Match 6: Skurai vs PDogg
The ring is swiftly checked by the event staff, and New Noise by Refused screams through the arena, bringing the crowd to their feet.
Philip: The next match is a singles match, set for one fall. Entering the arena, from Sacramento California, Skurai!
Skurai steps out into the lights of the arena to a massive ovation; he still bears numerous scars from the Industrial Revolution match at Uncensored, but his eyes burn with a fierce determination to overcome the loss and arise stronger than ever from it. He climbs the turnbuckle and raises his arms to the crowd, then takes up position in the ring to await his opponent.
Wait and Bleed by Slipknot hits, and the crowd remains standing, craning to get a good look at the entrance as PDogg appears.
Philip: And his opponent, from Cameron North Carolina……..The US Champion, PDogg!
PDogg strides to the ring, displaying his title to the fans. He climbs into the ring and circles a couple of times before handing the belt over; the competitors discard their extra clothing and get ready to begin. With everything in order the referee gestures to the staff on the outside and the match begins.
Bell Rings.
Skurai wastes no time in taking the fight to his opponent; if he is still feeling the effects of his last match he does not let it affect his performance, and PDogg retreats to a corner under persistent pressure from Skurai. Skurai continues to rain down blows on PDogg’s head and upper body, but PDogg responds by grasping the ropes to either side and using a double – footed kick to send Skurai flying to land on his back. Quickly PDogg capitalizes, climbing up the post and launching into a top rope elbow drop. PDogg pins, and Skurai waits until 2 before powering out. Both men rise to their feet, and this time PDogg is the first to go on the attack – he moves in and wrenches on Skurai’s arms, looking for any remaining weakness from his previous intense battle. Skurai winces but there is no obvious underlying injury, so PDogg switches tactics and breaks into a series of suplexes. He manages to successfully land 2 before Skurai breaks the sequence; PDogg assumes that Skurai will be less able to defend himself as he reels from the impacts, but Skurai is tougher that PDogg thinks and he catches him unawares with a swift RKO, throwing himself high into the air for maximum force. PDogg comes down very hard, and Skurai pins; the referee makes it to 2 and a half before PDogg gets his shoulder up.
Skurai is eager to build on his success, and he drags PDogg over to a corner with the intention of superplexing him from the top rope. PDogg though is recovering somewhat; he allows Skurai to bring him up to the top of the post, then when both men are up he starts to fight back and succeeds in throwing Skurai down from the post to the outside of the ring. Skurai lands hard against the safety barrier; PDogg considers splashing down on top of him but decides that there is too much risk of Skurai dodging aside. Instead he drops down to the apron, and leaps from there; he uses his clasped hands to drive into Skurai as he gets back up. Both men roll on the floor; PDogg gets up first and he tries to whip Skurai into the steel steps, but Skurai reverses just in time and Pdogg is sent toward them instead. Showing great agility, PDogg leaps over the stairs, skids to a halt, turns around and runs back, springing from the stairs into the air at his opponent. Skurai though thinks fast, and he catches PDogg in mid air, turning his momentum into a powerful slam. The referee’s count is at eight, and Skurai wisely hops back into the ring; PDogg just manages to roll back under the ropes before he is counted out.
The crowd is obviously deeply into the action as the two men circle once more. They lock up and try to find a gap in the opposition’s armour; PDogg finds one first and hits his PDG (doublearm DDT). PDogg pins and gets 2; without pausing he lifts Skurai and prepares for his new variation Bad Blood finisher (Canadian Backbreaker into DDT). Skurai is not ready to give up, and he thrashes until PDogg abandons the attempt. PDogg has a further trick up his sleeve; grabbing Skurai by the hair he runs along the side of the ring and drives Skurai’s head against the top of the post before pushing him into the corner for a counted 10 punch. Skurai is dazed, and PDogg pulls him up the post for his “In the Doghouse” finisher; he takes just a little too long to do this however and Skurai suddenly finds a second burst of energy. The two struggle on the post a second time, but this time Skurai overcomes his opponent and with a salute to the crowd he gives PDogg a taste of the 500 Channels. PDogg has been drained by his previous efforts to subdue Skurai, and he just cannot summon enough strength to break the pin before the referee counts 3.
Philip: Here is your winner…………Skurai!
Skurai seems pleased with his victory, but he has no wish to do further harm to PDogg and he releases the pin immediately. PDogg is very quiet as Skurai celebrates; he waits for Skurai to turn back toward him, and then without warning he floors him with a closed – fist punch. The crowd is taken totally by surprise, and their reaction is immediate and angry. PDogg snatches back his title belt and pushes it into Skurai’s face before continuing the assault; eventually the referee is successful in ordering him away, but he continues to taunt both Skurai and the crowd as he returns to the locker rooms.
