After an immense wait, I present: the first new OFFICIAL KC entry in ages!
DNA, Thiago both on MMA card!
Armbar3:16: Guys, I just watched this the other night and wrote this review for my blog-
FAI presents: Grapplemania October 31, 2009
LW division Takuma Kawasaki def. Brent Cartwright by decision (boring fight, Cartwright had no takedown defense, but locked Kawasaki down whenever he ended up on his back, which was the whole fight)
MW division “The Fixer” Dmitar Milosevic def. “Gory” Goran Jankovich by head kick, R2, 3:42 (Awesome finish! Milosevic is the new Cro Cop!)
MW division “The Wrecker” Julian Jenkins def. Julihinio by decision (Not a bad fight, not a great fight, both guys threw lots of punches, split decision win for Jenkins)
HW division Thiago Gracie def. Don Lee by armbar, R1, 4:04 (Thiago by Armbar! Don Lee’s a traditional marital artist, and landed lots of flashy kicks and even a spin backfist, but Gracie prevailed in a short but sweet contest.)
HW division “Dangerous” Nicholas Alger def. Ryan Jackson by TKO, R3, 1:44 (Alger had a tough time with Jackson, a former amateur wrestler who has wrestled a few times in some indy feds. DNA was totally overpowered, but was clearly the more skilled of the two on the mat, and ended up stopping him after sprawling and pulling Jackson into his guard, hitting elbows until the ref ended it.)
RontheManTNA: MMA sucks, it’s nothing but sweaty guys rolling around on the ground with other sweaty guys, and you shouldn’t post that here on a pro wrestling board.
Chef_Hat: …
Emin3mCP: Ron, you suck! You probably want to sit in someone’s triangle choke!
Armbar3:16: If you don’t like it, don’t post in my topic or I’ll armbar you.
RontheManTNA: Internet tough guy, I bet you’re morbidly obese and can’t even get off your couch.
Madison: Looks like you’re projecting…
Cityfan: I bet someone could project a movie on Ron’s giant lardass.
Madison: RontheWoman probably is just having her period.
Cityfan: Fun fact: Ron’s the basis for ALL the Yo’Momma jokes ever told.
Madison: Ron only lives for two things: Big Macs and Whoppers.
RontheManTNA: You two are pathetic kids and I wont give you the pleasure of my response.
Madison: Except you just responded!
Armbar3:16: My topic! *armbars everyone who turned this into a warzone*

I am the man
RontheManTNA: It seems that some people around here forgot this fact of life.
Crash_Lightnin: All I forgot was how much of a total jerk you are.
Emin3mCP: Ron's just a total attention whore!
RontheManTNA: And Emin3m is just a noob and a drug abuser who can't even keep his head on straight long enough to make a readable post!
Jakealope: SCREEECH! Ron's a loser, always was, still is, always will be!
RontheManTNA: And you're just a pathetic waste of space on this board who can't drop a tired gimmick that was stupid on the day you debuted it.
Cityfan: Better than you always changing your own tired gimmicks on us and getting banned every other month.
TheConstituent: I'm getting really, really tired of this crap running this board. Calm down and stop the madness, already.
LordofHardcore: Ron's fine, it's the rest of you who are out of line.
AffirmativeLatino: i dunno i may be busy but i can't be bothered to read the board mcuh anymore because of ron getting worse. He was always bad but hes worse now than eh ever was before.
ExpectUnexpected: I agree with LoH, which isn't surprising. Too many people around here have a really thin skin.

SPECIAL BIZARRO EDITION Team Senator vs. Team...Obama?!?
TheConstituent: Yes, at the end of the year show, Senator Steve Phillips will be facing none other than President Barack Obama, as both manage a team of four indivuduals in a four on four elimination tornado tag match. There's apparently some arcane rules in this bout that nobody but the participants and referee(and ringside judges...what, ringside judges?!?) know about, this promises to be quite the political smackdown, if I do say so myself.

