"Biography"
Pre-ACW:
..::Coming Up::..
Jake Stevens was born in Long Island, New York, into a luxurious family. His parents always provided for him, and due to the success of his mom (A established singer), and his dad (A producer), Steele was a "tabloid" star since birth. Stevens was big on having the freshest kicks, and best clothes growing up, using his wealth to further exceed his popularity status in school, and his social life. Though even the riches couldn't make him one hundred percent happy. Unknown to any body in his family, or any of his friends, Stevens was a big wrestling fan, and at the age of 16, he traveled to Vegas to train at his dream wrestling center. The Vegas Vice Academy. A facility ran by International Wrestler, Danny Mainer, which was used as somewhat of a OVW type element, where the successful wrestlers were sent to Mainer's federation Las Vegas Pro Wrestling.
..::Learning The Techniques::..
Stevens enrolled and was put through strenuous work outs and even tougher matches, which pushed him to all of his limits. At the age of 17, Mainer felt that Stevens learned all he could, and sent him on his way, yet instead of to LVPW, he made him find his own federation, where he knew nothing of the elements. The message that Mainer tried to send to him didn't get through and Stevens became enraged, vowing to one day face Mainer and get his revenge.
..::Over The Eastern Sun::..
In his time after being denied a spot in his dream organization, Stevens bought a plane ticket to Japan, where he would wrestle for IWGP. He had the in-ring presence and mic skills to get him far, but he lacked one thing to make him big... a name. He had made a list of names to use, from J.R.S (a play on his intitials), "Money Man" Rasheem Abdul (a rich muslim man), and the name which was proposed to him by the bookers of the federation, Jake Metal. He wrestled for around 1 year, before his career really took off, and he won the Junior Heavyweight Champship, from Ryusuke Taguchi in what many call, the match that made Steven's career. He held the title for 4 months, before losing it to Wataru Inoue in a Loser Leaves IWGP match, after a masked man emerged from the crowd and attacked him, letting Inoue get the pin, and ending Steven's career in IWGP immediately.
..::L.V.P.W::..
After 2 years of traveling, and wrestling around the world, Stevens returned to America, and joined the one night return of Las Vegas Pro Wrestling, where the Main Event was done under Stevens newly acquired stage name after his final match in IWGP; Jake Steele, which was given to him as a show of respect for performing in matches that most American-trained wrestlers would be too scared to perform in. When the night came for Steele's match with Mainer, the two fought with their all, but the Master fell to the pupil, and Steele's American career was given the attention that it needed. One month later, Steele signed his contract with ACW, where he would then set out to become the biggest superstar they had ever came into contact with.
ACW History:
..::A Revolutionary Newcomer::..
Steele's arrival in ACW seemed to be a very interesting one. He steamrolled through people like Libertines, Jin, and Ross Lambert, showcasing his in-ring ability with each match but still the fans didn't pay him much attention. So in his attempt to bring in a more male oriented fanbase he brought in the seductive Destiny Mason as his valet. He also started to mold himself into a young, flashy star who at most times seemed to just not give a damn about anything but racking up wins. This new attitude instantly caused the critics to compare Steele with other newcomer Ryan Cooper, as they shared similar traits, mannerisms and even had a similar finishing manuever. Cooper would ultimately be the man that handed Steele his first loss in ACW. This loss would be followed by another at the hands of a returning Jason Freeman. And that loss would be followed by being eliminated in the Fallen Heroes Battle Royale by a masked Rattlesnake. Steele sensed his momentum dropping fast but soon he would get his chance to prove everyone wrong.
..::The Fallen Shall Soon Rise (Second Coming feud)::..
As a new month began, so did Steele's momentum. In the "Battle of the Jakes" Steele perhaps pulled off the biggest upset in ACW history, as he defeated former Light Heavyweight, Entertainment, Tag Team and World Heavyweight Champion Jake Cheng in his return match.
