Yeah, you know that hiatus thing? That I took? The one where I stopped doing this, and told everybody about it, and everybody knew? And I had a perfectly good reason besides...procrastination?! Yeah? >_>? Well, IT'S BACK BABY!
Now, before we get into the REAL edition 1 here (Since this is like STARTING ANEW!) I would like to discuss what exactly a Power 15 is. The Power 15 is a list. Not just any list. A COOL list. A list that lists people in order of impact, and AWESOMENESS! It is an influential list, and is definately official despite people who say otherwise.
And let us discuss the origin of the word "Power 15" what does that mean exactly? Well...?
Okay, fine, I'll stop, let's jump right in.
(BTW, THIS IS ONLY COUNTING UP TO LAST THURSDAY! THE NEXT EDITION WILL COVER FROM MONDAY TO THE PPV NEXT WEEK!)
15. DiaVolo
I will never get the fascination of capitalizing random letters in the middle of your name. Like VorteX...or...I dunno...like this. What's the point? Is this some kind of latin phrase or something? I'm not quite sure if this name really means much, but luckily we are not judging this list based on your name (I am sure that if we were, Erick Wilson would have made this list. Cmon...he spells it Erick! That's AWESOME!...and for those who don't know who that guy is...neither do I...he went against some Hangtime guy on the first Meltdown after the PPV. If you are wondering who THAT is...well...I can't help you there...) But man...am I side tracked today, back to the subject at hand. DiaVolo. What did DiaVolo do you ask? He did in fact get beaten up by Red though (Which was extremely controversial and very funny) and he did lose two matches against Lambert and Hughes, and so right now you may be thinking "Why is this guy on the list"? Well, he ALSO got two wins. He defeated Red, and he also defeated Ricky Falcon, the Entertainment Champion, which is definately an accomplishment
14. Echo:
Now look who it is, coming in at Number 14. A very new superstar, but one who has no doubt made an impact...she's certainly very creepy...and certainly somebody that you probably wouldn't want to fight. She kills people...I think. I dunno...but in any case, she definitely got some pretty momentous wins this week, but unfortunately did not do much more than wrestle. She managed to defeat Andrew Williams, and she also managed a handicapped win with AK against Jay Zero. She actually made Zero tap out! I believe this was the first time that Zero ever tapped, and I find that fact so amazingly amusing that Echo gets on this list no matter WHAT. Unfortunately I didn't want to seem..."biased"...or whatever, so...I couldn't give her a boost for the Zero submission. Echo surely is an impressive foe, and in the future will most definately be somebody to look out for.
13. Scott Andrews
Ah, the sad story of Scott Andrews...the guy's...GONE, guys. HE'S GONE!!! That's horrible, and he is the only one of the recent departures to actually make this list! That's saying something. Scott actually did a lot this month. He finally left the Senatorial Stable, feeling that it wasn't doing enough for him, and since then however, he didn't do much at all. He did have three matches, but was unable to secure a win. A loss to XS3 (though, not cleanly) and AK gets him low on this list. He also had a draw with Rattlesnake. His matches were definitely hard-fought and very good, but a lack of significant impact puts him relatively low on this list.
12. AK
Strangely, we didn't see much of AK this month so far. She has seemingly been in the shadows, doing nothing. She met with the Senatorial Stable, and it seemed she might join, but...in the end, it was not to be. AK however, did have two matches, both of which she left with a win. A win over Scott Andrews, and then later a win over Zero in a handicapped match with Echo as her partner. If AK had done something to make a significant impact coming off of her amazing Hell in a Cell match with Starkweather at Heatwave, she could have placed very high on this list. Hopefully, she will be on our screens more in the upcoming weeks before Emperor of the Ring.
