As reported earlier this week in the PWInsider.com Elite section, World Wrestling Entertainment officials have made an effort to tone down several high flying moves, putting the word out that there is an unofficial ban of sorts on both the 450 splash and the shooting star press. The edict, said to have come down from Vince McMahon, is due to several recent injuries from the moves (Billy Kidman giving Chavo Guerrero a concussion with a shooting star, Juventud Guerrera nailing Paul London with a knee to the face with a 450 and causing a major scare, most notably). The edict actually went out about two weeks back to the Cruiserweights. When Paul London used a shooting star against Nunzio on a recent edition of Velocity, he was told not to do it again by WWE officials and to come up with a new finisher. London was said to have been noticeably upset about being told to tone down his style. It will be interesting to see how far the ban goes in what other top rope maneuvers are toned down and whether it will be similar to the tombstone/piledriver, where WWE will only allow Kane and The Undertaker to use the moves on big shows for dramatic effect.

First they screw the Hurricane, NOW LONDON!!!!!!!
The next move:
WWE decides to ban all wrestling. Some of the wrestlers are angry at this, but the divas don't care. In other news, Vince decides to hold the third diva search, when there isn't just 1 winner, there are 16! So all the girls who make it to the final round, get a contract.

That is why TNA and ROH deserve a lot more credit, as they put less restrictions on the workrate of their talents.

In other news, the lateral press pin has been banned because parents get the wrong idea when showing it to their children. Instead of a pin, a wrestler is required to put a blanket over the opponent, put a pillow under his head and ask if he's comfy.

The wrestlers have no reason to be pissed. If they didn't fuck up and damn near kill someone evertime they attempt one of these moves, the WWE would never have to had make a ruling on this. This will also make it so people have to have other moves. I don't know about you but I don't mark out upon seeing either one of those cliche'd moves done.
WWE has made some questionable calls but this is not really one of them. I am more upset that people can't do piledrivers.

So essentially, WWE is trying to screw over Paul London? Bah, they are taking out the CW's one at a time!

This harshly reminds me that CM Punk will NEVER be seen doing the Pepsi Plunge. Not only is it a dangerous move, I'm sure the world's largest nose (HHH) wouldn't want someone doing a top rope version of his finisher.

why not just punish the wrestlers who F*** up the moves? Paul London never did the SSP wrong. The whole point of the cruiser division is to be different from the heavyweights, to be the matches with the big spots, the quick action, etc. they are small so they don't get hurt as easily as the big guys who try this.
WWE needs to either get rid of the cruiser division and put them in the U.S. division (that'd make it at least interesting) or fire them and they can go to TNA. Or, another thought send them down to ROH (glorified WWE territory) so they can help out the guys down there.

Actually ROH is more or less TNA territory, to be totally honest. OVW, Ohio Valley Wrestling, is where WWE sends their workers to train. TNA trusts their talents to do things correctly, as does ROH, as both promotions have workers that know what they're doing (with the exception of a minute few in TNA).
On another note, I'm ashamed the WWE is sending CM Punk to OVW, especially after his final stint with ROH. It just goes to show that the E themselves don't know what they're doing at all., unless he miraculously becomes one of the head instructors there, which I doubt.