This victory not only impressed the superstars in the back, but it caught the attention of once International Champion Danny Mainer. The champ had already offered his in-ring services to Steele in return for a spot in the Fallen Heroes Battle Royale, but Steele was quick to turn it down. Mainer was for some reason persistent on letting bygones be bygones with Steele, coming up with weekly offers only for Steele to turn them down. Growing tired of hearing no's, Mainer finally revealed why he had been watching Steele so closely as of late. Entourage had just broken up and with his former friends all going their seperate ways Mainer made plans to build up a super group consisting of the best in ACW, with Steele being the first "recruit". Steele needed time to think but soon enough the two men formed a stable called The Maine Event. This team would quickly try to live up to it's name by taking on The Second Coming. Another stable consisting of Jon Taylor and Steele's rookie rival; Ryan Cooper, who had been mocking Steele ever since he gave him his first loss in April. This battle for recognition in ACW would culminate quickly as the four men fought in ACW's first ever "All or Nothing Double Title Match" with both the Entertainment and International Championships on the line. The match was a complete slug-fest with each of the title contenders having their own vendettas against the respective champs. Their rage wound up get the best of them as the ref called for the bell, and declared the match a tie.
..::Dynasty vs. Legacy (Freeman feud)::..
Steele would soon find out that his night was far from over. He would be confronted earlier in the night by his second loss in ACW - Jason Freeman. The two then went into a war of words with Steele slyly telling Freeman he had no problems with him, only to attack him directly after with a Right In Yo' Face. Freeman didn't take the knee to the face lightly as he got his revenge after the double title match, assisting Jake Cheng in sending a message to both members of The Maine Event - but mainly Jake Steele. On the next show, Steele sent out his valet Destiny Mason to give Freeman the message that Steele was sorry for attacking Freeman on the past show and that he was hospitalized with leg injuries. Freeman was hesistant on believing anything Destiny or Steele had to say and for once he was right. Steele's music began to play and Destiny Mason then quickly threw a bag of chinese powder into Freeman's eyes in true Mr. Fuji fashion. Steele would then run in from the crowd and attack Freeman yet again, making another statement as he stood over the former International Champion. It would then be announced that Freeman and Steele would face off at Spring Into Hell 2008. After an impressive bout, Steele would get his first PPV win after catching a determined Jason Freeman with a Victory Roll.
Steele had tied the match record between the two up, but Freeman wasn't done with him just yet. He wanted nothing more than to get a final shot at Steele, and he wanted it for Omega Effect Four. But Steele on the other hand was persistent on staying out of his way. So much so that Steele faked another major leg injury claiming that he broke it after a altercation with Dan White. Screaming that he could no longer compete, and he would surely miss Omega Effect IV. Freeman knew this was a blatant lie from the jump, as he spread the message through ACW that Steele was a fraud, challenging him to a match at Omega Effect IV but of course he got no response. This continued for weeks until the June 16th edition of Warfare, where Chairman Gingerdude set up a final chance match for Steele, either he would show or he would void his contract with ACW. Steele arrived to face new member of The Maine Event; James Murphy, where he turned his back on the fans by viciously attacking both Murphy and Jason Freeman post-match with the help of his new Hired Gun, The Reprobate. Thus cutting off all ties with Danny Mainer from that point on.
Steele would then go onto accept Freeman's past offer for a match at Omega Effect IV, mocking that now Freeman wouldn't show up to face him. Steele was proven very much wrong Freeman returned bandaged and all to take out Reprobate and Jake Steele, not expecting Reprobate to have his own henchmen going under the name of "International Incident" who ambushed Freeman and made him sign the OEIV contract in his own blood. Steele once again declared that Freeman wouldn't show his face at the PPV standing over his bloodied body. These set of attacks set off the unexpected return of a very pissed asian in the form of Mr. K.O. - Kudo Yasuda. Kudo revealed that he got Gingerdude to make him the Special Enforcer for the OEIV match to make sure no one would help Steele win. Though even with Mr. K.O. on Freeman's side, Steele proved to have more than a few tricks up his sleeve as he laid out Kudo with a Right In Yo' Face during the match and defeated Jason Freeman in his Omega Effect debut. Settling the score and landing himself a International Title shot for any time before the summer ended.