11. FSX
Another one on this list who did not seem to be doing much this week. FSX did have a decent amount of matches, and did escape with two wins. One was against JJB, and the other against Freeman and Zero (by countout.) He also lost to Senator, who then went on to advance in EOTR. FSX also seemed to spend a lot of time saying random funny stuff with his stable, and getting beaten up by TK...hopefully FSX will be able to get some revenge. Thunderkiss better be careful, because I sincerely doubt that FSX is going to let TK get away with what he did to him
10. Adrian Flamingo
WHAT??!! Flamingo SO LOW??!! BIAS! BIAS! BIAS! No, really, sorry guys, but that's where he placed in. Not to say that Adrian Flamingo is not a very impressive superstar. His mic skills are unrivaled, and he can cut an amazing promo as often as he wants...unfortunately, that wasn't enough this week. It was not a bad performance from Flamingo, so much as a superior performance from the nine superstars above him. Flamingo did however get a win over Falcon (That's the Entertainment Champion, you know...) and a win against Freeman. Unfortunately however, Freeman got the last laugh. Freeman's win was actually a tournament match however, and there fore counts a little more in these rankings. Flamingo has been on a real role lately, and if the impact he got at Heatwave when he took BK London out of action continues, surely he will be approaching the top five on this list soon.
9. Jason Freeman
Not the best month that Freeman could have had surely, but he definately got a major upset when he defeated Flamingo in the tournament to advance to the semi-finals (Especially because Flamingo defeated him two weeks prior A fact, I might add, that Flamingo doesn't seem to notice, as he apparently "Never holds a win against Freeman"...it should also be known that Flamingo also defeated Freeman about two months ago or so.......*Cough*.) Anywaaaaaaaaaaaays, in addition to that, Freeman had a tag loss against FSX and Senator, when his fighting with Jay Zero stopped his chances of winning, and he got counted out. It seems that tensions are continuously rising between Zero and Freeman, who have never actually had a one-on-one match. Who knows...? Maybe that could be coming soon in the future? In any case, Freeman seems to have been doing a bit better since he left the Senatorial Stable at least, and hopefully he will be able to continue his forward momentum.
8. Jay Zero
Jay Zero originally wasn't on this list, but HE WHINED AND COMPLAINED THAT HE GOT SCREWED, SO I HAD TO PUT HIM ON!
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry Zero...I can never resist that joke. You say I repeat it, but it's because it never gets old...anyways, where were we? Oh right...Jay Zero. Definately a very impressive superstar. Not that impressive a week. Of course he did manage to defeat Andrew Williams. But uh...yeah, and then he lost to Senator and FSX (due to fighting with Freeman). And then he lost to Echo and AK (After tapping out for the first time). So what makes this guy have a good week, and actually be so high on the list? Well, he was all over the place. This guy has recently been having a bit of a feud with everybody's favorite light heavyweight champions...Jake Cheng. He even stole his cameraman! Not only did Jay argue with Cheng almost weekly, he also cost Hunter a match against Jake for the championship. It's obvious Zero wants that belt, and if he sets his eyes on it, and tries hard enough, we could be having a new light heavyweight champion soon. Because of the impact involved with his feud with Cheng, Zero gets a relatively high place on this list.
7. Hunter
And Hunter chocks in at Lucky Number Seven. If only his win/loss record could be so lucky...I'll admit though that that was a bad joke, since Hunter did manage to actually get 2 wins. Of course he also had two losses. On the other hand though, while he lost to both Wyvern and Cheng, both matches were against champions, and not easy opponents. Cheng only won anyways because of Zero's interference. Hunter also holds a win over Hughes and...well...VorteX, but to be fair, VorteX was already dead....er...mortally wounded, before the match. So that wasn't really much of a challenge. Hunter has apparently set his sights on gold...and...if Ginger won't bring back the tag titles, Hunter may just have to win another belt instead. Let's hope Hunter can at least get over his ego long enough to bring his stable up from...three members.
6. XS3
And XS3 comes ever so close to getting into the Top 5, but he just falls...short. Too bad. But, in other news, he has definately been on a role lately. Let's take the fact that he managed two wins this week against Rena and Scott Andrews, both two opponents who should never be taken lightly. Also, he has been recently shooting about many main event superstars in the company, among them...Yoko Satoshi...you've gotta admire the bravery of XS3 for boldly stating that he is going to defeat Yoko...things may be looking up for XS3...it seems that in the next couple of months, he may start to become extremely big in this company. He definately has been rising in the ranks lately.
