...you know, even though I knew, I would have still preferred for it to have been revealed in a cooler manner.

...you know, even though I knew, I would have still preferred for it to have been revealed in a cooler manner. Better than dying and coming back from the grave 50 million times

Disclaimer: These picks are of course my opinion. My opinion is neither right or wrong its just what I think. So if you don’t make the list, please do not feel that I don’t like you, what you wrote or that your promos were not as good as the one’s I have listed. I really don’t want people to get discouraged over things like these. Please, please realize that with the amount of talented writers that we have it’s a super tough job picking out just five promos. Another ACW week is in the books, but it sure was anything but ordinary. We almost went Sexless, showed our art, survived a fake birthday incident, had more Chazerific drama and some of us experienced IRL issues that would not be suitable to mention here. Pushing that all aside, lets focus on the real reason why we are here to begin with and that’s the love for the game ... AJ'S PICKS! - “Not Surprising” by Anonymous, a.k.a. the Revolutionary. Very short, but oh so effective. Remember those old “hype” promos of yesteryear when a new wrestler was doing to debut and they would play a brief video with him doing or saying something mysterious? This reminded me so much of that. As I read, I could like see this guy surrounded in the shadows, talking in a mysterious voice that makes you feel totally uncomfortable listening to. Plus, the last line, OH the last line. It was like a punch in the face reading it. I loved it.
- “Black and White? Time to get with the Black and Blue!” by Jay Zero. I’ve known a few people over my life time who could do amazing things with only two fingers, but Zero has sure leapt past them in terms of greatness with this promo. Ben bestowed some of that old Jay Zero attitude back into his character and it was great seeing this again. Very short tempered and very sarcastic, Jay Zero is truly unique. Also, major props to Ben for incorporating the NPC’s into his promo. This seems to be the “hot” thing right now and I do approve because it keeps the ACW “universe”relevant.
- “Retribution” by Alex Richmond. Rob, you really delivered on this one. You have an interesting story going and I invite everyone to read it. A deep dark family secret, an inconsiderate son and a scornful lawyer - this story has all the makings of a high society tale full of sin and decadence. We must find out what was in that briefcase, and somehow, someway, I’m sure we will in time. Finally, I strongly believe you do an excellent Gingerdude, so take another bow for that.
- “To Fallen Heroes” by Danny Mainer. Its been awhile since we’ve seen the King of Vegas on the top five, and I welcome him back with open arms after this effort. Sometimes, pre-match promos can be such a bore, but Danny did an excellent job to keep it concise and entertaining. Mainer finding out he couldn’t join the rumble was hilarious, and do you know what I’d love to see? Mainer trying to buy a spot or screw somebody out of theirs. Do it Danny!
- “Don’t Stop ...Believing!” by FSX. X, whatever you do, don’t break the fourth wall. It’s kind of like dividing by zero, we all will die. I know you were just joking, but that was seriously too close for comfort. *Wipes forehead* Whef! Anyway, what was good about this promo? Well, everything! Witty dialogue, terrific description and an inclusion of a NPC (remember folks, NPC’s are hot, hot, hot!). When writing a Fallen Heroes training promo, one could well, write about actually training, or go on a big adventure like FSX. I prefer the later.
Honorable Mentions: Flamingo’s promo was strong as usual, as well as Showtime’s show review. Oh, I also enjoyed the 2nd Coming’s introduction of Iron Jaw & Taylor’s/Senator’s joint so don’t be a douche and skip those, okay? Moment of the Show: From “Peccant Past” by Dan and myself. AJ turns around, and sees what he assumes to be the real Black and White staring in his face. Black and White grabs the mask, ripping it off his face, and the pop around the arena is electric.Dan White: ...Boo. I so lol’d when I saw Dan’s Hunter spoof. It was so great and fit perfectly. Anyway, having Lord Dan back ( well, I guess he’s been back >.>.) is cause for a celebration! *Singing in Freddie Mercury voice*: We’re having a good time!