..::Ungrateful Greed::.. (Seven Deadly Sins feud)
As the month of July loomed ahead and the summer heat began to take it's toll, it would soon be found out that the lives of seven men would forever be changed. These seven men were the mix of ACW's past, present and future; Kudo Yasuda, Steve Phillips, Mr. Red, Jay Zero, A.C. Evans, and Scott Andrews. The next 3 weeks in the month of July would entail all of these men sinning in their own personal ways, each one not fully realizing that it was being done. Jake Steele even helped one member start his sinning, as he invited Scott Andrews to his newly built club: Club Indigo. Scott decided to party after getting a win over former rival, Kudo Yasuda and Steele figured that since his girlfriend; Jessie Young was out of town that he may as well go party. The two did and little did Scott know his sin was slowly starting.
After letting Scott "see the light" Steele began to stray away from him (but still taking his money as Scott visited Steele's club continuously from there on), and he began to notice a young up and comer in ACW who was known for his dark past, A.C. Evans. Steele wanted Evans to join him as a partner, and a associate. Steele even went as far to pull out a stack of dollar bills and flash it in front of Evans' face, which angered Evans to a point of no return and causing him to violently attack Steele. Though the attack didn't anger Steele, instead it intrigued him and made Evans seem as a even bigger asset to him. Steele was set to ask Evans yet again, but this time he knew that he needed back up, which led him to a unlikely source... Jay Zero. Zero was promised $500 to attack Evans if he denied Steele's offer again (with Steele giving him half of the money up front), and surely enough once he did... Zero was there. Zero ambushed Evans as planned, but when it came time for Steele to pay the other half, he claimed to have misplaced the money and said that Zero was going to have to accept half and that was gonna be that. But Zero was NOT going to let that slide, as he challenged Steele to a match on the next edition of Warfare, which ended in a No Contest due to Evans attacking both men.
On the next Meltdown, Chairman Gingerdude called Jake Steele, Jay Zero, A.C. Evans and the other 4 men down to the ring, telling them all that they had become sinners, and each one represented a certain deadly sin. So to "cleanse" their sins, Gingerdude decided to put all seven men inside of match, which would be for a World Heavyweight Title Shot Contract, and that match would be the 'Seven Deadly Sins Match' The first since 2005, where Wyvern took the win. Steele represented Greed, and though he agreed to being called such a deadly sin at that point in time, over the next few shows Steele began to see his own sins, realizing that maybe showing off his money so hard was a mistake. Nightmares struck him hard, and he even went as far to start becoming slightly religious. This set off his mistress, Destiny Mason, and she left him about 2 days before Seven Deadly Sins. Now in his eyes with no one in his way he decided to take a brand new attitude into the match, making it to final three and even eliminating OEIV rival Kudo Yasuda. Though after a brutal effort, Jay Zero took him out with two Zero Darkness', taking away his shot to be at the top in the process.
..::Golden Snake Way::.. (Cheng feud)
The beginning of August saw Steele lose a shot at the World Title, but soon everyone would find out that the rest of the month would be filled with more ups and downs than that. Steele saw it to be the perfect time to use his International Title shot, against the same man he had already defeated in his rookie month, Jake Cheng. As the weeks went on, Steele would begin to play mindgames with Cheng, claiming each time they encountered each other that he was "cashing in" his shot, but everytime it was found out to be false and just Steele playing tricks. Cheng would quickly grow tired of this, challenging Steele to a rap-off then shortly after a sneak attack, stealing and blowing up Steele's briefcase only to find out that Steele switched the real case with a replica at the last minute. This enraged Cheng even more and he wanted the match to be set in stone... so it was. Heatwave 2008, Steele/Cheng II was set. The match turned quickly from a display of skill to a violent battle, with Cheng pulling out Tables, Ladders and Chairs in a attempt to mock the match Steele performed in earlier that night. But just when it seemed Cheng's plan had backfired and Steele had him set up for a Right In Yo' Face, the lights cut out. When they returned someone or something knocked out Steele and gave Cheng the opportunity for the pin and the 3 count, retaining his title against his most determined challenge to date.
..::The Odd Trio::.. (Whitesnake & G-Unit feud)
While he had his hands full with A.C Evans and Jay Zero back in July, Steele also fell into a predicament with former Entertainment Champion, Thunder Train. After a spat in the ACW cafeteria, Steele challenged Train to a rap-off, and after it was declared a tie by Judge Jason Freeman, the two put their minor differences aside, to teach Freeman a lesson in giving ties.
