I told Jake to tell me how to do the HTML for the site, then let me take over for him cause I would have that updated after pretty much every PPV and also adding little bits of information through the month, but he refused to do it. XHMTL & CSS are the easiest languages EVER, just google tutorials and you can learn it within a few days.

Yeah, I know you guys aren't attacking me about the site. During school, it was just a hassle for me to keep it updated 'constantly'. Dan, title wins ARE on the site. Rep, its more than just a quick c&p job unless we are talking about only doing the roster page once a month when the card comes out. The site is pretty damn up to date, even though I forgot to do the main page during the SiH updates, but that will come after the anniversary show. Hell, I could do weekly updates. And Dan, I'll work on getting some of those ACW Essentials up there too.

If only there were some way to backup the posts on these boards and move to a more powerful board with a portal (such as phpbb has). That way we could combine the site and forums into one package instead of two separate entities. I know the likelihood of this happening isn't great due to all of the nostalgia tied to those posts from years ago, however I just wanted to throw it out there.
The main problem (which has been brought up in this topic and in others) is that the site isn't really being utilized. I know for a fact I've probably visited it two or three times in my 3 years of hanging around the boards, and two of those times was when I first joined to find the guide.
As far as color schemes go, I think we should be thinking about a standardized one. It's hard to write for all of the color schemes someone may be using, and if they happen to be using the 'wrong' scheme text becomes unreadable.
I'll post some more thoughts later as I think of them.

Wouldn't the ACW logo need to be re-jigged if we have a site redesign?

Thats what usually happens Hughes, when the redesign of the site takes place the default board becomes sync'd with the site colours/designs.

The roster page would take longer, but in the end it would look awesome.

I'd really like to see a sleek, clean modern design for the boards. It's 2009, and more and more we look like a fed from the early days of interweb. I'm just using that to make my case sound better. All in all, the golden fox is a great scheme and I personally love it, however I long for something new and this is my idea.
I know 'make it modern' is kind of a broad term, but what I'm trying to say it use silver, grey (grey is NOT silver) and black tones to make this fed look like a sophisticated, modern fed. The banner for the theme could reflect this aswell, as the current banner for Golden Fox looks very old school.
Now, I personally don't know much about actually changing the look of the fed, but if it is able to be done I suggest making the rectangles more round on the corners and perhaps have each section float from one another than touching. I mean like ... how ACW PPV Event and Social Boards 'touch' so to say, and they could be disconnected from eachother and 'float' on their own. This may be impossible, but I'm just throwing out ideas.
I think mystery board, booking committee, acw awards or any other random additions throughout the year should go INTO one topic, like how we have SOCIAL or ACW TALK. We could have a "Misc. Boards" and jus tthrow them all in there so the front forum doesn't look too cluttered.
I suggest moving the General Wrestling topic into the Social Boards as a sub-board. In my opinion, to save space, we should take out match requests and just ask our members to request matches to the mod who runs the show OR to someone in the booking committee.
Banner Requests should go into the ACW Chat section, and Advice and Criticism should be taken out.
Why? Because I have an idea to take the Conflict Resolution board and turn it into a Conflicts and Criticism board, where ONE PLACE will serve two purposes. In all honesty, the Conflict Resolution board isn't used as much as it should, and the last post in the Criticism Board was in April, so putting them together saves space and energy. Finally you can go to ONE place and confront someone for their wrongdoing and give advice on someone's character.
The Autobiography board should be moved into the Wrestler's Profile section, and Fallout should be hidden until at which time it decides to make a triumphant return.
I'm trying to make the front look more compact and less cluttered with tons of boards which could be somehow moved into another more important board.

Good ideas, I think most of the actual informational threads are in some wrong areas. Like, the Getting Started in ACW guides actually don't have much to do with ACW, they're really e-fed advice, whereas ACW Facts which is on another board is a guide to ACW but it isn't in ACW Guides.
I think we should list ALL topics like that and classify them as "ACW Guide", "ACW Shows/Discussion", "OOC"
Of course, ACW Guide would have a ton on sub-categories but it would sure make everything run way more smooth for me.

Oh and someone needs to make a new Mega Star Alliance banner, the one in Jonny's profile looks to much like the Untouchables banner that was the redish color.

I say we get our best designers together and come up with a complete overhaul of the site. I think we should make the federation revolve around the site, it would make a cleaner more organized feel overall. A lot of the things on the site can be trimmed down, as some of the links don't seem to apply anymore (house shows, etc.).
Also, I've noticed the .php extension at the end of each of the site's pages. If in the future we can get a database up and running, that would make everything so much easier. Things like card changes and roster updates could be done in an instant, and backups and the like could be created.
It all starts with a good interface though. I think we did something like this a while back (asking for input on site changes that is), as I have a folder on my computer with a test design done in photoshop.
EDIT: Seems that I uploaded it also (http://www.geocities.com/gotejjeken/layout.jpg). That's obviously really old and not final in any way shape or form, however I thought I'd throw it back out there again since the 'new design' topic has come up once more.

I say we all come up with our own designs and put them together and use good elements of all of them.

My two cents:
I like the idea of a site design. I don't like the idea of a silver, grey and blue colour scheme.

I like the idea of a silver/black/grey design.
