The Untouchables was a stable that will live long in the history of ACW. This chapter goes through a period right up to Spring 2006, but as the stable was never really on the first front, this chapter isn't in chronology to the rest of the autobiography.
Summer 2005, and ACW was in a transition period with a lot of people leaving and a lot of people coming back into the fed, and it was around this time that WCW 98 proposed that we formed a stable. Now back in GFWWE, he was in a stable with Jonny Spade, Gooey Garth, and two others, who I don't recall. Anyways the stable was called the Dream Stealers, and we proposed the idea to Jonny and Gooey. Thing is, those two didn't want that name brought back into ACW, plus Jonny had been approached by someone else for a tag team (as well as Gooey going on a hiatus after losing a Pink Slip match at Omega Effect).
Turns out that Jake Cheng had approached Jonny, with a view to form a stable with the two of them, plus TNT and Davey Marvel. Jake then decided to approach me, and WCW 98 and I agreed to join up and make a stable of massive proportions. The name of the stable would be “The Untouchables”, a stable whose legacy has run on to this day as one of the greatest stables ever. Okay that's a bit biased. The cold dark truth is that in truth, whilst we were an awesome stable, we hardly did much in terms of stable segments or anything. I think we did maybe four or five in the time the stable was active. I mean granted, the stable had a lot of success, but we just never really wrote together.
It didn't help that TNT decided to leave ACW in August 2005, but his reasons were completely understandable. Davey Marvel soon followed suit after winning EOTR 2005. He pretty much descended into nothing, and even though he would try to return during the summers of 2006 and 2007, he never made the impact he did have. So it was back to just me, Jonny and Jake for a while, although we managed to recruit Mr. Red and Tornado (aka Rob/Jack Jefferson) towards the end of the year. As a team, I felt those two had a lot of potential, and I'll get to the tale of Tornado in a couple of chapters.
As it were though, The Untouchables slowly began to become more of a burden for a couple of us. With the exception of winning a couple of tag team titles, we never really had any stable success, which was mounted by the fact that we were unable to even get a 5-man tag team going for Ragnarok. It became clear that The Untouchables and the Senatorial Stable were just competing for numbers, basically the stable with the more amount of members would be leading, and it was becoming a bit extreme. Both teams seemed to be more concerned with the amount of members we were getting than actually generating some form of feud.
The stable eventually ended at Fallen Heroes 2006, when Jonny Spade eliminated me from the rumble. It was the basis for the disbanding of the stable, and whilst it was a necessary break, it was also a bit tough, because in hindsight we really were just an awesome stable. Our “Best Stable of the Year 2005” shows that. And that has nothing to do with the fact that we had 6 members of the roster at that time who happened to help us outvote the Senatorial Stable. At all.
Anyways with that little story arch finished, we move on to September 2005, the month where I finally became a Main Eventer. And what better to start it off with than a World Title shot on PPV?