This would be far from the last Steele/Train encounter, as the sudden departure of Thunderkiss left Train without anyone to tag with. Train originally chose former ACW superstar Leon Chase to be his tag partner but in a tragic accident, Chase burned himself cooking and was immediately sent to the hospital, leaving Train with no partner yet again. The time came for him to reveal who would be the replacement as the top contenders, G-Unit, and the Tag Champs, Whitesnake stood in the ring. Alongside Train was a masked man who he claimed to be Chase, despite the earlier reports. After much suspicion by Dan White, the masked man revealed himself to be not Leon Chase... but Jake Steele! It was him all along! They were now a unit, but they knew that all good things come in three's, and after Steele and Train saved XS3 from being ambushed by his Ex-Wife's killer, Hatchet, the three formed a stable called RSX3. With the momentum on their side, Steele and Train would then go onto Heatwave 2008 to defeat Whitesnake & G-Unit in a TLC Match to become ACW's 25th Tag Team Champions.
..::The Passion of Hughes::.. (Jonny Hughes feud, the first appearance of "The Nightmare")
Heatwave had passed and Steele's mission was cut in half, literally. He left with only one title over his shoulder and a goal to find out who robbed him of that second title. On the following Meltdown he called out this Mystery Man, vowing to end him once they came into contact. The entire night he searched and searched but after returning to the ring and calling him out one more time the lights went out yet again. Steele was taken out and the mystery was revealed to the shock of many in the crowd. Jonny Hughes stood before the Tag Team Champion with a kendo stick in his hand and a mission to purge ACW and rid the company of everyone who didn't deserve their spot. Hughes claimed Steele was one of those people despite him trying to clean up his act the month before. Hughes attacked Steele at every corner he turned and on unfateful night Hughes planted Steele onto bare concrete with a brainbuster. Steele never moved from it and Hughes left smiling. But this story was far from over. News reports began running stories of random incidents occuring to Hughes' clients and prized possessions. This caused Jonny Spade (Hughes' stablemate) to get Gingerdude to give him the night off. Steele returned that same night with a completely new look. Steele was pushed beyond the brink of no return and he wanted to take it all out on Hughes. So a match was made. Emperor of the Ring. A new concept named Barbed Wire Brutality and the winner had to leave ACW. After it was all said and done Steele came out the winner of the match but his spiral continued.
..::International Triangle::.. (Jay Zero, Henry McKaye feud)
But that spiral wasn't downwards for Steele. Instead it was straight to the top. On the special 'Night of Rematches' edition of Meltdown, Steele ran in during Jay Zero/Henry McKaye and shockingly cashed in what he claimed to be Yoko Satoshi's own 2007 Emperor of the Ring contract to become International Champion. Steele than declared himself the true Emperor of ACW and called Jay Zero a fluke and hair-obsessed choke artists. These allegations quickly lit a fire under Zero and sparked the interest of another member of the roster - Henry McKaye. McKaye declared Steele himself to be not worthy of his title and demanded he hand it over to OCW for the greater good. Steele quickly denied and launched an attack on McKaye, in the process now having two of ACW's dangerous men after him. Steele was tripped up the most by Zero, who fought Steele on all fronts, even defeating the returning FSX and taking the tag titles away from Train and Steele. Yet even after all of the ambushes and revenge brought down upon him, Steele still was cocky enough to come out the following show and declare that he no longer had any challengers for his title and that he would face no one at the upcoming Samhain PPV. This was quickly denied by both Stephan Russo and Jonathan Gingerdude, who said he infact had two - Jay Zero and Henry McKaye. The two would fight later in that night in a tag match. After it went to a no contest, Gingerdude announced that at Samhain it would be McKaye versus Steele... versus Zero - in a Ladder Match! Three of ACW's top competitors put it all on the line for the International Title but the crafty Steele retained and knew from that point on he could only go higher up the proverbial ladder.
