BK continues with his plan and taunts the Senator, drawing him close to the ropes. He lets him get in one or two punches, but when the Senator goes for a third, BK sidesteps and then dropkicks him over the top, sending him to the outside. The Senator gets up quickly and re – engages with BK, just about moving clear as his opponent tries to do further damage with a baseball slide out of the ring. Throwing out powerful punches at one another the pair range around the ring, giving the people in the front the sort of close – up view that they paid top dollar for; they are closely matched in terms of power, and the situation remains finely balanced until BK tires of the back and forth exchange, and coolly whips the Senator toward the steel steps. The Senator runs up them and jumps off to the other side; BK dashes after him, but as he reaches the stairs Senator jumps back on to the top and meets BK with a huge kick to the chest. BK’s motion is stopped almost immediately and he falls backward; the Senator lays down a few kicks and then retreats into the ring, leaving BK on the outside. The referee’s count is at 7, and BK picks himself up and rolls back into the ring at the 8 count. At once the Senator is on to him again, and as BK gets to his feet the Senator grabs him for a simple Suplex which nevertheless shakes the ring as both men hit the canvas. The Senator tries to pin, holding BK down with all his strength, but BK refuses to capitulate and gets a shoulder up at 2.5. BK’s fans cheer, while others shout for the Senator to finish things off; in response the Senator gets up, and lines BK up for a Partisan Kick as he is recovering to his feet. The sound of the crowd warns BK that something’s up, however, and instead of standing he rolls forward, thus narrowly avoiding being struck. The Senator looks very annoyed, and BK smiles and taunts him, challenging him to finish him off, if he can…..
With the crowd on the edge of their seats, BK and the Senator crash together and tie up, each trying to use brute strength to push the other back. The Senator seems to get better traction and BK is pushed back, but then BK locks his legs and shifts his grip quickly, converting the hold into his “Vintage London” (Sky High). He slams the Senator down and covers, getting just past the 2; the Senator rolls swiftly to his feet and scoops London up for a nasty – looking Backbreaker against his knee. London rolls off, holding his back, and the Senator keeps on the pressure with a couple of hard stomps before pinning again. This also gets a 2 count, and though BK is in discomfort his head is still clear, enabling him to override the pain and concentrate on the match. He locks up quickly with the Senator again, this time delivering a Snap Suplex; he attempts to do some damage with kicks, but the Senator gets up and slips behind BK, putting him into a Bear Hug. It’s nowhere near enough to make BK surrender or pass out, but even so BK finds himself short of breath with his chest constricted. The hold serves a double purpose, allowing the Senator to recover, and almost as soon as he releases BK he lifts him on to his shoulders, preparing for a Death Valley Driver. His supporters roar, but BK struggles and instead of completing the move the Senator unbalances and the pair of them fall to the mat. The ref starts a double 10 count, and now with both men fatigued it takes until the 7 for them both to answer it. The match is about ready to be called, and it could go either way; the Senator moves first and dizzies BK with a right hand blow before retreating the minimum distance possible, and going for a very fast Partisan Kick. BK has only a second to react, and he pulls his head back so that the Senator misses by millimeters…..and brings himself into line perfectly for the Revolver. BK nails the move and pins, and the Senator just doesn’t quite have enough in the tank to respond before the 1,2,3.
Philip: Here is your winner……..BK London!
BK gets to his feet and raises his arms, clearly very pleased with his win; He climbs the turnbuckles and plays to the crowd. The Senator stands back up, looking angry both at the outcome and himself; he leaves with a cross expression covering deep thought, as Warfare comes to a conclusion.
Will we ever find out who Hunter’s stalker is?
What will happen between McCarty and Daredevil?
And has the irrepressible Angelo bitten off a little too much with his scheming this time?
Some of these answers, at least, may be found on Meltdown.
Fade to Black.
End of Show.