5. Starkweather
And strangely, the Top 5 opens with a guy who...didn't win ONE match this month? Nope, he did not. In fact, he didn't only not win a match, he lost THREE. THREE matches. How can he be in the Top 5? Well...you have to take a look at his opponents. Wyvern. Jake Cheng. Thunderkiss. Some of the best superstars in the company currently. Stark obviously wasn't going to have an easy time. In addition to his three amazing performances against some ACW superstars that are extremely tough to beat, Starkweather also made a huge impact when he turned on Wyvern...obviously having his sights set on Wyvern's ACW title. APPARENTLY, Stark had been planning this since the beginning! How long HAD this guy been planning this??!! Wow, Stark is cool! Manipulating people? Stabbing them in the back???!! Can't get more awesome than that. Oh wait, yes you can...you just need a solid gold belt around your waist. Will Stark get a shot at it on pay-per-view? I have a feeling he will. And very very soon.
4. Wyvern
Speaking of the world championship, let's mention...the world champion. Wyvern has not been seen much this month, and in fact had not done much more besides talking to Starkweather. Number 4 may then seem like a stretch, but it is not. Wyvern managed to get a win over Hunter and a win over Starkweather, post amazing feats. The momentous impact of his wins were what got him up to this high a spot, and it's always great to see Wyvern show us why he is the champion. His championship reign has been going on for a very long time...and who knows? Maybe he can break the record? In any case, he has Starkweather to worry about, and not to mention whoever wins the Emperor of the Ring tournament. He better watch his back...things could be getting tough very very soon.
3. Jake Cheng
Yeah, TK would call him a tiny man, Zero would call him Chong, but I call him Number 3 on this list! Now Jake certainly didn't have...the BEST, most amazing week, but in a list where everybody was extremely close this week, he edges above based on his wins. Starweather was the first to fall to him, which came as a surprise to many people, since Jake was probably the underdog in that match. Later on, Jake managed to defend his light heavyweight title against Hunter, even though it was by interference from Zero. Since breaking apart from Top Draw, Jake has kept getting better and better. Now he has to worry about Jay Zero. His title could be taken away before he knows it. And what's the deal with Stan? Is there some plan there? Did Stan give away valuable information or is it a TRICK??!! The drama increases! WHO KNOWS WHERE THIS TALE SHALL GO!
2. The Senator
Senator had a great week, and this last choice was a hard one. Senator was actually the only person to get three wins (Zero/Freeman, VorteX, FSX) and certainly had a lot of screen time. This guy was on the screen arguably more than anybody else in the company these past couple of shows. He is definately a possibly favorite for a win in the Emperor of the Ring tournament, and was able to continue to wrestle despite aggravating injuries. He refused to give up, and showed the heart to compete that he always demonstrates. Why is he number 2 you may ask? Well, it was a hard decision, but it all stemmed from a match against Thunderkiss. Distracted for a second, he was SLAMMED right off the apron, into the barricade, and was in the hospital (which was obviously not a very pleasant experience for him). Without that one loss and injury there, he may have been number 1. Unfortunately, he has to be content to be number 2. I think he should be content to have gotten back to action as soon as he did, as a serious injury could have occurred, and taken him out for good. Senator has proven that he isn't going to stop fighting until he dies trying, but lets just hope it doesn't come to that...
1. Thunderkiss
And obviously, one can guess who's coming in first from who came in second. Yes, Thunderkiss made an AMAZING impact lately. It seems that he is getting the upperhand on everybody in his way. Whether it's injuring the Senator, Slamming FSX, Defeating Starkweather, etc...things are just going great. Thunderkiss also recently put a bounty on Senator's head. This has yet to be mentioned again, but who knows if somebody is going to be interested in this? Should Senator be watching his back? Well...ALL of ACW should be watching their back as long as Thunderkiss is ready to rise to the top. He didn't enter the Emperor of the Ring tournament, but he has come very close to getting a title shot, as he almost defeated BK for his title shot at Heatwave. So close to a title shot, and then suddenly torn away...I have doubts that Thunderkiss is going to be forgetting that any time soon. He is obviously hungry for another shot, and who knows when it will finally present itself. The fans have also started to get behind him, and now it's time for him to take ACW by storm. He's going to defeat the champions, one by one.
Now, before we get into the REAL edition 1 here (Since this is like STARTING ANEW!) I would like to discuss what exactly a Power 15 is. The Power 15 is a list. Not just any list. A COOL list.
