Dan (and anyone else who wishes to jump in), Thought I’d start a new thread over here to reply so I don’t hijack the drop in thread.
Anyway, currently this product is fantastic but I’d be hesitant to say it’s the greatest ever. It still needs many years to go for that distinction. Like I said, 80-00 was legendary with hardly any breaks on that train. If the current group of stars can go that long, then we can talk.
Gunther is amazing, but a part of me hopes he doesn’t break the Honkey Tonk Man’s record. I was there for HTM and I always hate when one of my guys gets surpassed. But what I really like about Gunther is Imperium. In fact, that’s what is going so right, right now. Stables are back and man, they are all using them right. And they are all so good.
Another thing I love is that finally, EVERY belt matters! There’s a story for every title, and you care about those titles. Growing up I can attest we cared just as much about the IC champ as we did the Worlds. I would say though they need more emphasis on tag teams, though. They have a good roster of them and most likely need to split those belts up again.
We are going to have to agree to disagree with woman’s wrestling. I feel it takes up too much of the product and if I could make a GLOW and shove them all there I’d gladly would. I’m sorry but it’s just not my thing.
Anyway, I hope it stays like this. I know I’ll get people mad, but 00-20 was so awful and I mainly blame the OVW 4 (Cena, Batista, Orton, Lesnar). I’m heading into my 50s now; and let me tell you, legit that was the worst generation of stars I’ve ever seen. Poor, just poor.
