Segment: Repercussions (Credit: Freeman/AK)
One week has gone by since the contract signing between Jason Freeman and Atomic Kitsune. During that week, neither one of the two has been heard from at all. There is no update on the condition of AK after taking that sick chairshot to the side of the head, and there is no update on what is going through her mind right now. Her hair was cut by Freeman, after his devious plan was succesful. He managed to take her by surprise, and perhaps these are the consequences for not being on her guard enough. It will NEVER happen again.
As for Jason Freeman, he has not been seen or heard from. After he retreated back into the crowd protected by what he referred to as "his" security force, there has been no report of where he's been. Now, however. Things are different.
After seeing Freeman no-show Meltdown, Ginger had made himself clear to Freeman. He shows up tonight and meets Ginger in his office, or his contract is terminated.
As Ginger sits, the door opens, and in walks the man himself. The fans boo Freeman with as much ferocity as they can manage, but he seems to be walking with more confidence than ever before. After all, his plan worked, and he did what he wanted to. In his mind, he has struck a HUGE blow on AK, and was able to render an ACW legend almost defenseless in a matter of seconds. He doesn't think about the means of which he did so...he only thinks about the fact. He did it. He casually takes a seat, and looks across the desk at the glare of Ginger.
Freeman: Hello, Ginger. How are you today?
Ginger could not glare any more fiercely at the man sitting before him.
Ginger: Freeman, what you did on Monday was one of the most despicable things I had ever witnessed in this company. I gave you that contract signing on the belief that I could ensure that nothing went wrong. I was going to surround the ring with security. Make sure you did nothing. You got around that. And all I learned was that no matter what, you can never be trusted. It seems whatever I do you will find some way to get around it. Some plan...some method.
Freeman: Please, now, Ginger...let's not inflate my ego too much.
Despite the obvious anger on Ginger's face, thus far, he has managed to stay calm in his words. He does not want to lose control. Freeman however is testing his ability to maintain it. It seems that the success of Monday has left Freeman feeling so compeltely in control of everything, so confident, that he is not concerned with anything. The conversation seems to be a game. Freeman seeming to WANT to provoke a response from Ginger, seeming to be testing how far his limit is. The self-righteousness that Freeman has had since his return is amplified tenfold.
Ginger: I once again suggest you watch yourself when you talk to me. I after all, have heavily considered releasing you from your contract. You are very close to being fired, Freeman, and if you continue to act like this, you WILL be.
Freeman: I doubt that. You said that you were planning to terminate my contract if I didn't show up here tonight. Here I am. I've showed up here tonight. It seems rather pointless to have me come just to tell me I'm fired. What's the point then? So I think you've already decided you aren't going to fire me, and I doubt anything I say to that will change your mind. No, I think I'm rather safe right now.
Ginger opens his mouth to retort to this, and Freeman just leans back in the chair casually cutting him off.
Freeman: You want to know how I did it?
Ginger: I don't care how---
Freeman: Becuase it was really very easy. I expected you to do a better job than THAT Ginger. Of course I figured Latino wouldn't trust me, under ANY circumstances. Luckily it was easy to ensure that no babysitter would come to his house that night. After all, as a pro wrestler I do not have too much of a shortage of money. There was always the chance Latino would come with the kids anyways, but I correctly assumed AK would never allow that. Of course as for you, I knew you would never trust me either. Latino would come to fight me himself, but you? You would ensure security was at ringside. I quickly saw how this could go to my advantage, of course - and---
Ginger has heard quite enough of this. He feels like Freeman has made a fool of him...the way he was able to pull this off the way he did. He knows Freeman is once again intentionally trying to make him angry. He knows that Freeman just wants to rub it in. Let me Freeman talk, however. He can say whatever he wants but as much as Freemant thinks he has the power he is wrong. As the chairman, GINGER has the power, and he is going to make sure Freeman knows it.
Ginger: Enough of that, I don't care how you did it, I---
Freeman: ---And so I just paid a couple of people that I thought could be useful. Getting my hands on some security equipment was easy. All I had to do then was wait for the order to come from your office. I ensured one of MY guards was there to receive the message that mass security was going to be needed to make it to the ring, and from that point it was easy. I thought maybe you would realize something was up, but I doubted a chairman such as you has time to care about security guards despite how much they cost, and how many potential lawsuits they can prevent.
Ginger: I said enough! I don't care how you did it. Yes, you're right. I'm not going to terminate your contract Freeman - not yet at least. I suppose you've got me there. I nearly did call off that match, but realized that that would be solving nothing, wouldn't it? From a business standpoint at least, this match will be good for me. It is beginning to gain significant interest.
Freeman: Well, as it should. These people are realizing that I am going to give AK a run for her money. I am going to defeat her in the ring. It's an intriguing match, I'm sure. They want to see that torch be passed. Though there are still those people who just want to see the match because they want to see their hero teach me a lesson. They want AK to get revenge for what I did to her. But what they don't realize is that this is not a fairy tale. The good guys don't always win. AK will not be getting her poetic revenge, she will not be getting some sense of glory back, and she will not vanquish her foe. Unfortunately, sometimes heroes lose. Sometimes they are crushed. That is what they will see. It is only natural though, that---
Ginger: Enough. I don't want to hear another word of this. Just because your match is still on does NOT mean you have gotten away with this. It does NOT mean some changes aren't going to be made.