Senator to MMA?
TheConstituent: There's been numerous reports that Senator Steve Phillips has been training extensively as of late at the American Top Team training complex in Florida. Phillips categorically denied that he was training towards a specific goal, and was simply working out and finding an outlet for his frustrations within the political world. Knowing what we know about the guy, one should take that with a grain of salt.
There were some rumored sessions with Phillips actually sparring a bit with Kimbo Slice, but my favorite story involved Phillips sparring verbally with Jeff Monson, an "anarco-communist"(yeah, that's an oxymoron), with the two apparently raising their voices and nearly coming to blows.
TehHaRdCoRe1: d00dz iz mna 4 reel/
Armbar3:16: Thiago Gracie's armbar is the realist thing is the world! Cool news, thanx for posting
Crash_Lightnin: Wrestling is so much better than MMA, it's not even an argument.
IamUntouchable: WHEE IM DRUNKER THAN YOU ALL!!!!!!
Chef_Hat: ...
PredHeadCommander: Man, if you don't like MMA and wrestling, and boxing, and K-1, you're missing out, and I bet Senator is training for something.
Emin3mCP: Senator vs. Kimbo in the UFC? Kimbo did hit Houston Alexander with a Filibuster looking move...

Senator enraged with lack of OE match, Hall of Fame spot
TheConstituent: Senator Steve Phillips has been extremely vocal as of late over being left off the Omega Effect VI card by Chairman Samuel Hawthorne. Phillips has alleged that Hawthorne is leaving the multiple time match of the year winner out of the largest event of the year over a longstanding personal dispute. Additionally, the Senator alleged that Hawthorne actively campaigned to keep him out of the ACW Hall of Fame despite a record that he stated to "make the case for itself."
When questioned on the matter, the Chairman cited Phillips's inactivity over the last year and his lack of preparation for a high profile bout. Hawthorne added that while Phillips can be an invaluable backstage asset, that he would be better off letting his in-ring legacy rest in peace. As for the HoF dispute, he said that "Phillips will say what he wants to say, but our committee made their decision, and I will stand behind it, one hundred percent.
MaineMan: Not bad. Good to hear him stand up for himself against Hawthorne. I'd kick the chairman in the head if I were him.
GreatAwesomeJF: I think he's just complaining, I mean really, he's too old to really put on the type of match that he used to be able to, plus he'd take a spot away from the new talent, who ACW should always be trying to push, it's just not something they should do, and Hawthorne is making the right decision here for the company and the fans. I mean really, who wants to watch old men wrestle? >_> <_<
AffirmativeLatino: I think senators a bit crazy if he thinks he can jsut step into teh ring and fight at omega effect, but i think he has a point on the hof.
FalloutRules: I'm kinda the opposite here of Affirmative, Senator should get a match at OE, even if it's against a rookie, but I think we should really keep the HoF exclusive to the very very best, and he has no business trying to play games to get in there, it'd be like me trying to get ACW to bring Fallout back, even if I think they should, I'm not the one making the decisions.

