I'd like to request that anyone writing a match for this character read the entire profile first. A match is comprised of two developed characters participating in a psychological duel of style in a story-telling competition. If you're simply going to type out wrestlers doing moves to each other before one hits his finisher and ends it, then I'd rather someone else write it, or to simply not appear on the show.
Appearance/Info
Name: Jeff James
Age: 42
Location: Seattle, Washington
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 210 pounds
Theme: Sludge Factory by Allice In Chains
General Info/Bio:
A grizzled veteran, Jeff James has wrestled a little more than 25 years of his life. Rising from obscurity to superstardom in multiple federations, and industries, Jeff has seen more in his life than many men can hope to. Born on the streets, he has experienced the life of a wrestling champion, large corporation co-owner, big budget movie star, and, lastly, a burnout legend.
He begun wrestling in a broken-down ring in the backyard of an abandoned house. Competing with him a league of more athletically gifted peers, he suffered a long losing streak that lasted the better part of a year. It was during this time that he suffered his first injury, a fractured shoulder plate from being thrown by two men forcibly into the turnbuckle pole, and further aggravated from the remaining ten minutes of the match. Never discouraged, he learned a lesson from each loss, and picked up his first win at age 17. He did not suffer another loss until over half a decade later.
First joining a federation at age 19, he signed up to LVPW and quickly joined the ranks. It was at this time that he first established himself with his death-defying attitude. Never backing down from a challenge, he agreed to one of the most sadistic matches in the history of hardcore wrestling in LVPW's Haunted House. In this match, his arm caught on fire as a result of a botched maneuver involving gasoline. Although he suffered third-degree burns on his right arm that scar him to this day, he used his burning arm to deliver a lariat that won him the match. Undefeated in LVPW, the fed closed down as a result of conflict in the management ranks and Jeff was forgotten.
Running the gimmick Jeff 'The Shock' James, he entered the indy circuit with a high-flying style to take advantage of his small frame. He became a local sensation in Seattle, and although he never wore a belt, his name was synonymous with a sold out show. At the age of 22, he made it to the finals of a tournament made of the top local talents in Seattle, which is where he suffered his first concussion. Jeff attempted a corkscrew double backflip shooting star body press off a scaffolding onto his opponent, and missed by about five feet, splitting his head open all over the ground. Had medics not gathered around the scaffolding prior to the attempt, he probably would not have lived through the night.
After abandoning his pointless risktaking style to avoid further injuries, he focused his abilities more on technical wrestling and practical solutions to in-ring problems. This kept his record solid, though abandoning his high-flying tendencies and his eccentric 'The Shock' gimmick caused his draw to plummet, along with his pay. To keep himself financially afloat, he began a wrestling merchandise company with his best friend Mint E. Fresh called Gangsta Gangsta Incorporated. Over the course of a decade, the business grew to corporate status, and him and Mint E. were millionaires.
It was at this point in his mid-thirties that he joined GameFAQs Wrestling Federation. The stiff competition was new to him here and he suffered a long losing streak at the bottom of the card. However, he remained in the company as his corporate millionaire attitude caused him to draw heat from the crowd. Eventually he picked up pace and won the GWF Tag Team Championships alongside unsteady friend The Crystal Ninja.
Soon after they lost their titles, Jeff and Crystal Ninja formed Crystal Meth, a midcard stable involving the above centric two and various other rising stars. It was around this time that he joined East Coast Hardcore Wrestling and gained the Intercontinental Title there.
Crystal Meth eventually broke up and Jeff found himself commentating Friday Night Brawl shows, while reaching the top of ECHW and winning the World Championship there. The reign lasted a total of two months, and then he moved on to wrestle in GWF again, in the SND branch. He was an inch away from winning the World Championship there, but lost to Robert Garland in the end. Still at the top of his game, he continued wrestling far into the merge of the GWF brands. It was during this time period that Gangsta Gangsta Inc. produced the movie Superjeff, a superhero film about Jeff James' character. The movie was a box office smash hit and Jeff and Minty had a combined networth of about 300 million dollars.
