THE LONG AWAITED RETURN OF---Wait, what do you mean you didn’t even know it was gone? Well, either way, it’s…
So, yeah, what better thing to do seven days after a show then read feedback on it? I know all of you have been on the edge of your seats waiting, and now here it is! Anyways, of course I have a lot to say about this show, so let’s get right started!
Lord of the Wastelands (Taylor) – It’s Thunderkiss! He has a segment! Oh wait, it’s just Jon Taylor. Well, what the heck am I reading this for? Just kidding, Taylor’s been great lately. I did think it was funny that he said Thunderkiss disapparated though. I didn’t realize Taylor was a Harry Potter fan <_<. Anyways, Taylor was probably asking for trouble with that seg (Come on Taylor, admit it), but I really liked it actually. Not sure if Thunderkiss would feel the same way, but I thought it worked really well for the show as a whole. Opening up with the Thunderkiss swerve, and then it really just being Taylor – I could really see that giving somebody a ton of heat on the show, especially if it was at the beginning with the crowd hot. Taylor plays a great heel that’s easy to hate. I also thought that the suggestion that Thunderkiss had set up the hit and run himself was another good touch. Even though it’s obvious this isn’t the case, it’s interesting to hear TK accused. It also brings that particular mystery to the forefront to increase speculation for later in the show when it shall actually be announced. So yeah, I liked this one. Taylor also seemed more inspired than as of late, so Id assume it’s because he was insulting TK <_<.
Oh, Thank Heaven, Pt. II (Seth Chambers) – Youch at the ending of this one. I’ll say one thing. It definitely did a lot to develop the character. We haven’t actually seen this guy do anything in ACW yet, but it’s nice that he’s showing what the character is like before jumping right into the action. I don’t love segments involving people being killed and stuff like that, as I usually view it as over the top (though at least this guy wasn’t doing the killing, and didn’t happen on the ACW titantron *coughACEvanscough*.) But it really did show off his character in the end, and it’ll be interesting to see how a guy like that is going to be once he actually gets onto TV. Anyways though, excited to see the future stuff from Seth Chambers. Definitely could see him doing a lot here.
Scouting (Ryan Cole) – REALLY liked it. I honestly have no idea what exactly it is, but Cole’s segments have really been coming off well lately. I guess it’s just having expert influences such as myself and Jon Taylor ^_^. Anyways though, as I said I don’t know exactly what it is but Cole’s segments have been coming off better lately. I think maybe sometimes they came off awkward, and that awkwardness is leaving. Maybe becoming a bit more comfortable with the character, or maybe he slightly changed his character and it’s working for him. I don’t know, but I liked it.
It’s a Secret (TK) – Is it actually TK this time? Or Jon Taylor again?! You can’t trick me this time Taylor! Oh wait…it’s actually TK. Never mind then. Not sure what TK’s talking about with this Senatorial Stable thing though. That’s been gone. TK denied that he’s in Ascendancy, but I’d say that because Senator is in Ascendancy and TK has to be with Senator, that TK is in Ascendancy. As I said, TK, it’s nice to have you in the group and you’ll be a great addition! . Anyways, though, TK segments are pretty much always good. This one felt maybe a bit more rushed than usual? But meh, I liked it. It’s interesting to show that TK is clearly not 100%, and to explore and question his reasons for making his return.
Laron and Thiago are Victory (Thiago and Laron) – XD at the ending, with the armbar that Thiago may not know. He’s in for a surprise. XD. Anyways, I love the tag team of gloriousness. Somehow it works. Thiago is great in general, and Laron plays off of him well. It’s such a mismatch that it’s great. Too bad they have no tag teams to feud with, because they’d have some epic feuds. Ah well, what they’re doing is fine as it is.
Star Trek Returns (Claude) – Hey…that French guy’s
back! And in Star Trek or something <_< Well he was back last week but the star trek thing is new. Anyways, it was interesting but sort of confusing as to why this was going on. I get that it was supposed to be funny but still think that it was a strange time to be doing that. Maybe for fun it worked, but I think it would have come off better if it wasn’t so soon after the return. Claude has to re-establish himself and this really didn’t help him too much. But it WAS entertaining, so whatever. And the second captain’s log joke was better BTW.
Voice Above the Silent (Mainer) – I never liked the
Mainer/Charlotte storyline, with their past of sleeping together or whatever. I didn’t like Charlotte getting locked up for three days either. So I didn’t love the beginning. On the plus side, the interview was great. Mainer has been waiting for revenge for a long time and finally will be getting it. It’s especially interesting to read this in light of what happens later in the show. I don’t know if Mainer just tried harder knowing it was his last show with the character or if he just happened to get some good stuff, but I dunno. I liked all his stuff this show. My favorite line of this one was the one about unleashing himself mentally and the proceeding words about being doused in Freeman’s blood.
Enter Seraphim (CP) – I mean it was a fine promo, though I gotta be honest. I don’t love the Seraphim thing. I mean, a lot of people know how I am. I’ve never been a fan of storylines that step so far to the supernatural to go that far as CP having the dormant Seraphim inside of him or whatever. Then again, I can’t judge too harshly against something just because it’s not exactly to my tastes. There was nothing wrong with the segment. The storyline itself has been pretty good. I just didn’t love the recent twist that CP actually was Seraphim. I know CP is going to read this and then go crazy defending that part of the storyline. I need to make it clear though, that I’m just saying I just don’t love that kind of storyline. It’s been well done though for what it was. And with a guy like The Scorpion, I suppose a storyline can’t exactly be too normal. Lol.
Judas (TK/FSX) – I marked out hard to see FSX back as it was such a surprise. I loved this seg. I really think this feud could be amazing. I’m not sure how long it’s going to go, or how much it’s going to be focused on, but I really hope it gets a full feud because this segment was great. The history is there and the feud basically writes itself, FSX did a great job with his return seg and establishing his motives. I also loved the ending lines. With minds as creative as TK and FSX this is definitely what I’m most looking forward to in the future weeks. I can’t wait to see how this on develops, it should be awesome.
Danny Mainer’s farewell segment (Danny Mainer) – This segment was a perfect ending to the show, and a perfect ending to the story of Danny Mainer. This was just great. The fact that he was “Daniel Masterson” instead of Danny Mainer, and without the gold text. Danny Mainer’s character has come a long way, and finally seems to have atoned for his sins and may now be ready to settle down finally – after the sacrifice of his wrestling career. I think it was great how he got that run on the top as champ for a bit, and think that this was a great way to pull the trigger on the end of his story. I know Mainer will still be writing under a different character though, which is great. Yeah, though, I don’t know what else to say besides that I really loved this segment, and it was definitely a very emotional ending.
BUT THAT'S NOT ALL! Well, I mean that's all for feedback, but I have some more to say in the next post so stay tuned.