Interview with DNAFalloutRules: Found an interview with THE MAN Nicholas Alger talking about MMA, Fallout, and other good stuff, courtesy of a combat sports site, the Roufus Report: (spoilerized since it's really long) Don Roufus: Welcome Roufus Regulars, I've got a great interview for you here, with Pride FC, shoot wrestling, and pro wrestling veteran, "Dangerous" Nicholas Alger. Glad to have you on, DNA.
Alger: Good to be here.
Roufus: Why don't you tell us what you've just done in these last two weeks?
Alger: Sure, I won two heavyweight titles, the World League MMA title, and then the Cage Circuit heavyweight title.
Roufus: That's a hellava accomplishment, most people fight every few months, let alone two weeks in a row, let alone two championship fights in a row, how'd you pull it off?
Alger: Conditioning and healthy living.
Roufus: You do have a unique background, having been a prospect for Pride FC, winning against Seiji Makabe and losing to Igor Vovchanchyn, you were still really green then, weren't you?
Alger: Yeah, Vovchanchyn was on another level, I won some Tae Kwan Do regional championships and trained with a couple of old catch wrestlers, thought I was pretty good. Wasn't good enough to beat a legend like Igor.
Roufus: So, after a few more fights on the local circuit, you went into pro wrestling, how'd that go?
Alger: Terribly.
Roufus: How so?
Alger: The dudes who trained me to begin with were full of crap, they told me that with my size that I couldn't use my sub game or my kicks, and made me a power fighter, told me the fans wouldn't pay to see some boring grappler if they didn't try to put the opponent through the mat. I stuck with it since I thought the money was in wrestling.
Roufus: And then you met with "Textbook" Tim Dwight, right?
Alger: Yeah, he found me wrestling in some high school gym show, told me that I was better than that, brought me onto ACW's Fallout show. I lost a lot there, but then he broke down my style, got me to look at it differently. He told me I could use my strengths, and worked with me to redo my game.
Roufus: Dwight was an amateur legend, I remember, but I can't think of anyone else who has been better at integrating crosstraining between different styles.
Alger: He got me to turn my game around, and I started winning, tried focusing on my subs too much, and then he directed me to work with my high kick, and even encouraged me to dip back into MMA now and then. Funny thing, the more I did both, the better I got at each, and won the Fallout Heavyweight Title, while I had a fight within a month's time.
Roufus: So then, you went back into MMA full time after the Fallout brand was dissolved, right?
Alger: Almost, I still try to give back to pro wrestling, it's a different challenge, love fighting either way, I had a few matches with Legends of Uber Entertainment a month or so ago, they're feeling the economic crunch, so I was glad to help out.
Roufus: And yet, you once were almost blacklisted from any fighting sports organization anywhere...
Alger: Uh, yeah, I struck a few refs, and people really frown on that in MMA, also got myself DQed more times than I can name in MMA. Better with that, went through some therapy and really, just got more mature over time.
Roufus: Good to hear you're not gonna kick another referee's lights out! So, what do you think of the current state of things in MMA and wrestling?
Alger: I'm trying my best to get a shot at the UFC's heavyweights, think there's nobody there who's got my combination of heavy strikes and submission game, I think I can make a good run at their title.
Roufus: Ambitious!
Alger: Yeah, but if you don't try, why fight? So yeah, pro wrestling, it's pretty stale in the "big feds" right now, ACW's holding on well enough, maybe I'll make a showing there if they'll have me back again part time.
Roufus: I bet you want to have a match with Thiago Gracie...
Alger: That little wannabe, yeah right! He's an insult to pro wrestlers and mixed martial artists, all he's got is a totally one dimensonal grappling game, and his family name. Well guess what, the Gracies are irrelevant to today's MMA industry, and they don't mean nothin' to the wrestling world!
Roufus: Strong words there!
Alger: Hey, Thiago Gracie is a goof, and I don't want to be grouped with him. He never trained a day in his life in anything but his precious Gracie Jiu Jitsu, and I bet he doesn't even know how to do anything but that damn armbar. He's no mixed martial artist, he's no pro wrestler, and it's a shame he's seen as either.
Roufus: But he is an ADCC champ...
Alger: Screw that! If I meet him, I'll kick his head off his shoulders, and I don't care if you print that all over the internet!
Roufus: Well, I think we'll be bringing this to a close, thanks for showing up, sharing your experiences, and your strong opinions, DNA.
Alger: Hey, you know how I am, I figure that if you're thinking it, might as well say it.
Roufus: If only the rest of the world shared that mindset, this is Don Roufus, signing out.
Armbar3:16: Alger can shut it until he actually does fight Thiago, he just knows he'll be murdered and his arm will be stuffed back down his big mouth if he ever does. PredHeadCommander: I beg to differ, DNA's a legend, I bet he'd win if they fought in a pro wrestling match, but I bet Thiago would take it in a pure grappling fight. Armbar3:16: And you're delusional! Thiago Gracie armbars everyone! HEETMAANN: They should tag together! TheConstituent: Really, I think that we should strategically analyze this match before we toss around the insults and ill informed statements. Thiago Gracie is a genius on the ground, there's no doubt on that, the fact that everyone knows what he's going to try to do just says how good his armbar really is. His top control game is on par with any top level MMA fighter's. His standup is dreadfully underrated, since it's only there to set up the armbar and avoid damage. On the other hand, DNA is far more well rounded, he prefers to use his huge 6'7 frame to back the opponent in the corner, and either maul them with his big kicks or break them down with his subs. He's not the best boxer around, and doesn't really have a developed GnP game, bu then again, neither does Gracie. In any case, I think that DNA is smart enough to stay out of Gracie's range, and it all comes down to Thiago's chin, and if he can weather the assault. My pick goes to Alger, but I'd not put any money on that. JuJuBeans: Holy wall of text! Jakealope: Screech! Constituent's post should have been spoiler boxed... GreatAwesomeJF: lol MMA sucks, and you can't admit it. Still love Thiago, though, he'll armbar everything. MaineMan: The only thing that sucks are your posts, and your mom. GreatAwesomeJF: Technically, that's two things, but you guys know I'm right, MMA is so boring compared to wrestling, it's not even funny. MaineMan: Yeah, because we all want to watch Jason Freeman cut promos when we could see someone get knocked straight out. GreatAwesomeJF: You're just jealous that Freeman is going to win the title. Emin3mCP: LOL. Ya, right. Stupid nugget. MaineMan: Too bad the current champ is ten times better! Ghostface5: Ugh, this is a stupid argument.

