Now, I know what you're thinking...wait...wait...this still exists??!! I THOUGHT FREEMAN FORGOT ABOUT THIS!
No way. I remembered. I was just up to September in shows. And as of now, I am caught up totally. And that took a LOT of time by the way. But anyways...here we go. The....ACW....POWER....15!!!!!
This spans the month of December, ending at Winter's Discontent...in case you were wondering.
15. Simba Mufasa
Well, who doesn't love Simba Mufasa? He's everybody's favorite jobber named after a Disney movie. The guy is just amazing. Now, I don't know about you...but I'd say he's definitely going to be a future ACW world heavyweight champion. He's probably going to be the first guy to hold all four belts at once, and instantly reinstate the tag titles, only to hold them with his mane. The guy was watching and waiting this month....so we didn't hear that much from him...but when he DID strike, he struck with a VENGEANCE, defeating the ever competent JJB in a no disqualification match, by rollup...(And it takes a REAL man to make that a credible finisher.) JJB hasn't been quite the same since THAT match. And in case you were wondering who attacked Hunter at the end of Winter's Discontent...this is that guy. Hunter vs Simba Mufasa. Ragnarok. Call it....I think I've kinda....went through with this joke for all it was worth...so now onto the next one...
14. Ricky Falcon
The beginning of our list seems to be cluttered with people...who, simply were not there for much of the month. In Falcon's sole match, he did manage to defeat JJB however, and a win is a win, right? Since losing his Entertainment title, one can say that Falcon seems to have lost some of his fire. Apparently, he has gotten a new manager...(aptly named Man Ager, which...if you didn't get it, spells...MANAGER!), however since that revelation, we have yet to see him. Is Falcon getting a new makeover? Shall he pop up when we least expect it? Let's hope so, because he is certainly a promising superstar.
13. BK London
Speaking of not doing much the whole month...where was this guy? Just because his wife left him, his house burned down, and he had his legs broken, he can't even show up for work? Even maybe...just for an interview? Well, in any case, while he didn't have a match...that's not all you need to make this list. BK London didn't do enough to make it high up, but even his one return by stopping Flamingo's assault on Senator, was a great, surprising moment. There is no doubt that the fans have wanted to see this man back for weeks to get his revenge, and now that he's here...he'll finally be able to take care of the man who put him on the shelf back over the summer. And everybody knows that BK London vs Adrian Flamingo has potential to be one of the greatest feuds of the year.
12. AK
And where was SHE this month? Apparently she was somewhere else...maybe the stress from stopping the destruction of the world as we know it from being destroyed finally caught up to her? (By the way, that little feat surely would have put her on number 1 last month, if I was caught up in time.) Despite her limited appearances, she did have a win against Jay Zero...the current light heavyweight champion. And that should never be taken lightly. She also buried Ginger apparently...and his fate is currently unknown.
11. Jay Zero
A bit surprisingly, Jay Zero marks pretty low on the list. The guy was in the main event of Winter's Discontent, but unfortunately, despite a staggering amount of appearances, he failed to do really...anything. Sure, he talked a lot, and cost Jonny Hughes a match...but maybe next time he should concentrate on winning HIMSELF a match. He lost to AK, and he lost the main event at Winter's Discontent...he managed to defend his title against Flamingo, but only because he was assaulted during the match, and won by DQ, and he went to a no-contest with Hunter in the beginning of the month, ending in a brawl that he did not get the upperhand in...Still, he was definitely on the screen a lot, and that DOES count for something...and even though he didn't have a win, he is above some people on this list who did.
10. Jason Freeman
And now we start getting into the hard part of the month to list. You see, nobody really had an outstanding month, or a terrible one, so from this point on, the line is a little blurred. But, I digress, and am wasting time in this entry. Jason Freeman didn't have an eventful month in the ring...(Though he did defeat DiaVolo, he was defeated by Hughes and TK, and went to a no contest against Snake/TK in a tag match) his personal career was quite eventful. After finally coming to the realization that the Entourage was definitely not the right path for him, he finally turned on Thunderkiss, and rejoined the Senatorial Stable. It was certainly a move that was a long time coming, and while the stable may not have accepted him yet, it may just be a matter of time. He was sure that he would defeat Thunderkiss at Winter's Discontent, but unfortunately he was unable to do so...even after Thunderkiss had already gone through a tough match. This hurts Freeman on the list, however...as stated, his final turn on Thunderkiss gives him enough momentum to stay afloat in the top 10, and one can only guess what will happen for Freeman in the new year.
9. XS3
And slightly ABOVE Freeman on the list, is one of the other men who faced Thunderkiss at Winter's Discontent...and also the man who helped Freeman get his revenge. XS3 did not end up facing Thunderkiss at Winter's Discontent, but, he did manage to defeat Adrian Flamingo, which is SURELY a feat that many people may be struggling to do soon. It seems that we have seen the last of this man in the ring, however, it is sad, because he had a lot of potential. If he had managed to defeat Thunderkiss, who knows where he'd be? In the end, he had a number of impressive victories, and lost competitive matches to very good opponents.
