As everyone knows, Hunter made some odd comments at the start of tonight's Meltdown, and these comments have been all the rage in the wrestling community. In summation, Hunter complained about being booked to lose against people he found inferior. The true debate, however, is on whether or not this is a work.
The reaction of the ring crew to Hunter's statements was definitely real, but the fact that he was not stopped by someone of greater power in the company proves to be suspicious. It is even more suspicious that Hunter was allowed to wrestle his match with the Hitman of the Gods.
Speaking of this match, many fans noticed that the ending seemed slightly askew. We have unconfirmed reports that this was because Hitman was booked to win, so as to continue his push, but Hunter went against script and kicked out, and then rolled up Hitman for his victory. These sources refused to name themselves, and that is all they would share about the situation. Re-watching this match, one can easily see that the referee and Hitman were both genuinely surprised at what happened (not to mention that the referee paused before counting the pin), but it is also well known that ACW is fond of doing twists aplenty, especially Hunter himself.
If this is a worked storyline, however, then Hunter's fellow wrestlers surely know nothing of it. Former ACW World Champion Alicia "Atomic" Kitsune had this to say:
"Hunter was always such a foundation of the company, but it looks like his feats really were made of clay."
"It was the type of crap that should earn that overpaid, overrated primadonna a suspension indefinitely," said a currently retired Dan White, a statement which was later agreed with by a nearby Jonny Spade.
The general consensus was that there was too much swearing, reminiscent of returning ACW wrestler TNT. There were also many complaints about Hunter's supposed defamation of Jonny Spade, leading many to claim Jonny's superiority to Hunter, as well as calling Hunter a "selfish prick."
Chairman Gingerdude and his staff could not be reached for comment, and so far no punishment has been announced for Hunter. Take this how you will, but it is most definitely alluring. We shall keep you posted as more news on this matter surfaces.