I really love the my fan character. He has this meanstreak, never quits an argument and seems to be obsessed with watching people get their ass kicked and just general violence. I actually identify with that because what Senator's done is recreate my real life personality (which differs greatly from my online persona) with perfect detail probably without even realizing it.

RAF, Senator settle feud
TheConstituent: Found this interview excerpt on bestdamnwrestlingnewssiteperiod:
Senator Phillips: I was glad to help out with the charity effort, aiding families of fallen troops from the US and the UK is a noble cause, and with Mr. Fleming representing ACW, we talked a bit about past things.
RAF: This was a dear cause for me, being a veteran of the Royal Air Force, as my father was, in fact, he named me with the full intentions that I would take to the skies, and cheeky as that was, that's just what I did.
Senator: We talked about our mutual respect for the troops, and a few other issues came up, namely, our squabbles over the last year or so.
RAF: I told Phillips that I figured he had a reason for it, and he said it was just business, so I told him then that it would just be business if I sent him to the back the next time it happened. Things got out of hand before, but I don't think they will in the future, outside of the usual funny stuff that happens in any big competitive match.
Senator: I was willing to do whatever it took to get Mr. Phenomenal to the title, and I do not regret what I did as a manager, although I would not wish to repeat those actions today. It is one thing for me to run my mouth, as I will unapologetically do, or even to play some underhanded games, which I will not preclude myself from on rare occasion, but I will draw the line with outright violence against our fine officials from here on out. I shall be directing my knockout shots towards competitors, instead of Mr. Fleming.
RAF: And it's a bloody good thing that he'll do that, or I might be forced to revert to my old training!

Two Senatorial News Features
TheConstituent: Two news pieces, first one from politicalnewsnow.com:
Steve Phillips is leaning towards declaring himself an independent? The latest question buzzing about the maverick Democrat from Illinois surrounds his party affiliation. Sources close to Phillips have let on that the senior Senator is seriously contemplating a break from the Democrats, citing his dissatisfaction with President Obama's economic policies and growing differences with the party leadership. Some pundits have said that Phillips is making the move for opportunistic reasons, with the current state of the Democratic party---
Ok, enough of that, you all get the idea. Figured that was pretty interesting, Senator's probably going to make even more enemies in Washington with this one. Item #2, from our old friend, thebestdamnwrestlingnewssiteperiod:
Steve Phillips is branching out from pro wrestling and politics, going back to his roots. On Friday morning, Phillips announced his intention to found a gym in Springfield, IL, named "The Phillips Academy of Fighting Arts." The PAFA will feature full fledged Boxing and Judo programs, and will also feature catch style wrestling lessons as well. Phillips, citing his past experience in Judo tournaments and Golden Gloves boxing, stated that he wished to create champions in both sports, and will use the gym for his own training when in state.
There's more to the story, most significantly that he'll bring Mr. Nobunaga(remember him?) in for help on the Judo side from time to time.
GreatAwesomeJF: Really boring news here, and why is this in the ACW section anyway?
Armbar3:16: Senators gym is bad, needs jiu-jitsu to be good.
TehHaRdCoRe1: diz iznt znn, y u pst polliticel newz/
Emin3mCP: Cool news on both parts, Senator doesn't get along with Obama anyway, I think he should follow that guy Mike Spears's example and challenge the President to a match in ACW. Second item was nice, I'd love to train there, especially since Senator used to be really good at Judo, and probably will have great coaches for it.
GreatAwesomeJF: I still don't see why this is in the ACW section, we're talking about politics and martial arts.
IamUntouchable: Shut up, GAJF.
GreatAwesomeJF: Come on, I didn't say anything bad to you!
TheConstituent: I think JF had a point, even if it was wrong. I created this topic talking about an ACW wrestler, and it's technically on topic due to that. But that's not enough, and I'll add that this is further worthwhile since with the political news, we might gain some insight on Senator's mindset, while with the gym, he's said he'll train there, so that directly impacts ACW happenings.
GreatAwesomeJF: Even if it's allowed, it doesn't mean it's worth making. I could make a topic about the opening match from an ACW show a year ago, and it'd be on topic, but it'd be really stupid, you know?
TheConstituent: We're going to make this an exchange about liberty vs. license, aren't we? Hmm, time to break out the ol' Edmund Burke, William F. Buckley, et al
FunSuperXtreme: Or we could talk about the awesomeness that is Pol Pot! Khmer Rouge and brutality FTW
