The lights dim as the synth pad kicks in, plunging the arena into darkness. Green laser lights circle the audience slowly in time with the noise of the synth, slowly picking up speed as the instrumental builds. Then as the guitar kicks in the lights flash in time, then flash red and green simultaneously as the clapping occurs. Immediately after, as the lead singer screams the opening words, the arena light come back on to reveal Andrew Williams, complete with Phoenix mask, with his arms spread.
As Williams makes his way to the ring he slaps hands with nearby fans as Kaito gives him a motivational speech. He sprints quickly up the steps and vaults over the top rope, landing on the middle ropes in the corner. Williams raises his arms above his head before slowly removing his mask and handing it to a runner. He then steps down from the corner, before repeatedly running the ropes and rolling his shoulders in preparation of the start of the match.

Printed on the rear of the trunks is his Phoenix logo in gold for the white and black trunks and black for the gold trunks. Williams wears simple black kneepads and kickpads over a pair of boots. CHARACTER HISTORY
Pre-ACW
Son of multi-millionaire businessman, Francis Williams, Andrew was always a perennial under-achiever. Preferring to party using his father’s money rather than studying he dropped out of college during the first year and was given a position in his father’s firm.
His laziness prevailing, Andrew persisted with doing as little as humanly possible and became a constant source of disappointment for his father, who had extremely high hopes for him. Andrew, however, seemed more content to continue throwing parties than actually trying to earn his father’s respect.
Deciding his son needed a pet project to get him motivated, Francis, being a lifelong wrestling fan himself, instructed Andrew to expand his empire into the wrestling business. To do this Andrew was presented with a single lump-sum and then had the rest of his finances cut off.
The next step for Williams was to embark on training to become a wrestler. This undertaking took him to Japan and to the Kaientai Dojo where, under the tutelage of Japanese legend Kuroda Kaito, he underwent a massive transformation. When his training was complete Williams was a changed man, extremely focused and motivated as well as highly talented in the ring.
Williams wrestled all around Japan’s smaller promotions as Golden Tiger, wearing a gold Tiger Mask mask, with Kaito as his manager. Williams went on to win the BattlARTS Young Generation Battle League and the Strongest-K Championship in his rookie year. Williams spent a short spell in ACW during 2007 but later returned to Japan feeling he wasn’t ready to compete in ACW. He continued to ply his trade in the Japanese indies working under the Golden Tiger mantle for several years as he honed his craft.
Rebirth
However tragedy struck Williams when his mentor and idol sadly passed away due to an un-noticed brain tumour. This lead to Williams taking a temporary hiatus from wrestling as he struggled to deal with the passing of his mentor. After a year away from the sport Williams returned under a new guise, The Golden Tiger is no more and The Phoenix was born and has set flight for ACW.
WRITING INSTRUCTIONS
During Match
- Unless he is facing off against someone he particularly dislikes Williams will always offer his opponent his hand.
- Williams will very rarely give anything other than a clean break as soon as the ropes are reached; however, if his opponent then gets in a cheap shot he will ensure he hits a strike before giving a break for the rest of the match.
- Williams relies a great deal on his explosive strikes and his offensive pattern should emulate this. Any non-striking manoeuvres will be often snapped off with great speed.
- As a general rule Williams will look to attack the vertical base of his opponent, with repeated kicks to their left knee, to enable him to get a significant enough advantage to go to work on the rest of his opponent’s body.
Post-Match
- Post Victory, before celebrating Williams will always offer his opponent his hand.
- Post Loss, Williams will, more often than not, raise his opponent’s hand before shaking hands with them. He will then exit quickly to allow the victor to celebrate.
