Yes, I'm keeping the terrible name for old times sake. :-p
Basically, I'm going to point out a few things and give my honest opinion on today's episode of Meltdown.
I'll start off by saying that I really can't say anything bad about today's episode. As a whole, it was strong and well written.
Some things I noticed:
--- The segment titled "Stablility" that started off the show was a rather nice segment. I've been brutally honest on my feelings of the stable in the past. For the longest time I felt that they weren't a true stable and were just a very, very, very loose group of people without a common goal.
This segment was a large step in the right direction. It does wonders for the stable, and they should do stuff like this more often. People will actually realize that they're a stable now. I must say, however, that I'm a little unsure about the expansion that happened later in the show. Adding a fourth member may help things.
--- "10,000 Things I Hate About You" was a very well put together segment. I make a rule not to review my own segments, but this was about 70% AK. I asked her to do something with me on Friday, I think... Then, she got this segment in a slightly different form back to me later that night...waaaaaaaaaaaay past her bedtime, I believe.
For those of you with long memories... Umeko and AK have disliked each other for quite some time now...it's probably the longest running side-feud I've ever done that hasn't gotten physical. I think this is a very nice new addition to things, and does quite a bit of nice foreshadowing.
--- "The Changing of the Times" by Scott Andrews was also a nice segment that I thought was concise and to the point. It was down to earth, and it shows what we can expect from the Andrews character from the time being. The only negative I can note is that some of his dialogue made me roll my eyes. Not becaue it was bad, but it'd be something I'd hate about Scott Andrews if I was a fan.
--- The International Title Match between Starkweather and AK is also worth mentioning. It was a very good match that made both competitors look strong. I thought it was a very strong match.
--- "Inferno" by Hunter was pretty nice. There was something I didn't like about it on the side, but I can't put my finger on it. All and all though, I think it's worth reading. It gives you a good feel of the character.
--- "Snaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake! It's not over yet!" by BK London was very good as well. It showcased the tenacity and slight insanity of Fallout Talent Daniel Ness. All and all, it's used to build up a match they have on Monday, and I think it creates signifigant heat for it. Ness' last line is a classic. All and all, I thought this was one of BK's better segments in some time.
--- "Maelstrom" by Hunter and Starkweather was one of the more interesting segments on the show. It starts what seems to be either a partnership or a possible feud between two of ACW's most interesting characters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I've said before, there wasn't a bad segment on the card and they all seemed to be constructively building towards something. While this wasn't a long show...it was one of the most readable ones we've had in a while.