..::In XS3 We Trust?::.. (Alex Richmond feud, start of 2nd Jonny Hughes feud & temporarily relinquishing the International Title)
After shutting up the critics, Steele saw himself as being on top of the International Division and on top of ACW. Little did he know, another man who was once very much like him would disagree with that belief very much so. That man being the returning Alex Richmond. Not even five seconds after making his return to a ACW arena, Richmond made it clear that he, like Hughes at one point, wanted to rid ACW of it's undeserving people and just like Hughes he wanted to start with International Champion - Jake Steele. He began to make allegations that Steele was a replica champion and stole everything he's ever accomplished in ACW. Even going as far as to steal Steele's title and offer to let Steele have a toy championship in place of his real one. This was all Steele could take from Richmond. That same night Steele and XS3 ambushed Richmond, making a statement that RSX3 was for real. Steele wouldn't be rid of his troubles for that month though - not by a longshot. The man who tried to end the career of Steele, Jonny Hughes, forged a contract to return to ACW using Gingerdude's signature and said all he wanted was a shot at Steele, one last shot.
That shot would never come. In the midst of having to fight names like Kudo Yasuda, and Jason Freeman in an Inferno Match, Steele had got caught up in some undisclosed issues. And ultimately he was arrested. Being locked up, Steele was forced to temporarily hand his title over to XS3 to defend for him at HelloGoodbye, which XS3 did successfully. Now the month is over and since that one phone call, no one had heard from Jake Steele.
..::Coldest Winter::.. (Jonny Hughes, Dan White, Scott Andrews, & Jason Freeman Hell in a Cell feud, start of Macho Man RDK feud)
December arrived and on the first show of the month Steele made a return in a big way. He held a press conference to address his sudden absence from HelloGoobye and why XS3 was forced to defend for him. He claimed it was due to a re-occurance of his leg injury from Omega Effect IV, but people seemed to doubt that logic pretty quick due to the facts. The first man to doubt it was Jason Freeman, who had just tapped out to Dan White at the former PPV and claimed that now he was ready for a International Title Shot. Steele happily gave him one but said to only have it come into effect if he could beat Thunder Train, which Freeman did. Meanwhile, more challengers began to rise as well. In the form of Dan White, Scott Andrews and long time rival Jonny Hughes. Scott wanted to taste gold, Dan wanted to become the first ever Britain International Champion and Jonny Hughes simply wanted revenge.
Weeks of challenges arose, and everyone stepped up to the plate. Scott Andrews defeated Dan White in a No. 1 Contenders Match. Hughes sent a message to Steele via a parking lot attack, and Dan White stayed persistent by trying to get under the skin of Steele. And in a short amount of time, Gingerdude grew tired of it. He decided that the five men all wanted a shot at Steele, and they would get it... in a Hell in a Cell! Steele was shocked to hear this, but what happened later that night was even more shocking, as after a Handicap Match, "The Macho Man" RDK returned! And he proclaimed that he would become a 5-Time International Champion by any means, and saying that Ginger put him into the Six Man Hell in a Cell. At Winter's Discontent, the last PPV of the year, Steele was bested by Dan White, losing his International Title.
..::Legend Thriller::.. (Macho Man RDK, Thunderkiss feud)
No longer holding the International Title, Jake Steele decided that he needed to make a statement to the entire roster. And on the "Auld Lang Syne" New Year's Special, he did just that. During the Omega Effect III rematch of Macho Man RDK and Thunderkiss, Jake Steele ran in with a steel chair and steel dreams. Two chairshots later, not only did he make his statement - but he also began a war. The three hugest ego's in ACW history engrossed ACW in what can be called one of the biggest games of one upmanship ever. Things also became personal quick, with all three men doing anything to get under each other's skin. This involved Steele smashing a trophy against Thunderkiss' head, attacking Kiss' manager JOYTOY, throwing RDK's brother Julien threw a school window and both Thunder Train and Jake Steele brutally attacking Thunderkiss backstage, with Steele almost punting Kiss' head off. And that was just Steele's end of the antics. The end of the month came along, and it was time for Ragnarok. A triple threat for the International Title was made (which Macho Man RDK had won earlier in the month) and after pinning Thunderkiss, Jake Steele picked up the victory... but he didn't pick up the title. There was a stipulation added to which that Jake Steele or Thunderkiss had to pin the champion to secure the victory, and since Steele pinned Kiss, he walked out empty handed.
Even though he was a winner, there was a man who saw Steele as a failure amongst a group of successful men... and that man's name was Jay Zero.
..::The World Is Mine::.. (2nd Jay Zero feud)
..::Fallen Strikes Back::.. (FSX feud)
..::Turn Of The Century::.. (XS3 feud, start of The Senator feud)
