The Hunter Situation continues to escalate, especially after the situations that have happened over the past few weeks. Dedicated ACW fans continue to search desperately for any signs as to who Richard Russell is, and the debate on whether or not this is all worked continues to rage. The Montreal Screwjob-style situation that happened on Fallout between Hunter and Adrienne Frost seems to be just as real as the screwjob from which it was no doubt inspired. But why exactly would Fallout management attempt to do this to Hunter?
The common theory is that it was a simple statement from Fallout, as if saying "we don't fear you [ACW], and we can beat you any time no matter what." Of course, this can be debated, given that (as much as Biff denies it) Hunter did not tap out. Hunter was said to be furious with the situation, and said that if he ever runs across any Fallout supporters, he will "beat them within an inch of their life, take a breather, and then beat the rest of their life out of them."
On Monday, Ginger made a No Holds Barred match between Hunter and Chance Emmerson, a decision that did not sit well with the two competitors. But Ginger couldn't be more pleased. Said the Chairman: "I think that the match will be a huge draw, and will be a fantastic match on top of that. These two have never met in the ring, and this just makes it even more exciting." When asked who Richard Russell is, Ginger replied with a stern "no comment."
So as Emperor of the Ring draws ever closer, one cannot help but be curious as to who Richard Russell really is. Some fans have stated that they'll be watching the show just to find out ("the Emperor of the Ring final is just a bonus," said one fan), proving that controversy truly does create cash. Hunter has stated that he will "definitely reveal who Richard Russell is," and that no one will stop him. But knowing the Chairman...well, things don't always go as well as you'd hope.
