opens his eyes, and makes his last play; he grabs Rose’s arm which is wrapped around his neck, and twists it; Rose cries out and BK goes for a clothesline, but Rose ducks. What happens next is only clearly revealed by a slow motion replay; with dazzling speed, the two foes each go for a superkick – and connect at exactly the same moment, at 110% power. Both Rose and BK stagger backward and look at each other for a second before they collapse in synch to the mat; the crowd is stunned, and the ref starts a 10 count as they both lay there. The noise is phenomenal; people are shouting for both competitors……the count reaches four, five, six……and above it all, Kiley and Princess call to BK, urging him to one last effort. On the other side of the ring, Ridley is silent; but he has his eyes riveted on Rose, all the pain and madness within him pushed down for these few seconds as he wills her to rise as he knows she can….the referee reaches eight, and slowly BK and Rose stir and pick themselves up; they’re both standing just before the referee reaches 10.
Rose and BK face one another; but they don’t see their opponent. Instead, BK sees only his family, and Rose sees only Ridley; and then, with the support of their loved ones holding up their exhausted bodies, they approach one another…one last time. If the length of the match was dependent on the strength of feeling that the competitors possess, the match would last an eternity; but now, something has to give. Rose and BK throw out the last of their accumulated strength, hitting each other almost simultaneously; BK bundles Rose to the ground and pins, but Rose throws him off and then tries to apply her figure four. BK kicks her away and gets back up; they close in, lock up…and BK, yelling with a final determined effort, lifts Rose up and holds her in the air before dropping backward to complete the stalling suplex. With the crowd going bonkers, BK runs to the corner, climbs up, and jumps for the SSP…..
Sometimes, the margin between victory and defeat is so thin that it’s impossible to spot the critical moment, even in the aftermath. This is one of those times. No matter how often the tape is played, no one is able to say just when or how Rose was able to find the strength to move, and BK lands next to her with less than an inch separating them. Thus, Rose is able to roll herself and BK over before the sensation of the impact has even registered in BK’s mind, and it’s only just coming to a head as the referee’s count reaches 3. The bell rings, and this time there’s no controversy – the match has a winner, but in most people’s eyes there is no true loser after a match of this kind.
Philip: Here is your winner…..and still ACW World Champion, Alexandra Kaesar!

The sound coming from the audience is transfixing in its volume and sheer emotional loading; Rose stands quietly up and looks at her defeated opponent. BK is kneeling on the canvas; he’s not a man to cry in public, but the pain of defeat scythes right into his soul. He feels a million miles away from everyone and everything……until two petite hands take hold of one of his, and his eyes meet those of his daughter. He looks at her, and a sense of failure sweeps over him. There’s only one thing he can do.
BK: Princess……I’m sorry. I’m sorry I couldn’t win the title.
Princess bites her bottom lip, as if thinking about something.
Princess: Did you do the best you could?
BK looks at her again, a bit confused.
BK: Yeah, I did.
Princess smiles…...it’s worth more that all the titles and prizes in the world to him.
Princess: Then it’s ok, daddy. It’s ok.
She throws her arms around him and holds on; BK stands up, and lifts her on to his shoulder, more proud of her than of any belt. Kiley enters the ring and he puts his other arm around her waist.
Kiley: There will be other times Jame, I absolutely know it.
BK: Yeah, I know it too. But for now….all I want to do is go home.
Kiley looks up at him.
Kiley: But you said……
BK: I said I’d come home when I’d won the title, and I did win it….just not for very long. So now, I’ll concentrate on getting it back…..starting next week.
BK and his family leave the ring together, and the audience cheers them without restraint. Rose watches them go; BK has his reunion, but her separation from the man she loves is only just beginning. But she knows, just as sure as day follows night, that they too will become one again…..someday.
Rose hands her belt to druid #2, and she supports Ridley as they walk back up the ramp; Ridley keeps her eyes on her…..because she will be the force that drives him though the ordeal to come, and his reason to survive at all.
Some hearts have travelled through hell and survived, while others have yet to make that journey……and so the saga of ACW will continue, into its Winter of Discontent…and beyond.
Fade to Black.
End of show.

*Holds back tears...can't...NOOOOOOOO* That was amazing! New Tag Team Champions!!! Oh, and what was everyone's opinion on the Asylum. If you didn't notice, I wrote it. My first match that I've written in a LONG time, so I'd like some feedback. Keep in mind, it wasn't supposed to be some intelligent match going for Match of the Year, it was supposed to be an ultra-violent spot fest. Thoughts?
