Following the revelations of ACW's surprise purchase and it's following relocation to Las Vegas, Nevada has lead to all indicators pointing to former ACW World Heavyweight Champion Danny Mainer having taken up the helm of the legendary wrestling company. However, the Nevada native who resides in his hometown has been virtually silent since his retirement from wrestling in 2010 until now. Mainer made a public statement to a crowd of wrestling journalists that he'd summoned to his home yesterday and had this to say.
"Remember back in like 2008 when there was a running joke on the ACW shows that I was the lowest paid wrestler on the roster of all time even when I was International Champion earning like, £25,000 a year? That was no joke. I was actually working for peanuts for the majority of my ACW career. Then of course for my final year in ACW, I blackmailed Ginger into raising my salary to $400,000 a year.
Now while I appreciate that's a lot of money, to which I have my die-hard MainerMainiacs to thank for supporting me in the ring each and every week I simply could not afford ACW. As grateful as I am to the fanbase for allowing me to entertain them in exchange my livelihood the figures I earnt in my four year career were nowhere near enough to be able to purchase ACW. ACW was a multi-million dollar company even in it's weakest financial stages. I don't even think my lifetime spendings equate to even five million, nevermind the 8.5 I heard Hawthorne milked for it. So, no. It's not me. My guess personally is BK London after he got paid on a millions per match deal or Thunderkiss after he raped Hollywood of all the sponsorship and commercial deals he could.
Now get the fuck off my property before I take a pot-shot at some of your fat asses."
It was at this point that Mainer pulled out a pump action shotgun and sent the crowd of journalists fleeing from his gate as he fired a warning shot into the air. No charges were pressed.
More surprising than Mainer's rare public appearance however was his all new look in which he appeard at the public statement. Always the rocker, iconic for his long black beard and shoulder length hair it appeared he'd traded in his hair for something more practical with the short back and sides and had taken on a more clean cut look for 2011. As well as this, Mainer's fashion sense had also been replaced. The famous dressing gown look he used to sport for out-of-ACW interviews and his jeans and band t-shirt ACW look had been traded for a designer suit. (Click for image)
Needless to say, this quashed the idea in many people's minds that Mainer would be returning to the industry that made him famous. Inside sources believe that Mainer is returning to his roots as a collegiate-level actor and theatre student and will be appearing in Fox TV's hit show "The Sons of Anarchy" while others believe The King of Vegas will be heading to Hollywood to star in some cheap B-list movies to establish a portfolio. It's also confirmed that Mainer trains in Muay Thai kickboxing daily which has helped create his impeccable physique.