8. Senator
The Senator Steve Phillips managed to have some of the best and most competitive matches of the month! Both of his contests with Jon Taylor were VERY close...although one of them ended in him losing his title. This did not happen, however, before leading a record-setting reign. He also managed to defeat XS3, and wrestle a great match with Adrian Flamingo at Winter's Discontent. Even though Senator may not look back at the month and say it went well, in the end, it's the quality that counts.
7. Rattlesnake
Over the past month, many cryptic messages were showing on Warfare. Who could it be? Had Chris Jericho went to ACW? Was it all a technological glitch, or some error? WAS IT NICK DURDEN??!! No, it wasnt, because if it was, there probably would have been more lyrics, and less Roman numerals. Either way, it was Rattlesnake, rocking new hair, and a new willingness to help Thunderkiss. Unfortuantely, he then got a mace stuck in his back. Now, while he may have only wrestled once...he did so against a fresh Thunderkiss, and he managed to win. With Thunderkiss's recent momentum, a win against him definitely means something...and if Snake keeps it up...who knows? Could we maybe have a new contender to the title picture?
6. Adrian Flamingo
Surely Flamingo would have been higher on this list...had it not been so tough to pick a Top 5. By no means, however, did Flamingo not have a great week. He managed to defeat the Senator by knockout inside of a steel cage...and he should definitely be posting about that one. He was also able to defeat Andrew Starr. Otherwise however, nothing too eventful. He lost a couple matches, and honestly, didn't do much else. He has high potential to reach number 1 next month though, if he manages to make an impact on BK London. It's make or break time...but I WILL call this one. By the end of 2008, Flamingo will have broken through to the point where he is considered in the same light as every single main eventer in this company. If he still has his eyes set on the International title...it's possible he may be able to do it. And now that he has his uncle helping him...even if he's not too happy about that fact, he may have a little extra help.
5. Jon Taylor
And the Top 5 starts, with our new International champion Jon Taylor. The guy has only just started with the company in the past couple of months, and he is already a champion! He started his month off great by winning a Triangle of Perfection challenge, against some random guy...(HEY, the list is kayfabe! I have no choice but to count it!) And then went on to shock the world when he made Senator submit! Surely he could have made number 1, except that was his only win of the month, and he had no PPV match to speak of. Even though the potential to make an even huger impact was not realized...he did enough to crack the Top 5, and he is definitely another superstar to watch in 2008. Will he break Senator's title reign? I dunno...there are a couple of challengers who might just take it from him.
4. Hunter:
Ah our world heavyweight champion. This is another case of a guy who said a lot...but...just...didn't seem to do anything in the long run! He did do more than a lot of other people though. His win in the main event in the PPV was at least half his work (though he'd probably put the fraction a bit higher)...and he was the only person this month to succesfully (DECISIVELY! ) defend his title...although a more credible challenger would have been nice. Eh, whatever, he was just kinda there. He did more than a lot of people, but not enough to crash the Top 3. Surely when he sees the people he lost to...he will not be happy.
3. Andrew Starr
You have no idea how many times I write this guys name Austin Starr, and then have to change it. I hate him for having to make it so similar. In any case, you might be confused as to why he's on the top 3...but he is one of two people that actually managed to get three wins this month. One of the ONLY two people to do so. His wins specifically were against Dan White, Jonny Hughes, and Shikari...and although he lost to Flamingo, and lost the main event of the PPV...he did manage to win #1 contender status for the Entertainment title. All in all, he probably impressed many people with his ability to become a focus of the show, and he pulled it off wonderfully.
2. Thunderkiss
Thunderkiss's stance on this list is debatable, but I would say that it just has to do with the fact that...well...it was just so darn close. Thunderkiss started off great with a win against Latino, but then things started going downhill fast. After just having to deal with the betrayal of his friend XS3, he then was betrayed by Freeman. In the end, he was pushed to his limit, and after a crazed attack with a mace to Rattlesnake, TK decided to take on the world! All three men he wanted to crush! Although he wasn't succesful in doing so to Rattlesnake, and X pulled out, he DID manage to defeat Jason Freeman, and in the end had to wrestle for around 45 minutes straight. TK's gauntlet was definitely the most epic moment of the month...and TK DOES always deliver.
1. Jonny Hughes
Now HERE's a surprise. But all in all...Jonny Hughes BLEW away everybody else this week. He also had three wins...against Silencio, Jason Freeman...and then at the PPV, Andrew Starr and Jay Zero. At the same time, one of his losses to Starr, was only as a result of interference. Had he not been attacked by Zero, he would have won that match and had 4 wins under his belt. Even with three, he still beats everybody else except for Starr. The difference also, was that his last win was in the main event of a PPV...his first main event. Not only that, but it was HE who got the pin (albeit thanks to a double team) Can you wait to see where THIS one goes? Id say he's definitely going to make a great Entertainment Champion.
No way. I remembered. I was just up to September in shows. And as of now, I am caught up totally. And that took a LOT of time by the way. But anyways...here we go. The....ACW....POWER....15!!!!!
