Its just a yes or no question, I personally vote yes. Having a belt should be cause for a rank up, not hold you back.

That wouldn't be very fair. Kind of a cheap way to rank up.
Like exploiting some oversight in an RPG to continually level up.

Actually as I reread that, nevermind. I read it like getting a title is an automatic rank up. Not that title holders should be eligable for rank ups.
...Dunno how I managed to read that wrong, unless it got edited since when I read it. Anyway, yeah, title holders should be able to be increased in rank.

You already can level up with a belt, you just have to lose it afterwards...

I was thinking of the "Buying back plot items that glitch and appear in the divining pool, and then getting the rewards for them again"

Vanish / Doom is your firend.
Although I liked the game better when i played through it without using Vanish / Doom... I felt more accomplished.
And Ginger... Thanks for confirming, but why do you HAVE to lose a belt after rank up? I mean, couldnt you have some system where a lower midcard can be as strong as an upper midcard when its a title shot?

Because other wise if its a very strong superstar, then he could go all the way up to Main Event with that belt. It helps the belt to change hands and the superstar to engage in feuds with people of the same ability.

Aside from the occasional Vanish/Doom in FF6, I do not exploit glitches. The only way to play...  Wrexsoul was way easier than the other way to kill him. Ahem...anyways, the rank should be influenced by holding a title, but it shouldn't catapult them any further than one rank. For instance, holding a minor title doesn't make you a upper mid-card. However something like the International/Entertainment title could reasonally push someone to the higher ranks. Don't people get titles for improving their status anyways? |

Final Fantasy 6 and Neverwinter Nights references I love it  Can't live without the occasional Vanish/Doom combo, except Kefka decided he wasn't no foo and it doesn't work on him. However I think the way Gingerdude has it figured out is perfect. That way the higher level superstars don't hoard all of the lower level belts. |
