After a shocking loss to Jason Freeman at 7 Deadly Sins, Danny Mainer as a result of stipulation in the contract for the match is forced to leave ACW and to retire from wrestling permanently. In a rare case of lightning striking twice, the two time International Champion, Crucible creator and of course World Heavyweight Champion Danny Mainer came into the offices of ACW.com and had this to say.
”I've always been a man who has believed in milking something for everything it's worth, I've always been a man who's tried to bleed out every drop of glory that I can so I can truly savour the moments. William Shakesman once said that brevity is the soul of wit so in other words I'm not going to waste your time with meaningless waffle or turn up on Monday with an oil rig and a big box of matches demanding a new contract like some people did. I lost the match. I'm gone now. That's it. I'm done. Finished. Finito. Fin. End. I won't be appearing on Monday Night Warfare to do a farewell speech. I also won't be making any surprise comebacks somewhere down the line to smite the evils of whoever is big money at the time. That's not my style. My time as not just an ACW megastar but as a wrestler are done. It's over now. I'm done. It's time to move on. All I have in this world are my balls and my word and I don't plan on breaking either.
Before I go though I'd like to take a moment to give a big thanks to all of my MainerManiacs around the world that have stood by me through every step of the way and even those that jumped on when it was cool. I'd also like to give one big, BIG thanks to the biggest MainerManiac of all, your new world champion Jason Freeman. You know how the song goes don't you champ? A Tout Le Monde. A Tous Mes Amis. Je Vois Aime. Je Droir Partir. These are the last words I'll ever speak and they'll set me free. Megadeth. Fitting because you have set me free to be with the woman I loved more than anything. Far from destroying my life you helped clear all the rubble so I could rebuild it in such a way that I can truly focus on what's important in life and I couldn't be more grateful to you. As much as I despise you and what you do I wish you luck as champion because with the target the size of yours on your back you're going to need it. Thanks again you guys, I love each and every single one of you. You're the best. Good night!”
With that said and done and Jason Freeman crowned the new world heavyweight champion one has to wonder what Jason will make of all this. No doubt his ego is going to inflate to intergalactic levels. More importantly though, what will become of Mainer? They say Wrestling retirements are never permanent but now that Mainer has a new life to start, a fiancé and a little girl to raise it seems like it's going to be that way. Join us next week on ACW.com when we look at the top ten matches of Danny Mainer's career.
