So, I am sorry to say, I lied to you all. In my farewell segment, I told the fictional ACW fans that they are greatest. That’s not true. You are all the greatest. It has been 1659 days since my first match here in ACW, my first efed, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend 1659 days than with the most random, crazy, wacky, cool people on the face of the Earth. I mean, I only know a handful of you by your real names, mostly just first names, but that never meant anything. Who knew you could have so much fun with strangers that span from New Hampshire to Canada to England to New Zealand to Genericland? (I just can’t resist anymore >_<)
I hadn’t originally planned to retire at Ragnarok, I wanted to wait until Seven Deadly Sins, like have my career make a full circle, but last September I started college and around October I realized I just didn’t have the time to write. I knew BK was going to retire at WD, so I didn’t want to do it then, so I decided to wait until Rag. And there we go.
Now, BK said when he joined ACW, he said he couldn’t write for shit. Now I don’t know where that puts me, but it doesn’t sound promising. I mean, I don’t think I actually wrote a segment until *looks it up* Heatwave. That is when I wrote my first segment. (http://alphacw.proboards34.com/index.cgi?board=PPV&action=display&thread=8679&page=1#97470) Up until then it was all BK. And ironically enough the segment was about….BK possibly losing his career due to a stipulation. Interesting. I was 14 then. I have a feeling that my creative writing would have improved with age, but ACW really helped me find my ‘voice.’ Shit, now I sound like my English professor.
After seeing person after person leave, reading things that people wrote OOC, from their hearts, saying they were gonna miss ACW *looks at Mark* I always wondered what I was going to say. Who would I thank? When would I write it? Last night, I was writing my farewell in ring segment, I started tearing up. That’s the one thing that I thought I wasn’t going to do when I wrote my final segment. If I can’t keep it in when Im writing in character, how am I going to do it out of character. Well let’s just say I didn’t
Alright, now that this is longer that most of my segments, I’ll wrap it up. Thank you. Everyone here now, or who was here that I had the pleasure of working with and meeting. You guys are the best. Seriously, the best.
Love,
Jake Schwartz
PS. Now that Im not writing don’t think that means anything is different. I’ll still be around here, and I’ll still be copying BK.
