Ken, what do you think of Roman Reigns? I feel like you would love him. He has potential but doesn't have anything eye popping right now being a piece of the Shield. When I look at the guy I see Bryan Clark. They look almost identical.

Does not blink, not even once. Now that's a performance.

When I look at the guy I see Bryan Clark. They look almost identical. Look at that gorgeous face though. I'm excited to see what he does once the Shield breaks up. WWE missed an opportunity too by releasing Derrick Bateman/EC3. That guy has so much potential. He seems a lot more confident on the mic than a lot of people WWE has tried to push.

I said the exact same thing about Bateman when he did this on Sunday:

I saw Lockdown. It was ok. EC3 is great, but IMO the company just hasn't recovered since Hogan/Bischoff, and honestly maybe even since 2007. But I'll keep watching their shows and seeing if there's an improvement.
Roman Reigns is awesome. All of the Shield is honestly. I dunno if Roman is totally ready for a singles run, but I dunno...he's better than Batista ever was (though Batista is an amazing heel) and so I say why not give him a chance.
Also I always have seen potential in Husky Harris. He was awesome on NXT. I dunno why everybody underrated him so much. Probably because the New Nexus was such a fail. But on NXT Season 2 he was great and he's always had a lot of intensity and speed for his size.

I said the exact same thing about Bateman when he did this on Sunday: Like seriously WWE what the fuck were you thinking. Him and Fandango were awesome and the fact that they pretty much carried NXT for a year, despite nobody really watching, shows that they both could be great workers but instead they released Bateman and despite a chance for Fandango to get over with his music, they made him a jobber pretty much. YOU HAVE 5 HOURS A WEEK TO BUILD PEOPLE AND YOU DON'T WTF

YOU HAVE 5 HOURS A WEEK TO BUILD PEOPLE AND YOU DON'T WTF I used to catch shit here for my wrestling choices but that is why I like having another wrestling league in the mix for talent like EC3 to go to. TNA is not perfect and sometimes far from it but at least it gives options for wrestling fans. Nothing has changed in years, it has 1/3rd of the audience Raw has just like it did years ago, but props that they are still hanging on - especially in a market where wrestling has not had its huge popularity during most of their lifespan. I also contend now, as I did then, that you flip around both companies production budget and TNA would gain many fans and WWE would lose. People are always captivated by the glitz and glam of a high dollar production. I don't watch a lot of WWE so sorry for hijacking the WWE topic. My only viewership comes via youtube videos so I can at least catch up on what they are currently producing. They have had several things that have caught my eye over the last few years but the same thing always happens - the guys I like end up fizzling out and they put some generic guy like Orton, Batista at the top. Or someone like CM Punk ends up becoming a total tard and I can't support him. I totally get you with the building of stars issue. From my perspective, just when they are about to make their next break out star like Ryback or Punk or Bryan ... whomever, they take their foot off the gas with them and knock them down the ladder. It is like they get cold feet and are afraid to commit. That said, I still recommend Samual Shaw to everyone. He is so great. I am going to a TNA house show later this month and am bringing a sign that will read "Samual Shaw recommends "Hip to be Square." I hope he's there to see it. His theme is actually sung by Christie, which is a completely nice play by TNA.

Yeah I only really got back into wrestling around the Royal Rumble because I was so bored with the product. Honestly, TNA has had 12 years to do something but they constantly dropped the ball and it seems like its too late now, despite them having all that potential as well. I doubt they will go under, but they will never grow. That Samuel Shaw guy seems like a really good character and I hope he does well for them.
As for your comment on knocking people down, Chris Masters told a story in an interview about how he was told by someone on the roster that WWE purposely pushes you then knocks you down to see how you react to it. Pretty much if you go along with it, your career will end up better and if you complain, its worse. However, it seems like they often forget that they knocked someone down and pretty soon they are just jobbing in dark matches before the show. Its a shame.

