Match 6: 6 person Tag Match: Bladeshadow / V3 / Double – oh 4 vs Kane / White Rose / Sylvian “Pay Day” Mint
The main event arrives, and the whole arena is buzzing as Philip gets ready to announce the arrival of the participants.
Philip: Ladies and Gentlemen, we have come to the final match of the evening…..it is a 6 person tag match, set for one fall.
Rock & Roll all Night by Kiss blares over the arena speakers, and a now familiar limousine slides elegantly into the arena.
Philip: Entering first, from Hollywood California……….Sylvian “Pay Day” Mint!
Mint climbs out of the car, a sour look upon his face; he is still not keen to take part in the match, and he angrily flips off the crowd in response to their taunts.
“Scars of Time” hits, and the atmosphere cools noticeably as Alexandra Kaesar appears on the stage.
Philip: Next, from St Petersburg Russia…………one half of the WCW Tag Team Champions, The White Rose!
Rose stalks to the ring; the fans at the front seem genuinely unnerved by the look in her eyes. She enters the ring and gives Sylvian only the most cursory of greetings. Then the arena is bathed in red and orange light as the final member of the heel team approaches…….
Philip: And the final member of the first team…………….Kane!
Kane comes purposefully to the arena, intending to get the match over with as quickly as possible. He gives the other two a sharp glare; Rose responds in kind, while Sylvian looks just a little intimidated.
Drowning Pool’s “The Game” bursts into life, and the whole arena rises as the face team enter side by side.
Philip: And now, introducing their opponents…………Double oh Four, V3, and the WCW Champion – Bladeshadow!
Blade, V3 and 004 make their way to the ring, greeting the fans as they go; unlike the heels they seem to have no concerns over working with one another. They climb into the ring and face off against their opponents; Kane and Sylvian taunt the faces, while Rose just gives them all an icy stare. The referee steps in to stop the match from getting out of hand before it even begins; Kane comes forward for the heel team but Rose pushes him back, obviously wanting the starting slot herself. For a second it looks as if the pair will come to blows, but instead Kane shrugs and backs down, opting to let Rose take on the fresh opponents. 004 steps out to meet Rose, and the other 4 men are sent to their corners as the match finally gets underway.
Bell Rings.
004 and Rose have not previously met in the ring, but this does not prevent them from steaming straight into a direct attack on one another. 004 has no qualms about fighting a woman and he lets fly with a string of powerful blows; Rose however blocks the worst of these and grabs 004’s right arm, twisting it viciously and combining this with kicks to 004’s mid section. Once 004 has been weakened a little, Rose arm drags him to the mat; with 004 down, Rose uses her technical skill to apply a half nelson hold, and 004’s shoulder is put under a great deal of pressure. 004 realises that he cannot win by battling Rose where she is strongest, and he uses his free arm to elbow his way out of the hold. 004 gets back up, and as Rose does the same he irish whips her into the ropes; he follows part of the way so that Rose does not have time to counter his clothesline. Rose is knocked over, and before she can get up again 004 hits a strong Military Press that drives Rose straight into the mat. 004 makes a pin, but Rose breaks free well before the 2 count is given. Rose is a little dizzy, but she can see that she has had some success in wearing down 004, and she delays him with a swift application of her “mark of the rose” (doublearm DDT) before approaching her own corner. Sylvian sees that 004 is down and he is keen to switch in, but Rose decides to let Kane have a little fun instead and the two make the tag.
Kane enters the ring and heads over to 004; Rose’s move has worked as planned, and Kane is easily able to intercept 004 before he is able to get anywhere near his own corner. 004 figures that the best defence is attack, and he throws all his weight behind blows to Kane’s body; Kane though just soaks up the punches before flooring 004. V3 and Blade shout to their partner, and Kane moves in for a powerslam; 004 though is not entirely out of it, and he rolls over so that Kane misses him. 004 dashes for the corner; Kane pursues and grabs him, but 004 just manages to touch V3’s hand and the referee signals the tag as being successful. V3 jumps into the action, and he and 004 take full advantage of the 5 second grace period to lay into Kane, just about managing to bring the massive man down to the mat. 004 leaves the ring, following the ref’s order; V3 meanwhile uses a double leg drop to Kane’s throat and makes a quick cover. The referee is almost at 2 before Kane shoves V3 off of him, looking more than a little ticked off. V3 backs away a little as Kane gets back to his feet; V3 runs forward and tries to knock Kane down again, but Kane is too strong and V3 simply does himself damage, running into Kane’s lowered shoulder. Kane is in no mood to mess about; he swiftly hits a Darkside Slam and pins, but V3 raises a shoulder at 2.5. Kane is not amused, and the ring shudders as he delivers his Rain of Pain finisher. V3 is well out of it, and Kane walks around the ring, taunting the crowd……..but as he comes near his own corner, suddenly Sylvian reaches out and tags himself in, keen to score the victory himself now that Kane has done the dirty work for him.
The referee sees the tag; Kane is angered by Mint’s actions, and he argues as the referee enforces the switch. Mint gives Kane a condescending smile as he drops down for the cover, and Kane is extremely close to beating down his own teammate. However Rose tells Kane to save it for later, and Kane grudgingly follows the referee’s orders. The upshot of the whole thing is that V3 gets an extended period to recover, and when the referee finally starts to count V3 kicks out with authority just after 2. Mint realises that his strategy has failed, but to his credit he now puts full effort into the match; V3 is considerably taller than his opponent, but Mint makes his punches and kicks count and he forces V3 back into one of the neutral corners. Mint uses a number of shoulders to V3’s gut to make him slip down into a sitting position; Mint now has access to V3’s head and he focuses his attacks there, dizzying his opponent. Once V3 is suitably subdued, Mint pulls him a little way from the corner and then climbs up for a flying leg drop; the pin is made, but despite everything V3 still manages to break out just before 3. The crowd shouts for V3, and Mint is enraged; V3 tries to roll away and moves closer to the heel corner. Mint decides to use his Five Star Knee Drop, and climbs the turnbuckle at his own corner; he prepares for lift – off, but just before he jumps Kane takes his revenge and tags himself back in. Mint leaps into the move, but the tag distracts him and he misses V3; Kane is already in the ring, but V3 hears Bladeshadow yelling to him, and he manages to half run, half crawl to make the switch just in time before Kane pulls him back.
