Well thanks to Dave I looked up who Girls Aloud are. Now I was a huge Spice Girl fan as a kid (go ahead make your remarks), so I must say Spice Girls > Girls Aloud. They do remind me of PCD in a way, although Girls Aloud as a whole is definitely more talented. Although as far as girl groups go, Danity Kane was what I had (and still have) on my MP3 player.
Also, my local radio sucks. It's either Akon (or some other auto-tune crap) or Metallica / Tool every hour (the same songs mind you). Also, they play the oldest possible songs by an artist...for instance they are STILL playing 'wake me up inside' by Evanescence. I mean that song came out like 6 years ago now.
So yeah...I basically listen to everything. If it sucks I laugh and / or make fun of it then move on. There is no 'bad' music to me.

Maybe cos it's different here, but I have started listening to the radio more. That said, we have more nationalised general music stations.

When guys like you "roll" past me in your cars listening to music, I lol. Hard. BECAUSE YOUSE PRETTY FLY FOR A WHITE GUY. It's actually really fun to do that with songs people don't expect. TOO MANY DICKS ON THE DANCE FLOOR! Does anybody listen to radio anymore? I do in the morning because of the talk shows and the like. Here, they are hilarious and it's a good way to start the day. However, I NEVER listen to it in the afternoon because its always the same generic radio *Insert genre* I just can't listen to radio in the morning anymore. There are next to no interesting DJs left. They all moved to satellite. The only thing we have left are the Top 40 scum who giggle their way through the show and play Britney Spears.

Does anybody listen to radio anymore? Like Train I listen to it in the morning for Preston and Steve in the Morning, great morning show. Then I'll put my ipod on in my car in the afternoon, evenings, and weekends. I do listen to AM radio to, just ESPN radio and my local sports radio station. But unlike Train, I listen to radio in the afternoon sometimes for Pierre Robert, a very known name in the Radio DJ community. Because he does things his way really. He plays 3-4 songs from the same people in a block based on what the listeners request. But the thing I like is the Vinyl Cut where he plays songs off of vinyl records in the stations archives. Great music

We have a station around here that plays all the classic hits from the 70's 80's and 90's. This station never fails to makes me smile. Genre? Everything. Ive heard the station go from AC/DC to Spice Girls to Hootie and the Blowfish to Snoop to Brad Paisley to Black Sabbath. It never gets boring. Of all of those listed, there is only one I would listen too <___<

Phil Spector should be released from prison. Anyone who can produce music like this: Is not evil. Only logical conclusion is that the woman he killed was evil and he was saving us from her. In which case: Anyone who disagrees will have Spector sent round their house post release.

I just remembered this post, so I'm deconstructing 18-year-old XS3/Hitman's opinions. My opinions depend on your preference really. mY oPiNiOnS - Slayer sucks, it's the same fucking song over and over again. I agree with you on that one. Slayer is garbage. - Anthrax in the big four of thrash? No sir, that honor should go to Testament. I actually got to see Anthrax live two years ago, and they shred. Testament is still fucking great, so hoorah to both of them. - Marilyn Manson needs to get over himself. Sure? - While Tool is pretty good, the above is double for Maynard James Keenan. I've never listened to one full Tool song outside of "Schism" LOL - Black metal is the worst metal genre ever, the only good things to come out of it are old COB and Behemoth. Black metal is pretty shit. - While they helped me get started on metal and I find they make great music, Slipknot are not going to overtake Metallica as they have stated recently. Metallica and Slipknot used to be my religion when I was 18. Slipknot's last album was kind of a letdown. If an unenthusiastic handjob had a soundtrack, it would be "We Are Not Your Kind". Sure, you're happy to have it and it has its moments, but you wish it could have been so much more. - Kurt Cobain is not a fucking "martyr" or whatever he gets overrated as. And I'm sure a good majority will agree with me that Courtney Love should get hit by a bus. Kurt Cobain was a solid songwriter and personality, Nirvana had great tunes, and you're just sad because you will never meet his daughter. Shut up, young Marcus. - Garth Brooks is the only country singer worth mentioning. And I'm not saying that just because I grew up listening to him. I went to a Garth Brooks show two years ago and the only memory I had was almost having the cops called on my drunk neighbour at the restaurant we went out to after. Also, ever hear of Johnny Cash? - There's something about that "Bubbly" song that makes me like it. >_____> >__________________________> le epic memeface rawr xD - There's a ton of good metalcore out there (Killswitch Engage, Parkway Drive, Lamb of God, All That Remains); it's the 100,000 MySpace bands that put their clever little "emo twist" on it you gotta watch out for though. WHAT THE FUCK DOES "EMO TWIST" EVEN MEAN LOL To be honest though, all I listen to nowadays is a weird amalgamation of metalcore, indie, and hip-hop. Incidentally, 2009 was the year I discovered August Burns Red and Misery Signals, two of my all-time favourite bands. Seeing them and KSE live is always a treasure. Silent Planet cured my depression, even though it came back later. Also, Parkway Drive's last album was fucking abysmal. - Lastly, I don't care what Hunter/anyone says: I use the term alternative metal. IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMMIT! >_< Get a hobby, you fucking weirdo. yEaH

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE Here's a few unpopular ones. Hurrr my name is Mark and I have to talk about music to people on the internet durrrr - My guilty pleasure is St. Anger. It's some pretty catchy stuff. Don't get me wrong, it is by no means the best Metallica album ever. If another band did it, I wouldn't have a problem with it. Oddly enough, God Forbid wants to do a remake of St. Anger and call it "St. N****r". (<--- click for MetalSucks story) It's not good. At all. You are clouded by your love for Metallica, young Marcus. God Forbid is the shit, though. - As awesome as they are, it feels like a chore whenever I try and listen to an album version of an Opeth song. I like the music video/single versions because they're shorter. No offense to Opeth or any prog band but I have the attention span of an ant when it comes to that stuff. This one IS true for me. I can't get into songs over ten minutes long. Periphery's last album was ruined for me when they decided to put a SIXTEEN MINUTE SONG as an OPENER. Noooope. EDIT: Devin Townsend is the exception. - I know I have stated my opinion on black metal early on in this topic but now that I think about it, Satyricon isn't bad. Other than them, Behemoth and old COB, black metal pretty much gives metal a bad name. Even death metal contains gentlemen compared to the church-burning, mass-murdering, Nazi-worshipping idiots of black metal. Black metal is still shitty. The guitars sound like a box of angry buzzing bees. - I liked Bullet for My Valentine's first record. The second one sucked though. I felt fucking embarassed when I listened to "Forever and Always". BFMV is such an infuriating band. They have an incredible lead guitarist in Michael Paget and they won't even let him take a solo on any new songs. Not every song needs a solo, but compared to the bullshit that was "Gravity", it'd be a sound for sore ears. BFMV has become a Matt Tuck solo project. - I agree with Scott. Serj Tankian is awesome. I do love me some Serj. Fuck Daron Malakian and his shit vocals. - Lastly, another guilty pleasure of mine is Korn. You may feel free to discredit my musical tastes upon reading this sentence. Korn without Brian Welch sucked ass. Thank God he's back. Their last album was a roller coaster.

Now that's more cringy than a decade ago. Extreme music like death metal and hardcore gangster rap is bullshit, and the only people who listen to that stuff are individuals that grasp onto this extreme mentality based on their inability to find an identity. Fucking based.

Now that's more cringy than a decade ago. I couldn't think of a better way to end my post. It was either that or something sentimental like, "I'm glad you're still alive." But this is ACW, where the big boys play.