Problem with TNA is they either seem to bring in WWE lot that are past it, or WWE lot that never made it. I'm not saying that the latter is a bad thing, because if they're able to tap the potential that the WWE fail to then it's always a good thing by TNA, but the way WWE knocks folk down, it just makes them seem like TNA can only pick up the rejects (with a small handful of guys still in their prime, like Christian and Angle etc).
It's obvs not true in the sense that TNA has easily made its own stars, but the product has never looked polished. Mebs cos I've grown up with just the WWE being an international/global federation, but a lot of the TNA cards seem to me to be like those one-off hashed up PPVs that came round every now and then after WCW and ECW died.
They need better production.

I actually think for the first time in a while though, WWE is pushing the exact right people.
There's some unfortunate casualties but right now the only real shame I can think of is Dolph Ziggler, who really should have gotten a chance.
but for the most part the current direction is great. Cena is the best he's ever been, because he transitioned into the veteran role and he's given some amazing matches the past couple months. If you haven't seen it his match with Cesaro was really great. Antonio Cesaro is a complete beast who is finally getting to show what he's capable of. The Shield and the Wyatts tore the house down at Elimination Chamber and Roman Reigns is one of the coolest pushes in ages, and really felt natural. They found gold in all three Shield members, and Bray Wyatt vs Daniel Bryan was another match of the year candidate.
Daniel Bryan is the next big face of the company under John Cena, and he's the most over face since Stone Cold Steve Austin. Batista is an amazing heel even if his ring work isn't great. His last heel run in 2010 was so sadly short lived, and now he's going to get to get some more potential into it. And they have Brock Lesnar around every once in a while. Also HHH and Steph are amazing heels, some of the best, and they finally are where they belong as well. The only shame is losing Punk, but to be honest he hasn't been the same since 2011, he clearly stopped trying a while ago.
So yeah, besides maybe Dolph Ziggler, I think WWE is actually giving the right direction for the most part.
It almost seems to me that TNA and WWE have switched places. Back when TNA got popular it was based on things like the X-division and the high quality of wrestling, when people complained about WWE not having enough of it. But when WWE has Cesaro, Shield, Wyatts, Cena, and Bryan and even Orton wrestling on a weekly basis they always find gold. The roster is incredibly solid this year. The ringwork in WWE is the best there is right now overall, and from what I've seen of TNA recently that hasn't been the case there.
Plus Wrestlemania this year seems amazing.

I haven't got around to watching TNA in a while, mainly because I'm not subscribed to Spike on my cable. However, judging by what I've been reading for the last two years, it seems like they're actually putting in an effort to turn the product around. MVP has always been a good wrestler, The Wolves will be a nice addition (especially since they're not going all hardcore no-sell strong style rararar on us), the Abyss/Joseph Park storyline played out awesomely, Samuel Shaw being Samuel Shaw... The list goes on and on.
WWE has an excellent roster at the moment, but they need to get away from putting emphasis on part-timers and push better talent. Bryan, Cesaro, Shield, Wyatts, Ziggler, and even guys like Kidd and Gabriel deserve to be in the spotlight. It may sound like the "smark goggles" are on, but they've proven that new talent works when given the opportunity to shine.

Had a good time at the TNA house show. They are starting this new thing with a preshow party where Zima Ion does his DJ bit at the top of the stage while several wrestlers come down and sign autographs. We got there a bit late and I went to go buy a program just as Shaw was coming out. After a long wait of waiting behind people who had no idea what they wanted to buy, I finally got my program and went back to Shaw. I was told he was no longer signing so that sucked. Anyway the matches were very good and I was very impressed by the wrestling of the Wolves, even though I was cheering for Zero and the Bromans. I have no doubt that Magnus will try to be lured to the WWE and after seeing him in person I am even more convinced they will make a play.
The list of wrestlers I have seen live is impressive with only Hulk Hogan that will forever elude me. I finally got to put Bubba Ray on that list as for some odd reason I never have seen him or Devon live. He really knows to work the crowd.
