With the decision not to implement a new moderator. With all due respect to our current moderator team, we need one of these young kids to take the burden.

I agree. I'm not just saying that cos I applied cos I know that there's people more suited for the job that did apply, but I really think we need people, or even just one person, that has shown that they are passionate about the current issues we are going through as an e-fed that can be a moderator, because I think that passion is what we need as a fed to get through this.

I have...
Compromise!
On the council of Senator, I have decided to post this and would first like to thank TK for his respectful disagreement thing as his phraseology kick started something in my mind.
Now I do not know the nature of the discussions that were concerned, but I voiced to Senator the possibility of a "junior administrator" or two. Now my thought behind this is much of the concern is that there is no visible mod presence on the board and this would seek to alleviate those concerns.
In AK's PM it said someone would be on to check once a day but I feel, as I'm sure many do that that isn't necessarily enough, we need someone that is around all the time or pretty much so like BK. Now what I suggest for this Jr. Adminstrator position is he would fit the role of BK in a way and alot what AK said she wanted in the first PM asking for mod inquiries. This person would be given access to the mod boards but not the calc's board so as to prevent the person from having to drop from competition etc. nor would he have a vote in moderator issues. His duties would be much like AK stated, collecting information on the fed from it's members, concerns, queries etc. while also bringing attention to the mod's any issues that needed them as a collective.
I don't see many downsides to this at first glance, it appeases those who want a more active presence while not hurting the roster. The only one I can see is the not seeing calc board if someone needs the result for a match but if Senator completes them in a timely fashion and sends out the results by then we're fine in that regards.
Thoughts?

I think that some very good points were raised here. I like CP's idea, and I think that us mods need to be responsive to all of you. I know the decision at this point has been that we stick with the current crew, but there's always room for debate and flexability. We'll be discussing these possiblities anew.
I'd also like to commend TK's tone here, when problems and frustrations are stated in a civil tone, it makes me want to help out that much more:)

I agree entirely with the idea of a junior mod or two.

Are these 'Junior Mods' what most boards title 'moderators'? I know we call our administrators 'moderators' so it is a bit confusing. In any case, I pretty much agree with what has been said.

I was with the mods when they had the whole chat to decide everything that was posted in the PM, and I agree on them not deciding a new mod. One of the things we discussed that wasn't quite in the PM was the need for a new mod. We agreed that while Jay Zero has pretty much called it quits being a moderator, at the moment there wasn't really a NEED for a new mod. There isn't much work that needs to be done that would really call for a new mod other than the contribution of ideas, in which most of you do anyway. We didn't want to fill a spot just to fill a spot, but better yet when the time calls for an actual new moderator - which I think will be quite soon, one will be called upon.
We looked through the options we had, the pros and cons for each one and we looked at the long term & short term prospect of each contender.
I think there will be a new mod implemented in the future, but just not in the near future. My prediction is possibly two or three months down the line.
