Character History:
Backstory (Kamau Zuberi):Marcus Curtis was born Kamau Zuberi in a small settlement in the African country Kenya and to his parents Abidemi and Nsia. He is the youngest of 3 brothers, he was raised in the settlement until two weeks before his fifth birthday, his parents wanted to flee the disease ridden country where thousands of people die everyday from not having water to drink and heard about a large goods ship heading for the promised land of America. Unfortunately during their stowing away Kamau's two older brothers were shot by port police, the eldest was killed instantly, the middle brother was luckily only shot in the leg and managed to get on board. He made a full recovery but the family had to mourn the loss of the eldest brother Ayodele rather than celebrate their escape from the civil war. Upon their arrival they found themselves in New Jersey, they travelled the state for months moving from town to town until they reached the state capital Trenton where the parents found jobs, after realising the difficulty they had getting jobs Kamau's parents decided to legally change the family name to Curtis as it sounded more American and would help their sons be accepted into American society.
Backstory: (Marcus Curtis)The newly named Marcus loved his new life in America and was a straight A student during his school years, Marcus was also an all-star athlete, an accomplished track runner and a varsity basketball player, he then heard about amateur wrestling and signed up for classes and quickly advanced in his weight class. Intent on a career in the business Marcus saw a fly poster for Dwight's Gym in ACW and enrolled 15 minutes after his graduation. He took to pro-wrestling very quickly and appeared to be a natural. After 6 months he had far surpassed expectations and was deemed ready for a call-up to the active roster but wasn't called up due to ACW Creative not having any ideas for him, ACW loaned him out to local Indy promotion to gain some more experience whilst creative came up with something for him. After a few months he got the phone call he wanted, and is set to debut on ACW Fallout very soon.
Fallout debut and feud with Jack Jefferson:After 3 weeks of vignette's Marcus Curtis finally debuted at the very first Fallout PPV. He faced off against Jeffrey Janson and picked up an impressive debut win. However after the match he was brutally assaulted by Jack Jefferson. The pair continued their rivalry the next week on Fallout with a tag team match. Jefferson teamed up with DNA and Curtis teamed with Beau James. DNA and Jefferson came out on top when DNA pinned Beau. The next week they faced off in a singles match in which Curtis came out on top, but was brutally assaulted afterwards by Jefferson, they faced off again two weeks later, this time Jefferson came out on top after using the ropes for leverage. The next week their rivalry went into overdrive when Jefferson attacked Curtis during a promo and ended up Fallaway Moonsault Slamming him through the table. Curtis however had the last laugh when he limped to ringside and cost Jefferson his match later that very evening.
Curtis returned from the Christmas break and his injury with a series of victories, the first against Hugh Daniels, he then followed that up with a hard fought victory over Jack Jefferson in a Last Man Standing match to win the TV Title. He then successfully defended his title the following week against Tito Barron. Curtis has had little contact with his rival since their hellacious match, and with Jefferson seemingly on his way to ACW could their rivalry have ended without the big blow off match?
