In controversial first words when speaking about his retirement, Dan White had this to say in his blog:
"I realise how big the Dan White franchise can become. I've had movie contracts thrown in my face, and record deals coming my way. But at Heatwave I realised that I cannot afford to get myself seriously injured. Here I am in a state where I am unable to move my neck properly due to what Starkweather did to me at that show, and although I'll be fit and rarring to go in another month or so, I have to ensure that I'm going to be able to create the Dan White name. I mean look at the possibilites. I can become bigger than Jesus. This is all I have to say at this time, but I can confirm that I am definately retired from the ring at this time in my life. Will I return to the ring? Doubtful."
Many fans appeared dissapointed, but accepted Dan's decision. Others however have seen him as a "prima donna", a "sellout" and has "turned his back on wrestling". Others suggest he's even bigger than Jesus, claiming that the site Googlefight already holds the answer, as shown in this link:
