History
Clive was born in Swansea, South Wales, United Kingdom on March 23rd 1976 into a non-wrestling oriented family. He grew up with his Mother and older Sister who saw his interest in the art of wrestling as a mere adolescent fad. Unable to keep his mind on his schoolwork due to his passion for wrestling, he spent his break times demonstrating his high flying ability onto piles of school bags.
When Clive turned 18, he moved to Portsmouth on the South Coast of England in order to train at a reputable wrestling training camp. There, he met owner Dave Messo, who was a local entrepreneur and wrestling enthusiast. With no home-life to return to in a strange place, he devoted his time to the camp, working hard not only in training but also working for the campby moving ring equipment, processing new applicants and assisting Mr. Messo wherever needed.
It was this hard work that earned him a great testimony from the mouth of Messo to a top UKbooker, and he soon found himself regularly working on the undercard of a small independent promotion that operated in the South of England (SEWA). His first match was against a midcarder named the constructor. It was prior to this match that he decided on his wrestling name: D-Structa.
Clive moved to London in order to reside more centrally to SEWA's tour schedule, living in a flat paid for by Mr. Messo, as a gift for his hard work. It was while living in London that he met a pretty young barmaid named Traci Nelson. The two began a relationship and Nelson shortly quit her bar work in order to remain close to Clive, who sometimes worked five or six nights a week.
With her model-like appearance, it was soon suggested that she accompany Clive to the ring,if only to bolster a more masculine image for Clive. Clive was just happy to have his girlfriend close by.
In the following months, bookers from all around the country offered him the chance to work for them and he was reluctant to let anyone down, sometimes wrestling twice in one day with hour long journeys between matches to fulfill his commitments.
Whilst working on the road for WCC, Clive met a wrestler who went by the name of Jack Torak.
The two became good friends behind the scenes, even though they feuded in the ring which helped to build a great layer of mutual respect for each other.
His dedication and in-ring ability eventually lured the attention of the USCW, who offered him a spot on their impressive roster. He leapt at the chance to work for them, but still retained some loyal links to the promotions that treated him well.
Still a newcomer in the industry, he was taken under the wing of Christopher Love, who held a valuable number of years worth of experience which he could pass onto Clive. Learning from Chris, Clive adapted his wrestling style and adopted a higher in-ring psychology approach to his matches. He learnt the value of telling a story in the ring and telling it in a clear expression that made sense with every move.
After working in the USCW for a short while, Clive met Chris' sister, Cordelia. The two became great friends immediately, much to the displeasure of Traci.
When Chris suffered a serious injury and had to undergo rehabilitation, Clive took care of Cordelia in his absence, making sure she remained on good terms with the company by being present at all times, laying steady foundations for her new wrestling career.
Unfortunately, the promotion thought Chris' rehabilitation was taking too long and consequently released him. This provoked a raged response from Clive and Cordelia, who walked out on the promotion with Traci in tow.
They were all snapped up by USCW's rival, XCW where Clive was reunited with a familiar face in Jack Torak and his brother Jack Veracious, who were collectively known as Double Jack.
Clive introduced his two friends, Cordelia to Torak, to each other and watched as romance bloomed between them. This eased significant pressure on his relationship with Traci, who was becoming disillusioned with the wrestling life.
When the XCW collapsed, Clive had many offers to work for other promotions, but with Chris moving to the states to Wrestle, he felt it his duty to ensure Cordelia found work and stipulated to every independent promotion that they would have to take her on as well.
Out of the blue, Clive received a phone call from his old friend, Dave Messo, who was opening a new wrestling promotion called the Valley Wrestling Federation. Dave was happy to take Clive, Cordelia and Torak on board and even gave Clive the Heavyweight title as a "signing on fee". It was in the VWF that Clive played the role of a heel for the first time over a significant amount of time.
Clive, going by the name of D-Structa, became embroiled in a brutal feud with Rattlesnake, who had quickly become the VWF's top draw.
After D-S dropped his title to Rattlesnake, Traci left him and returned home. D-S drifted from the forefront of VWF and moved into helping Mr. Messo book the shows.
When the VWF closed it's doors in 2001, Clive considered retiring from the ring at an early age in order to move into promoting. Having helped Dave book the VWF shows, he had grown a thirst to control his own promotion and in August 2003, he got that wish. Going into business with Jason Zammit and a wrestler known as Hell Raiser Chris, they opened an independent promotion called the All-Star Championship Wrestling. However, when Clive, who had changed his ring name to Cyda D.S., found out that HRC and Zammit were using dodgy dealings to fund the promotion, D.S. gave up his share and walked away from wrestling. The ASCW collapsed almost immediately.
Following this incident and after his relationship also collapsed, D.S. quit wrestling to concentrate on running his own dojo. Nobody knows if or when Cyda will ever return to the squared circle.
