One would think I would be like the ultimate "non-sellout" has just finally sold out, but truth be told I am excited for Sting.
Yes, he is old. Yes he is not what he once was but this is historic and I will enjoy watching this unfold. If Vince was the brainchild behind this I would be very hesitant now. However, I think Trips is a big part of this as he has taken it upon himself to reach out toward talent past and talent from WCW and "do the right thing." What HHH did for the Warrior was amazing and won me over right there. I do not fear Sting being wasted, nor does Sting himself. The man deserves to have one last ride and to experience the only thing he never got to (though Starcade Vs. Hogan was pretty damn close). Now if Vince had his old finger prints over this I would fear we would get another "Invasion." I do hope that they bring the "mystery" & "darkness" back to the character as it has been gone so long. If his Titan Tron is any indication, I think I might get my wish.

I'm excited for this, watched the PPV last night and fairly marked out. Never got to see WCW really, and apart from a brief period in about 2004-05 never really liked TNA's production so this will be my first taste of proper Sting.

I'm excited for this, watched the PPV last night and fairly marked out. Never got to see WCW really, and apart from a brief period in about 2004-05 never really liked TNA's production so this will be my first taste of proper Sting. "Crow" Sting was at his best when he said nothing for over an entire year. The premise was that the nWo had invaded WCW and was kicking their ass and stealing all their talent. WCW had their back against the wall and of course people looked at Sting to help. At the start the nWo had tried to recruit him and he did not give an answer for several weeks. During this time the nWo made their own "fake" Sting and for a while people thought it was the real deal and fans began to chant "Sting sold out." This did not sit well with the real Sting and he became an elusive enigma who changed his colors to black and white and began to watch everything unfold from the rafters week after week. Finally Sting began to come down from the rafters and made his allegiance known by joining the nWo. Of course, it was a ruse and the next night on Nitro Sting launched his year long war against the nWo where he terrorized them at every point. This entire time Sting never said one word. This all transpired for a year and built one of WCW's memorable matches - Hollywood Hogan Vs. Sting. Sting won, but Hogan played his power and wouldn't let Sting go over clean ruining this monumental PPV. To make matters worse, the next week on Nitro they actually took the belt from Sting where he muttered his first words in over a year. After that, Sting lost his "darkness" and instead of reverting back to his more colorful appearance, he kept the crow look but talked and acted like his old self again. It just never worked well in my opinion. Still, this was one of the best storylines in wrestling ever and these 2 years obliterated WWF in the ratings, forcing Vince to make the attitude era.