Just when things couldn't get better, Jeff found himself involved in a terrorist plot that brought down the GWF headquarters. He was fired from his job, blacklisted from the industry, and sued for every penny he had. Abandoned by his best friend and everyone he knew, he slunk to rock bottom and slept on the streets for the first time in a quarter century.
A homeless burnt out wreck without a penny to his name, Jeff clung preciously to the one thing that belonged to him since the day of his birth and never left him - the streets of Seattle. For five years he panhandled all the money he could, and then used it to temporarily wash down his despair with alcohol. This continued for half a decade. The only things that kept him alive were the memory of what he once was, and the look in the eyes of anyone foolish enough to spit in his face.
Then, one day, a limo pulled up to him on the streets. It was a employee's representative of Alpha Pro Wrestling. He had spent a month trying to track Jeff down. Jeff sat up from the pool of his own vomit he was sleeping on, to find out that his dreams had come true once again. He was given another chance.
Moves/Style
In the beginning of a match, Jeff will try to bring the match to the ground as quickly as possible. If the opponent has a smaller frame, he will lock up and overpower him. If he has an equal frame, he will chain wrestle until the advantage is his (and it almost always is). If he has a larger frame, he will act evasively and deliver leg kicks until the opponent can be wrestled to the ground.
While on the ground, Jeff applies a variety of submissions:
Arm Bars
Knee Bars
Guillotine Chokes
Rear Chokes
Wristlocks
Indian Deathlocks
Chinlocks
Jeff's favorite thing to do is to be put in a submission and to find a way out of it. He will never reach for the ring ropes as he believes it's taking the easy way out. He would rather submit than to unfairly force the opponent to relinquish a position.
In a stand-up fight, Jeff's strategy is primarily defensive and evasive, while scanning for an opportunity. While he prefers wrestling to striking, he will occasionally deliver a head kick to shock his opponent, which have potentially knockout power.
While in a submissive position to his opponent, his main strategy is to take them down by the legs. If they are too bulky, he will flip up into a hurricarana. If the opponent is in a submissive position, he will put them in a hold or, if deemed necessary, deliver a moonsault to satisfy the audience. He will never stomp or strike a downed opponent, unless they have done the same to him or rope break an integral submission hold. In that case, he will strike and stomp at the opponents head until they are bleeding while they are down.
Jeff's maneuvers are often more practical than not. Because of this, his high-flying maneuvers are limited to few scenarios, and he prefers to slam an opponent from the ground, forcing them to land in an awkward position and lose their breath, rather than pick them up and slam them.
In the peak of a match, Jeff will use one of these flashy slams to prepare for a finisher:
Tiger Driver
Piledriver
Butterfly Suplex
Tornado DDT
Brainbuster DDT
His primary finisher is a Dragon Suplex pin, followed by a Full Nelson lock if the opponent kicks out. Once the opponent has exhausted his or her energy trying to escape his masterful Full Nelson, he will pick them up and Dragon Suplex them again. This finisher does not have a name, but is his most common match ender. In an important match, it will usually be two or three Dragon Supli before the match finishes. The maneuver is not usually escaped due to his experience in holding the opponent away from the ropes and keeping the full nelson attached, though it is possible if the opponent is highly skilled or lucky.
His secondary finisher is a very high speed running and diving lariat. He will either run from one corner of the ring to the other and deliver the move, or deliver it outside of the ring where there is more space for him to gain momentum. The opponent will usually be downed prior to the move, so that they are not given time to prepare a counter for the move. Because of this, they will usually only be kneeling or sitting up, sometimes in the wrong direction when he delivers the move. In these situations, Jeff will deliver the attack no less lethally, and usually still finish the match. On the off chance that the opponent is still laying down when he nears them, he will simply pin them.
His third finisher is rarely delivered, usually in a grudge match or a desperate finish that Jeff absolutely must win. He waits 'till the opponent is grounded, then climbs to the top rope. When the opponent rises, he leaps off with incredible thrust and delivers a knee to the face. He calls this move The End, because throughout its multiple decades of use, it has always finished the match.
In hardcore matches Jeff will usually innovate a finish involving weapons and high structures rather than using a conventional finisher.
Face/Heel
Jeff does not align himself with either side of the crowd's taste, as he believes that it would flaw an honest judgment of his character.
