Match 8: V-3 v Kain - International Title Match
Philip has just stepped into the ring when “Slow Chemical” hits, and the familiar orange glow lights the arena for Kain’s entrance. Kain is not slow to come forward, and he clearly means business with the international champion.
Philip: The final match tonight will be for the ACW international title……..introducing first, the challenger………….Kain!
Kain is already in the ring as Philip finishes speaking; Kain paces around, looking collected and ready to put all his acquired knowledge of his opponent to good use.
“Git Up” hits, and V3 is equally keen to get to the ring; he may not have wished to defend his title again so soon after winning it, but he is thoroughly tired of Kain’s constant sniping at him, and he intends to put his opponent down once and for all.
Philip: And his opponent, he is the reigning ACW International Champion………from Las Vegas, Nevada, V3!
V3 slides into the ring and climbs the turnbuckles; he makes Kain wait for him, and in so doing asserts his authority as champion. Kain glares at V3, and the pair stare at one another as the ref takes the belt; the crowd builds up to fever pitch, and the ref waves to the ringside staff to confirm that all is in order.
Bell Rings.
Kain makes a quick start, trying to knock V3 down with a stiff clothesline; V3 though is expecting this, and he ducks under Kain’s arm before swinging a kick at Kain as he turns around. Kain counters, grabbing V3’s leg mid – swing before falling sideways, twisting on the leg as he does so. V3 stifles a cry of pain, and Kain smiles darkly as he stands back up and continues to work on V3, stamping down hard on his knee and ankle joints. V3 rolls away at the earliest opportunity, but he has a slight limp when he stands back up and he noticeably grimaces as he pushes back the pain to re – engage Kain once more. Kain is not about to let V3 take it easy; he whips him to the ropes first in one direction, then another to force V3 to further pressure his leg muscles. On the third whip however V3 takes a stand and reverses; Kain runs back and charges V3, but V3 turns sideways on to Kain and drops to one knee so that Kain trips. As he falls forward V3 grabs him, stands back up so that Kane is across his shoulders and then falls backward to slam Kain into the mat. V3 flips over and pins, and the surprise nature of the move means that Kain only breaks free at the 2 count. V3 smiles at Kain and beckons him forward, but Kain cools his temper and approaches V3 at his own pace. V3 tries to back away but his leg is still giving him some problems, and Kain puts on a burst of speed to catch up and grab V3 in a chokehold; Kane lifts V3 high before delivering the chokeslam, and the impact shakes the ring. Kain kicks V3 in the head a couple of times before falling forward to crush the air from V3’s lungs as well as covering him; Kain is heavy and the ref has passed 2 before V3 manages to shift his bulk.
V3 breathes hard as he tries to re – oxygenate his bloodstream, but he have very little time to do so as Kain goes straight back on the offensive. Kain is not interested in giving the crowds a thrilling match, and his only thought is rendering V3 incapable of breaking his pin; he smashes 2 huge punches into the side of V3’s head before picking him up for a sitout powerbomb. V3 gets back up but he is starting to look fragile, and Kain decides that some more decisive action is required; he lifts V3 once more, this time for a military press, and throws his opponent right out of the ring on to the crash matting outside. Kane steps over the top rope and drops down to collect V3 once more; he lays V3 over the steel steps and then wrenches his injured leg against the steel, picking it up at the ankle before throwing it back forcefully against the step to injure the joints and muscles. V3 audibly cries out, but he gathers his wits, waits for Kain to come close and then sits bolt upright to grab Kain by the head and ram him against the edge of the steps. The blow is very powerful and Kain roars in pain; a small wound opens on his head as V3 rolls off of the steps and then proceeds to whip Kain against one of the steel ring posts. Kain clutches his shoulder as V3 retreats into the ring; Kain follows and the ref’s count is stopped at seven. V3’s limp is worse now, but he has successfully pissed off Kain so that his earlier strategy goes out the window; Kain hurtles toward V3, who whips him with his own momentum into a corner before half running, half hopping forward to lay down some shots to Kain’s lower body. Kain breaks back out of the corner and grasps V3 for a brain buster suplex, but his own injury sends a wave of pain up his arm and makes him just a little too slow to make the cover; V3 throws an arm up just before 3.
V3 rises back up, and the agony in his leg warns him that he has to make his move immediately if he is to retain his title. V3 sees Kain’s shoulder is now a weak point, and he moves in close, dodging Kain’s hammer – blow punches to grab his injured arm and bend it back into a chickenwing. Kain screws up his face and tries to twist free, but it takes him several moments to break away and when he finally does so it feels like his arm is on fire. V3 has chosen his target well, picking the arm which Kain favours to execute his chokeslams and other similar moves; Kain now tries to end the match with the Rain of Pain, but as he extends his arm to lift V3 the pain instead comes to him and he delivers the finisher with far less than its usual force, thus helping V3 to once again just beat the count by milliseconds. Kain’s frustration boils over, and he pulls V3 to his feet before whipping him to the ropes; in doing this he aims V3 at the referee, who is knocked down. Kain smirks and leaves the ring, returning with a chair; he advances on V3 and the crowd is furious, but Kain has made a critical error; the referee, having learnt something at last from watching what has happened to his colleagues in previous matches that evening, is not in fact unconscious and he stands back up and confronts Kain, grabbing the chair and trying to take it from him. Kain is obviously far too strong and he pulls the chair back, but the ref has seen enough; he runs to the ropes and yells to the timekeeper for the bell. Kain meanwhile swings the chair at V3, but V3 counters and dropkicks the chair right back into Kain’s face; both men fall to the ground as the bell sounds for the end of the match.
Philip: Here is your winner, as a result of a disqualification………and still ACW International Champion……V3!
V3 is exhausted, and he raises his arms weakly as he gets back up, but his face is a picture of happiness; Kain lies still on the mat, out cold from the chair blow. As V3 steps out of the ring he smiles at the crowd’s cheers, and holds his belt up to them in celebration as he walks back up the ramp. From the back, Blade watches and is pleased, but his face is etched with concern both for his missing fiancée, and for the way the tension is making him behave; As the show ends Blade sighs and turns to leave, hoping against hope that the next show will give him some chance to weaken the twisted PDogg’s hold on him……………<br>
