Top notch. This and the Funhouse has been absolutely brilliant. P H O T O B U C K E TPAY PAY PAY PAY PAY PAYIf nothing else, we'd probably agree on wrestling a lot more now than we used to. I think that the ringwork has completely overtaken any kind of storytelling, and it's so frustrating to watch. I used to love the X-division and spotty wrestling, but in the last...idk....8 years or so, it's become all there is. Bray is by far the greatest thing on the show but it's been absolutely terrible in general. I'm sick of "This is awesome" and "fight forever" and all the millions of kick-outs after moves that should leave somebody dead. The best wrestling show I saw in the last few years was Lucha Underground, and idk if you watched it Kiss but you would love it. The wrestling was definitely over-the-top lucha, which might not be your thing, but they treated it like a TV show with over-the-top characters and filmed it as if all of these mythical things were real. There were even murders. It's a lot more like the kind of RPing you would try to do on ACW. Really ridiculous over-the-top stuff as it goes on. I wish there was a more mainstream show doing the same kinds of things, leaning further into the over-the-top story elements of wrestling and less on just the in-ring product.

It's funny because having become 30 with my life pretty tranquil, I've gone back into the habits that I used to enjoy when I was a lot younger. With Xbox Gamer Pass I've not enjoyed gaming this much since I was a teenager. Same with wrestling; while the WWE sucks and has done really for a while, AEW has had a very positive start (they're not perfect, but they're refreshing and I've enjoyed the three shows I've seen so far immensely) and NJPW has been great to follow in the last three or four years.
I know their styles aren't quite what you're looking for, but TNA has given some elements of that (partly thanks to our very own Su Yung) and NWA Powerrr or however many Rs it has is hilarious. Never thought NWA would ever be relevant ever again.
Wrestling has entered a new boom and it's great. Between WWE, Impact, NWA, NJPW, AEW, the whole British scene with Rev Pro and Evolve, AAA and CMLL, there's more choice than ever.

I do think both NXT and AEW are really good - I just want some variety. They're both putting on the same type of wrestling-heavy show, and while I often love NXT, the Takeovers have started to jump the shark with me with all of the kickouts. I do really like the Undisputed Era, and Matt Riddle, when they tone it down a bit. I never liked Balor, but I'm really intrigued by this heel turn. And I loved the segment with Jericho and Cody this week on AEW, they just need to give the guys more promo time. But it's nice seeing a non-WWE product on actual TV. I just miss some of the things going on in the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras, and nobody is doing anything like that now, including Raw/SD. I don't think I've ever been so bored with WWE, throughout all the bad years, the last couple years its just got nothing going on. I do have to check out NWA Power as I've heard good things.
