Hey, I was wondering what you guys thought of the debut of the Chef's Kitchen. This year I really want to buckle down and write better segements for the year. So Tell me what you think.

It was a pretty good segment.
Some things I'd bring up though:
Maybe cut out the song lyrics thing either completely or at least a lot. It can create an effect when used properly, but doing it in a "interviewish" type show like the Chef's Kitchen seems a bit much. Plus nearly every other segment on that show had some sort of song lyrics thrown in that probably could have been omitted.
I really do like the idea of the "Chef's Kitchen" as you can play to your gimmick and character development a lot with these segments as well as build up feuds. You did that very well with this first edition. However, I guess I was kind of hoping for more of a gimmicky thing to back it up. Like, in other words, I was a bit confused as to what the Chef's Kitchen was supposed to be. It's just an interview show like the Cutting Edge, or Piper's Pit right?
Either way, the segment didn't last too long to really build up on the interview part with TK bursting in, and the lyrics took up about half the segment. Though the whole process was very believable and I'm sure it accomplished what you wanted it to, setting things up between Durden/you and TK. I look forward to other editions of the Kitchen.
Great start, keep up the effort and maybe I can even be a guest sometime.

Yeah, less lyrics, and more meat on the table would improve the flavor of the kitchen...but I'm sure you'll get to that in later meal...er installments.

This might be off kilter, but I think the name "The Chef" Leon Chase rolls off the tongue a little better.

First installment was good, I hope to be a guest on a future edition.

Agreed with Durden here, that does make more sense.

I think you should embrace "The Chef" aspect of the character a little more. Sure, it'd make things a bit more silly, but I think it would help you stand out.
The segment had a job to do and it did it...but other than that, it really didn't stand out. However, it didn't need to. Every segment doesn't have to attempt steal the show.
It moved things foward with your storyline, but otherwise it just kind of got lost in the shuffle.
All and all, it was a solid start. I think it'll improve as time goes on.

I admit, I read Meltdown last night and got to your segment. I thought it was a good start to the revitalization of the Chef gimmick. *thumbs up*

Thanks for the advice guys. And about the name thing, you can just put it anyway you want really. I think Leon "The Chef" Chase sounds better, but hey, thats just me.
