What is 'Pretty Battle Goddess: Magic Prismu!'?
Pretty Battle Goddess: Magic Prismu! (PBGMP) is the delightful story of young popstar Amori Aya (Aya Amori to western audiences). Aya discovers she is the reincarnation of the Greek Goddess Aphrodite, sent to Earth to fight evil and protect the innocent! A mysterious talking dog, Eros, guides Aya through her quest of self discovery and dangerous peril. He blesses her with the "Love-Love Henshin," a magical bracelet that allows her to transform into her Goddess counterpart. Once transformed, Aya is a threat to all the forces of evil! Eros sends her to ACW to hone her combat skills by competing in wrestling matches. However, she must find time to balance the four parts of her life: she's a Japanese popstar, a young woman, a full time wrestler, and the reincarnation of a Goddess, with enough power to save the world!
Why are you writing these crazy segments?
As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of Naoko Takeuchi's Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon. Also, I've always wanted to write my very own manga story. I just got this sudden inspiration of a Japanese popstar who wrestles and fights evil as a superheroine! Talk about a triple package! I feel ACW will be a fantastic testing ground for my manga idea, plus I'll develop storylines and such as I go. I consider my segments to be delightful parodies of the popular "Magical Girl" style of anime/manga. See how many similarities you can spot as more Volumes are revealed!
Magic Prismu!
Using the "Love-Love Henshin," Aya can transform into the Pretty Battle Goddess, Magic Prismu! Her henshin phrase is "Magic Prismu...Henshin![/i]" After swirling through the air gracefull, Aya lands, with new clothes and powers! Once transformed, Aya can summon the "Magic Heart Wand," a slender pink staff with a heart-shaped crown. The Magic Heart Wand allows her to cast her powerful "Lovely Prismu!" attack, which sends a cascade of dazzling pink energy at her foe. Look for more powers and abilities as the story develops!
Eros-chan!
Eros-chan is an astonishingly cute little puppy dog. Much of his past is shrouded in mystery. How did he find Aya? Where was he before he decided to awaken her powers? How did he manage to convince such a whimsical girl to leave her home and join a wrestling league? Look for the answers to these burning questions as the story develops. One thing is for sure: if Aya needs help, Eros will be there! An adorable photo of Eros can be found here.
Adonis!
Whoa! What a hunk! Adonis came to Aya's rescue in Volume 2 by distracting the evil Icey-Icey with a killer arrow. Why did he save Aya? How can he fly? Just who the heck is this handsome guy anyway, and does our heroine have a wee-bit of a crush?
Amphion!
Introduced in Volume 2, Amphion seems to be a mere underling of the enigmatic Master. Apparently, he plans on collecting human energy on earth in hopes of resurrecting some evil God. After Aya-chan defeated his evil henchman, Amphion swore vengeance! Be careful, Aya-chan!
Master?
Not much is known about Master. He gives Amphion orders, and Amphion carries them out dutifully enough. What exactly are his true intentions, and how did Amphion come to work for him in the first place?
