THE HISTORY OF THE HAUS OF FAME ~1926~ It began with a whisper; just three simple words uttered through a rectangular lace-covered hole cut out of a dark cherry wood door. This would allow anyone lucky enough to venture into a secret world; a world that was so obscene-so taboo- that to this day not much information can be found regarding this group.
in the midst of the prohibition era of the United States of America, a man by the name of Charles F. Stinner claimed his fame as one of the most influential men in Hollywood. He had far more connections than any production company or brothel- a power that he later used to his advantage. In January of 1927, Charles sent little white cards to all of his contacts, with just a single address and the words "The Liquid Monster" printed lightly in black. This began the society we would all come to know as 'The Haus of Liquid'.
Everyone who was everyone in Hollywood, including the poor, would attend these bi-weekly events, uttering the password and gaining access to a glamorous underground. It is rumored that the parties would often turn into drunken orgies- a rumor that has only been confirmed by one anonymous insider source. The book "The Haus of Liquid: an elegant glass of corruption and alcohol in prohibition USA" claimed that there had been murders taken place within the walls, but the book had been panned by most contemporary critics at the time.
Business was booming for Charles, his career as an influential man in Hollywood had skyrocketed- gaining him more contacts than he could ever imagine. The Haus of Liquid even managed to survive the 1929 stock market crash, holding its place as a powerhouse in secret societies. In August of 1934, however, Charles was shot to death by his then-girlfriend's ex-lover, rumored to be a man in connection with the mob. ~1935~ With Charles' death and the end of prohibition, the Haus of Liquid declined in numbers, quickly falling to a dismal rate. The society was completely abandoned in May of 1936 as the expenses to run the society had become overwhelming to the money pool. It would take two decades for The Haus of Liquid to gain its infamy again within the ritch and famous of Hollywood- but this time it would be different. ~1954~ 'K. Tutchi', an heiress who had moved from New York to Hollywood and had heard from a great aunt about the infamous Haus of Liquid. Though she hated the name, she was intrigued by its glamour and sofistication and so began a planning process over the course of 3 years. In 1957, single white letters were sent to a variety of rich and famous local with a similar address and the words "The Glamourous Monster".
The Haus was back, only changed to reflect a more glamorous lifestyle that few could afford in those days. For the interest it remained secret even though prohibition had long passed. The Haus of Glamour had brought people in crowds to the colorful and laid-back weekly parties. It is suggested that these parties were secret only to reinforce the growing class system- only allowing those famous and those rich within their walls.
It's rumored that the parties continued until the death of K. Tutchi in the late 80's. The Haus of Glamour would be abandoned once again by those who loved it so much. ~2006~ this is the period that not much is known about the 'Haus' society. It is rumored that a woman who is only known by the initials 'C.H.' and her homosexual best friend put money into the most extravagant party of 2006. The secrecy of the party only led to the intrigue, and thus rumors began pouring in from the very first party. It has been dubbed 'The Haus of Fame' by newspapers and gossip website, and it is suggested that the Haus is still running.
