ok, so I went to SMACKDOWN on Tuesday and man was it a great show! I'll go through the whole show.
*Ok, I arrived at the Arena and got a hotdog and soda. I made my way down to my seat, 5 minutes before the show.
*They had an announcement come over the loudspeakers about the rules, but I couldn't hear because the Arena was too loud with everyone excited for the show. Before I go any further, I should say the arena was about 3/4 full. Anyway, I knew all about the no throwing and all that crap I wouldn't do anyway.
*They played the Wrestlemania music video, and ONLY four guys got pops. These men were Austin, Hogan, Cena , and Batista. I'd say the pops got louder as the video went on which is the order I had already posted, though Cena's pop may have eclipsed Batista's. Only Hunter got Heel Heat (oh yeah, he's really hurting business)
*Ok, It was time for the show.
Dark Match:
The Highlanders vs. Matt Capotelli (FROM ROCHESTER, WORD!) and Mike The Miz
This was a great way to get the fans pumped up for the show. It was a good match with Miz playing the face in peril for obvious reasons. They finished with a suplex/ cross body block double Team move, which was sweet.
Velocity:
*"The Future" Frankie Kazarian vs. Funaki:
-There were some smark fans, but Funaki got a decent pop. 'Bout halfway through a "let's go Frankie" chant got started and was pretty strong and yet he was booed for the rest of the match afterwards. anyway Frankie won and then said he was "The Future" and left.
*WWE Cruiserweight Championship:
Paul London vs. Nunzio
-They shook to start, but London got the most support with some Nunzio chants in the middle. This was a really good match. London won with the London Calling(Shooting Star Press).
*T-Shirt TIME!:
Ok, I went with a friend. He got the Look into the eyes of the Deadman shirt(which is a really nice shirt). I got the shirt I'd wanted forEVER it seems. That's right I got the CAPTAIN CHARISMA T-shirt and I'm wearing it as I type this. IT IS AWESOME!
*Jobber Team B vs. MNM
-before the match even started, Jobber Team B came out to no music and when they entered the ring were greeted with chants of "Who are you?". MNM got a pop when they first came out, but were booed for the rest of the match pretty much. MNM beat down the jobbers and won with the snapshot.
*Harcore Holly vs. Simon Dean
-FYI, people love Hardcore Holly in Rochester. Remember when Holly was punished by losing to a jobber but some reported that he laughed about it after, that's because after he lost people chanted so much, that he got back into the ring and worked the fans a bit before he left. anyway, I went to the bathroom during this match, but it was still going on when I got back, Damn. Anyway, bobby won with an Alabama Slam with a cool finish.
SMACKDOWN!:
*Teddy came out before the pyro show. anyway JBL came out and the match for the #1 contendership between He and Taker was setup.
*Christian & OJ vs. Benoit and Booker
-Booker was over HUGE here, which isn't good cause I am a Christian Mark and as you read, I got the T-shirt(I marked the F out when he came out. This match was long, and it took them a while to find their groove. It was above average and I loved it, If only for Christian. Booker T. chants started about every 1-2 minutes during this one. Benoit made Jordan tap out while Christian just rolled in and out of the ring almost making the save, which I thought was great.
*L.O.D. (might as well call them that) squashed Jobber Team C, short and sweet.
*MNM backstage and Jilian Hall was introduced. Nitro and Mercury were Hilarious during this segment. Jilian Hall has this thing on her face. you could call it a mole but it really just looks like they found some gunk on the arena floor and glued it to her face.
*Rey and Eddie segment. Even though you knew Eddie was the father, the way Eddie read the story was comedy gold. Maybe if people payed attention to the way the angle was played off (ya know, the IMPORTANT part) they'd enjoy it more.
*Melina vs. Torrie:
This was the low point of the show, it was a divas match, what more do you want. Melina won.
*The Mexicools were mistaken as concession workers by some nerdy guy. This was a little funny, but was really set up for the next match.
* Regal vs. Scotty:
-This match got 5 seconds in before the Mexicools came out to a pop. It was a boring beatdown and that was pretty much it.
*JBL vs. Undertaker:
Maybe I'm a sucker for brawlers, but I liked this match. If you didn't like their previous match-ups, you probably won't like this one. But I liked their previous matches, so I thought it was great. Orton "Screwed" Taker with an RKO. Taker gave chase after the match and this is about where Smackdown! ended.
Dark Main Event:
*JBL said that he was from the only important new york town and wasn't from a back creek town like this and " You paid what, $42 for that seat and saw JBL win? worth every penny"
Teddy came out and said that we were promised a title match(commercials) and we would get it.
*Street Fight for The World Heavyweight Championship:
Batista vs. JBL:
wow, Batista's entrance was loud and cool. The match was like the previous with Taker maybe a bit shorter. Batista hit JBL with a chair and Batista Bomb for the win.
So, this show had a good undercard, good main event and I got the CAPTAIN CHARISMA shirt. This show was Awesome.
