“A man cannot be too careful in his choice of enemies”
~Oscar Wilde
The show comes back and the arena is shown again; “Hepsin Senin Mi” hits and the crowd gets on their feet for ACW’s newest duo. The first person to come out from behind the curtain is Shawn Kiev; he is wearing a dazzling white suit and has a microphone in his hand. There is an air of confidence around him that is slightly unfamiliar to the rabid ACW fans. He seems to have gained a bit of a swagger in his step after a successful week for himself and his skilled protégé. He stands at the base of the ramp and patiently awaits the arrival of his skilled client. Sakina Khalida comes out next dressed sharply in white pantsuit and a matching white Al-Amira style hijab. One could remark that their matching suits are a cute addition to their gimmick, but is actually a bit of a coincidence, but that is another story. Sakina gets a positive response from the crowd as she begins her long march to the ring. She walks slightly ahead of Kiev and waves at the crowd along the way. She smiles very brightly and it looks like she is very glad to be here. Kiev just concentrates on making his way to the ring, but he does give a few fives or handshakes on his way. He then proves that chivalry is not dead and he holds the ropes open so Sakina can enter. They walk to the center of the ring and exchange a few quick words. They stand side by side as the music stops and it looks as if Kiev is ready to address the ACW fans.
Kiev: Hello again, ACW. A few weeks ago I told you that I had not seen anybody quite like Sakina in my entire life and I think that you saw why last week. In two separate shows, my protégé and close friend Sakina Khalida showed two of ACW’s established stars just what she is made of. Predator thought that he would have a simple match against a defenseless woman, but nearly 15 minutes later, he was defeated. I can only wonder what he though as he stared into those bright lights and heard The Referee’s hand hit the might for the third time. Sakina and I weren’t even properly prepared for that match and I can only imagine how short it would had been if we had time to properly dissect his wrestling style. It is obvious that Predator was not in Sakina’s league.
The fans cheer and a small but sustained “Sakina” Chant breaks out and this causes Sakina to smile and blush just a bit. Kiev politely waits for it to die down before he continues with a stern look on his face and a very serious voice resonating from his vocal chords.
Kiev: Now on a personal note to Predator….go fuck yourself. You know, I sincerely hope that your meal ticket BK London doesn’t get tired of carrying you around on his back anytime soon, because you would probably be out of a job at this point if it wasn’t for his rather powerful influence. I mean, have you ever really done ANYTHING by yourself? Lets summarize the last few months of your career, shall we? First you leeched off of your now former tag team partner Wolf who managed by the grace of God to carry you to the Tag Team Titles and now you are trying to leech off of BK London, who was never anything more than an over hyped piece of trash anyway.
Kiev gets a massive pop from that remark and a “BK Sucks” chant breaks out, but unlike last time, Kiev barely stops and continues on his venom filled rant. Sakina stands behind him an she occasionally tries, with varying amounts of success, to whisper comments to him.
Kiev: Predator, whether you wanted to or not, you made an enemy out of me on Meltdown and I will never forgive you for what you said to Sakina during your match. You know, Sakina, bless her heart, was kind enough to not hold your remarks against you, but I tend to take things very personal. I have been in this business for 8 years now and I have seen quite a few people who are just like you Predator and they all eventually end up in the same places…..either the unemployment line or dead in a hotel room. In the end…when it’s all said and done…..your career will mean almost nothing.
Kiev stops for a second and strokes his chin as if he is thinking deeply, but suddenly his eyes open wide and he continues.
Kiev: While I am thinking about it, there is one thing you can tell to your grandchildren about your career if you are still alive when they are old enough to hear and comprehend the tale. This is assuming that a woman would degrade herself by letting somebody like you touch her, much less actually have a child with you. Of course, even if that did happen, your children would probably be so ashamed of you that they would decide not to torture another generation with your horrid genes. We will, for the sake of my point, venture into the realm of near fantasy and say that you will indeed have children and that they will have enough self esteem to have grandchildren. You can proudly tell your grandchildren that you were the first person to be beaten by Sakina Khalida and if you were ever anything in your life, you were a decent……no, an adequate stepping stone. Let’s be honest, that’s more than you could say about your career no more than a week ago……..
A “Stepping Stone” chant does not break out, but it isn’t for the lack of trying on the part of a few rabid Predator hating fans. Sakina privately chastises Kiev for being so vocal about his hatred towards Predator and he finally decides to move to a happier subject.
Kiev: So, I guess that ends my little shoot for now and I can go on to a much more respectable opponent. We had prepared a great deal for the match that happened only two days later at Fallout against Hunter. We stayed up all night for a number of days watching old poorly made tapes and carefully analyzing every move that he made in his career. We saw his evolution from clueless rookie to storied veteran. We saw him when he was at his greatest height and when he was at his lowest low. We saw his obvious strengths and learned as much as we could about his subtle weaknesses. Sakina came into that match very confident and in the best shape of her entire life, but in the end Hunter got the victory in a hard fought battle. He may have won the match, but he was pushed to his limit by one of the best rookies that this storied business has ever seen.
Kiev pauses while Sakina whispers something in his ear and when she is finished, he continues.
