History:Outside of the ring... Henry McKaye grew up the fourth of five children in Chicago,IL where his mother wrote for a local newspaper and his father sold business supplies to large corporations. By the time he was seven, Henry's mother took her children to Olympia, WA without her husband when she was offered a higher wage at a nearby paper. Originally, Henry's father was supposed to join them when his transfer request was approved, but after six months Henry's mother discovered that her husband had no intention of leaving Chicago and had already moved on without his family. So, Henry was furthered raised by his older brother and sisters until he moved out at the age of 21.
McKaye was a natural athlete in school and excelled in mat wrestling and track and field. He also wasn't a slouch in his schoolwork and graduated with honors. McKaye's strong points were philosophy and history, but he had a natural knack at mathematics and science to boot. For years, Henry kept his love for professional wrestling hidden deep under his textbooks until he dropped out of college 1 year from graduating to join a local school at the urges of his college sweetheart, Nicole, to go out and accomplish his dreams.
So, Henry was off to wrestling school and the ride didn't slow down from that point on. Henry spent the first three years of his career on the Western coast of the United States, then the next five years touring the continental US for promotions like IWA, NWA, and his native Chicago's Windy City Pro. From that point on, Henry became a sought after name by not just US promotions, but groups all over the world. Between that amount of time however, Henry married Nicole and the two had their first and only child, a little girl named Christiana Louise Constitution (Henry lost a bet) McKaye.
A once proud family man, Henry currently deals with the pains and struggles that accompany divorce. Two years ago while he was committed to the WXW promotion in Germany, his wife of five years filed for divorce siting that she couldn't deal with the strain of his career any longer.
In General... Henry McKaye is a 14 year veteran of the independent circuit and although he's billed from Olympia, WA, he hasn't spent much time there in the last six years. A modern day journeyman, McKaye's time outside of the United States has been divided between Germany, Italy, Japan, and Mexico. He is known for his grace, precision, and a trademark snap he adds to all of his moves that separate the two-counts from the threes. He's considered an icon on the independent circuit but has recently chosen to return to the United States to pick up where his career left off.
Henry picked up the nickname "God of War" while in Germany as part of a group called "The Eyes of Apocalypse". Around the same time, Henry picked up his facial tattoo and viscious disposition as opposed to his easy-going style that made him famous in the states. McKaye is calm, confident, and very cruel with his actions. Added to his high intelligence and natural talent and abilities, Henry has proven to be unstoppable in Europe.
Birth of a God
Henry McKaye signed on to a 2 week tour of Germany's WXW promotion to help his wife Nicole pay the bills and take care of their daughter Chrissy. Nicole grew worried and reminded Henry that he was getting on in age and should consider a back-up plan when he's no longer capable of wrestling. Henry simply kissed her goodbye and promised to be home soon. Upon entering WXW, Henry came face to face with adversity when the promoter of the shows and the fans treated him horribly in comparison with the non-American talent. In fact, it wasn't uncommon for Henry's car to be vandalized after the shows. Finally, Henry had had enough from the crowd when they openly mocked him as he was getting beaten down by WXW's resident monster Johann Kroenen in the middle of the ring. Henry snapped and before he realized what he was doing, he was climbing over the guardrail to attack the fans as security grabbed him and drug him to the back. Henry's punishment was a dock in pay and he was scheduled to face Johann Kroenen in relaxed rules matches for the rest of his stay in WXW.
His punisher, Kroenen took an interest in McKaye and offered him a place in his future dominance of the company, but Henry declined due to Kroenen's less than noble method of operations. So, to make an example, Kroenen did everything in his power to bloody and break Henry in the ring for a week straight, chastizing him for his stupidity in the process. However, when the match was over, Kroenen would offer Henry the same deal. Henry, sick of seeing a monster like Kroenen in power, signed an extension on his contract in WXW despite his wife's pleas and vowed to end Kroenen's reign of terror. In the process, he met a young girl from Kroenen's favorite dive the Cat Meow named Casper who tagged along despite Henry's discomfort with her.
Henry returned at Kroenen with a fire in his eye that hadn't been seen in years - despite the warnings of WXW referee and Kroenen henchmen Mal Mason. After chopping Kroenen down with a baseball bat, Henry challenged Kroenen to a match at WXW's supershow in his last match ever. Win, lose, or draw, Henry was leaving WXW and the wrestling business to return to America and his family. However, Henry soon found himself blackmailed into joining Kroenen after some trickery from Casper who was revealed to be in league with Kroenen from the very beginning. Now, serving as Kroenen's right-hand man, Henry was uncertain of what was going to happen next.
Omega Championship Wrestling
When Henry first entered ACW, his first American return since he left for Germany 2 years prior, he set his sights on a young man named AC Evans. McKaye approached Evans the same way Kroenen had approached him and offered to take the young upstart under his wing to help realize his full potential. After a few weeks of mystery, AC Evans joined Henry as they formed the Debasers the same night they joined Stephan Russo's OCW with BK London and Jake Cheng. However, the team's success never really took off and were forced to fight for their careers at Heatwave by order of Stephan Russo and BK London. Despite having a student/teacher relationship, Henry McKaye showed AC Evans just what kind of advantage 15 years experience was as he made Evans tap out to the Joy Division, thus ending Evans' ACW career.
With the depature of AC Evans, OCW was down one man and Stephan Russo wasn't thrilled with that. Once again, Russo turned to McKaye to recruit one of two men to be the fourth member. The first was a man who matched the group's ruthless nature, but was deemed reckless and noone knew if he would get along with the rest of the stable. The second was the man Russo pushed the hardest for - Jay Zero. In Zero, Russo saw the future of OCW... a young superstar who had it in him to one day take the Heavyweight title and rule with an iron fist - as well as the elimination of one of BK London's bigger threats. At first, Zero wasn't responsive to McKaye's offer, but in time, he came around... or so it seemed. After announcing to the world that he was with the group, Zero showed his true colors by revealing an ACW t-shirt and hitting the Zero Chance on McKaye. Zero went on to defeat OCW member Jake Cheng for the International title in a match that Russo had made earlier as an attempt to win him over. Call it fate or destiny, but McKaye and Russo would soon get an opportunity for revenge at Emperor of the Ring where McKaye and Zero were scheduled to face off for a spot in the finals. Russo ordered McKaye to eliminate Zero from the tournament as well as the company, but at the end of the day, youth got the victory over experience and Zero went on to win Emperor of the Ring.
Henry's last few months in ACW became turbulent as Henry became withdrawn with the promotion. Unknown to his teammates in OCW, Henry started a reconciliation program with his ex-wife but when the results never came... Henry became reluctant about every aspect in his life. At the same time, he continued his feud with Jay Zero and the man who took the International title from him, Jake Steele. The feud culminated in an astounding ladder match between the three men that Steel walked away victorious from. From that point on, OCW began crumbling and Henry was shown the door by BK London after the stables defeat.