Freeman: Changes? What ever do you mean?
Freeman remains confident, but Ginger thinks that he can't be as at ease as he seems to be. After all, Freeman has no way of knowing what could be going through Ginger's head right now. Freeman brilliantly planned out his moves last week, to be sure, and Ginger would have to admit that. Right now, though, he isn't in control. He knows that Freeman's mind is working fast, already ready to react to whatever Ginger is going to say. He feels, however, that some of this ocnfidence might be show. Some of this casual sarcasm might be to mask the fact that inside, Freeman may be wondering what consequences Ginger is planning to evoke. Freeman has a way of making everybody feel like he's in control, even when he may not be. As the chairman, Ginger is very happy to know that right now the control is in his hands where it SHOULD be.
Ginger: At the moment, your match remains a singles match, but there have been several alterations. You want to PROVE yourself? Right? You want to take down a legend? Well if you try any tricks at Omega Effect, whether it be interference, or any kind of cheating, you will instantly lose the match. And I dont care if the ref has seen it or not. You obviously cannot be trusted, and so there is no way you are going to bend around the rules on this one.
Freeman: I have never had any intention of---
Ginger: Yeah, I'm sure you haven't. But in any case. Even though that should stop you from trying anything, I've decided that it just wasn't enough. I've decided that somebody in the ring needed to be able to enforce things, and keep you in line. So you're match will now have a special referee. One that you will not be able to get around.
Freeman: Oh, save me the intimidating suspense.
Ginger: You can try to play it cool all you want, Freeman. But you'll have to find this one out the same time everybody else does. I am not going to tell you who it is, but I'll tell you that it isn't somebody you're going to be able to push around. It isnt going to be somebody that you can put one over on, and so this time don't even try it. You can trust me as I say, Freeman, that this is somebody whose face I WILL know. So don't think you're replacing him. I've seen you pull tricks once, Freeman, you are NOT doing it again.
Freeman considers what has just been said to him. He doesn't seem very bothered. Sure, this could work against him somehow, but he doesn't find himself very worried. So, there's a special referee. It doesn't matter whether he can try anything or not, because in his mind he knows that he doesn't need to. He's going to defeat AK.
Freeman: Okay then, Ginger. You want a special referee match, then I can't do anything to stop you. I wonder whether AK will even show up at Omega Effect however. I don't believe anybody's heard anything from her after Monday, have they? I assume she's at home ashamed of the fact that all her beautiful long hair...is gone! And Im sure she's realized that maybe I am somebody she doesn't want to deal with.
Ginger: I don't know where AK is, but I'm going to tell you right now, that I know for a fact that she is not going to back down. One of the other reasons I didn't stop this match, Freeman, is because I know whatever she does to you is going to be worse than---
Freeman: I believe I've heard this one before, Ginger. Not just from you, but frmo everybody. In fact, however, I did hear this right before Spring into Hell. It doesn't matter, Latino will get revenge. Well how did that work out? So you tell me whatever you want, about how AK is going to get revenge...but I'll believe it when I see it. As for now, I have no match tonight. I had no real reason to be here, except that you forced me to. So now, I am on my way out of here. And when you hear some word from AK, I'd like to hear about it.
And he gives one of the most infuriating smirks Ginger has ever witnessed. As Ginger clenches his fists under the desk, Freeman casually gets out of the chair, and makes his way to the door. He doesn't look back, as he opens it, and exits the office. Ginger watches him go. He HAS wondered where AK is, and why there has been no word from her, but he knows that Freeman's interpretation of the situation is wrong. The fact that AK has done nothing since last Monday is not a sign that she's given up. In fact, he would say that this is an extremely bad sign for one Jason Freeman...
Freeman continues his trek down the hallway, having just exited the office. He has listened to Ginger run his mouth, but in the end it all comes down to one thing. Ginger doesn’t trust him, and Ginger is going to try to prevent him from getting away with anything at Omega Effect. Nothing important. After all, if it became necessary he'd work around it, and he knew he'd be able to do so-
??: Jason Freeman?
He doesn’t recognise the voice. He glances up, and sees someone standing in the shadows. His instincts tell him to keep walking, and he does not respond.
His determination not to stop leads him directly past the place where a second man is waiting. He seems to seep out of the very shadow itself, so much so that Freeman doesn’t pick up on the movement until it’s too late. A damp piece of cloth is clamped over his nose and mouth, while a thick arm restrains him. He can hear footsteps behind him, at first they get louder, then softer. Freeman realises that his senses are failing, and his knees give way.
??: You’re overdue for a private appointment, fella me lad, and I don’t mean the one you just waltzed out of. ‘Ere, let’s get him out of sight... we don’t want any company.
Freeman can do nothing to combat the effects of the knock-out formula, and he rapidly sinks into unconsciousness.
The two men hastily carry their catch away, back into the shadows from whence they came...
Fade.
