Name: Senator Steve Phillips (D-IL)
Sex (M/F): M
Orientation (H/F): Heel
Age: 43
Height: 5'11
Weight: 195
Hometown: Washington D.C.
Wrestling Style: Mat Technician/Martial Arts
Entrance Music:
Ecstacy of Gold(PPV Title Shot)
Eye of the Tiger(PPV)
Hail to the Chief(ACW TV, Senatorial Stable)
Entrance:With the grand strains of Hail to the Chief playing, he steps into the enteranceway, and does a Nixon style Victory pose. He then crosses his arms rapidly as red, white, and blue tickertape shoots into the air from the enterance. The Senator then walks to the ring, shadowboxes in the corner, punching the turnbuckle a few times, and then strikes another Victory pose in the middle of the ring before usually addressing the audience.
Other: The Senator, Steve Phillips is a rather arrogant person in the ring, but also abides by a rigid code of honor, and refuses to back down to any fight, even when outmatched. The Senator feels to a certain point that he deserves to win matches and titles, but at the same time, even with a strong sense of entitlement, will also work extremely hard to accomplish his goals. He often will speak on in terms of lofty rhetoric until somone shuts his mouth, but at the same time, while being a cocky braggart, will give others their dues, if only not to make needless enemies. He prefers to take charge in any situation, and feels that he should be in charge of a stable. Even so, he makes the best of any given situation, and is not beyond working for someone if it will benifit him in the end. In the ring, he has an expansive moveset(to say the least), and prefers to target individual body parts to take advantage of foes, but can get goaded into needless brawling if distracted from his gameplan. He is a very skilled mat wrestler, and his submissions and pinning combinations have won many a match. The Senator prefers a very traditional wrestling style, refuses to use foriegn objects(but still fights dirty and will not hesitate to injure someone with his fists and feet), and shuns gimmick matches, but also has integrated a semi-shoot style, and constantly attempts to innovate or improve moves. He has a boxing and martial arts background(mainly Tae Kwan Do), and studies submission and grappling martial arts, he can and has made people close to twice his size tap out in shoot fights.
History:Former DCW co-owner, and multiple time champion, the Senator has a great deal of experience in the ring. The founder and commander in chief of the Senatorial Stable in the GFWWE, with CCBen(Angelo) and Atomic Kitsune, among others long time rival of Latino. See the Backstory-ACW Stables Part 4 for a closer look at the original Stable. Steve Phillips has a background in football, boxing, various martial arts (Tae Kwan Do, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, MMA), and working in politics.
Political History:After gaining a political science degree, managed to win several local posts, while also running DCW. Current U.S. Senator for Illinois, spends most of his time traveling between the ACW Arena and D.C. A political opportunist, shuns any actual party affiliation, and is a moderate who has no true stances on most issues(unlike myself in real life), and will do or say about anything to achieve re-election. Is a Democrat only to gain the Chicago vote. Uses his ACW paycheck to fund travel fees. Is said to use his staff a great deal in keeping up with the political scene and still managing to wrestle, does a good deal of his work in his personal office in the ACW Arena. Currently, the Senator is focusing on his political career at the detriment of his wrestling one, partially on the recommendations of his doctors who have said his rigourous schedule is unhealthy, and partially due to the rigorous travel and schedule of his political career. Recently defeated Dick Durbin in a heated primary race, and faced inept candidate Alan Keyes in the general election, soundly defeating him to keep his seat.
Note-Barack Obama and Dick Durbin are the current state senators for Illinois, for the sake of the ACW storyline, just assume that I beat Durbin in a heated primary race two terms back)
Physical Description: Lean build, short black hair, wears a nicely tailored suit when not engaged in competition, wears either silver boxing style shorts, black boxing style shorts with white stripes, or red, white, and blue boxing style shorts tapes wrists when fighting in the ring. Often wears one of his campaign shirts to the ring, usually a red shirt with "Steve Phillips for Senator in white text.
Catchphrases:
1:And that, my friend, is nothing but the truth!
2:When you mess with the best, you lose like the rest!
3:I am the newsmaker, headline breaker, office taker, world shaker, the toughest, roughest, most intelligent son of a gun to step inside this squared circle!
Titles Held from other E-feds: GFWWE Tag Titles
---Primary Finisher---
Filibuster: Deadlift Neck Spike Stalling Uranage/Judo style over the back slam, I have started to do do two different variations:
1. "Dead End" style Filibuster/Filibuster '05(Named after Tamon Honda's stalling German Suplex): Delivered with a longer stall, walking foward on the move after lifting the opponent, see the "Dead End" Filibuster animation, and when not using the extreme stall,
2. The normal version has become a bit more protected, not as much of a neck spike or a lift on the move
---Primary Striking Finisher---
Partisan Kick: The Senator's version of the Yakuza/Kenka Kick, as a finisher, I knee an opponent repeatedly in the solar plexus to get them bent over, bounce off the ropes, and blast the opponent in the side of the head with the Partisan Kick, but will also use a basic running Partisan Kick in other situations as a weardown move.
---Primary Submission Finisher---
Victory Lock II: Shoot Style Figure Four/Heel Hold Combination-A figure four leg lock set up by quickly crossing the opponent's legs, and stepping through, as opposed to spinning around, like Flair's. Once the figure four is applied, I wrench the heel and the toes around, putting torque on both the ankle and the big toe, while still putting pressure on the legs with the figure four. If the opponent somehow manages to turn the hold over, I sit back into the hold, re-reversing the pressure, turning it into a sort of a deathlock hold.
---Desparation Finisher---
Stranglehold Brainbuster: A cobra clutch style stranglehold linked into a sheer drop brainbuster, recently debuted on a tour in Japan in a match against Katsuhiko Nakajima.
---Desparation Submission Finisher---
Victory Lock III: Crossarm Cross STF-Often done out of a Dragon Screw, or even countered into on the ground. One of the main benifits of the VL III is that it is enourmously tough to break out of, locking in all four of the opponent's limbs, and applying pressure to the legs, back, and strangling the opponent all at once.
