This event was not as good as I thought it would be with the card it had. I was so excited for it but it turned out meh. Well let me get on with the review.
United States Championship
Orlando Jordan vs Chris Benoit
Had to be the best 22 seconds of the show besides the Vince for President in 2008 thing. Although the match was too short, Benoit got straight to the point and saved me 20 minutes of rest holds ala GAB 2005. So all in all I give this match a 4/10.
Winner: And new US Champion, Chris Benoit.
Matt Hardy vs Edge
With all the hype up for this match with the attacks on show, verbal promos, the Byte This this turned out to be the most disappointing match on the card. I know it wasn't supposed to be about wrestling but this was awful. And the way the match ended was awful when Edge won after the referee had to stop the match (after Matt said no one would a few weeks back). But I guess they are carrying it over into Unforgiven. I rate this match a 5/10, because Edge won and I was hoping he would.
Winner: Edge obviously.
Ladder Match for Dominick
Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio
Match of the Night in my opinion. All the great ladder spots and more. The involvment of Dominick and Eddie's wife was great. Minus the botch by Eddie (which wasn't really his fault), it was great. Stole the show by far. I give it a 8.5/10. Now these two can move on to bigger and better things now that this feud is over.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Kurt Angle vs Eugene
Sad thing is I don't remember a lot of this match besides the Stunner, Rockbottom, and the failed attempt at the people's elbow. I would assume it wasn't too great, it ended a little early. Deserves easily a 5/10.
Winner: Kurt Angle
[Insert Vince for President in 2008 Segment, That >>> All]
Undertaker vs Randy Orton
With their second encounter they didn't do too much to surpass their Wrestlemania 21 encounter. It was a good match though, Taker actually jobbed clean kinda. Well, not really. Lots of back and forth action, I'll give it a 7.5/10.
*Bob Orton Pose*
Winner: Randy Orton
WWE Championship
John Cena vs Chris Jericho
One of Cena's best matches this year by far, Cena held is own but Jericho was a great factor in the greatness of this match. I really thought for a second that Jericho was going to win, this match Cena actually pulled out another old move from his arsenal. I give it an 8/10 because I really enjoyed the match. Now onto Cena vs Angle at Unforgiven.
Winner: And still WWE Champion, John Cena.
World Championship
Batista vs JBL
Horrible. Dud. *gags* 4/10
Winner: And still World Champion, Batista.
Icon vs Legend
Shawn Michaels vs Hulk Hogan
A great encounter by the two, HBK was over selling the moves a little too much for my standards, but great match. I was hoping Hogan would pull out some more moves out of his arsenal, possibly a dropkick. Ending was ok, I give it a 7.5/10. *Thumbs up*
Winner: Hollywood Hulk Hogan
Overall I'd say I give this PPV a 6.5/10. It wasn't as great as it was hyped up to be. Could've been better, wasn't better than Vengeance but better than GAB. I'm still getting the DVD though.
