ITS BACK...from a ONE WEEK HIATUS. It's...Freeman Feedback
Sorry about none last week guys! Things are heating up in ACW, and Omega Effect is approaching rapidly! So here we go!
Fight to Oppose (CP/Senator) – Ah, I don’t believe there was any Chris Phenomenal last show, and now we’re right back to vintage CP which means using the wrong form of to/too/two in every promo! Feels great to be back to CP segments! Sorry, CP, I gotta mention it. I feel like more could have been done with this segment, it felt a bit rushed perhaps? But I like the whole picking partners ideas, and by having CP denied by Senator (Who seemed perhaps the obvious choice of a partner) it leaves the question of who CP WILL get, and builds intrigue for later on, so I do like the idea of doing the segment. It wasn’t bad, but it felt like it could have been more than what it was for some reason. I dunno.
We Got to Find a Way (VorteX/Wellington) – Interesting that Theodore Wellington is looking for a spot in, and here comes VorteX who was just handed a spot on a silver platter. If Wellington does manage to enter the match, this is good, because it already established some tension between people in the match. I didn’t feedback last week, so I’ll say right here I’m really happy VorteX is back and writing! Anyways, as for the Crucible stuff, the reason I like the possibility of setting up some tensions between the guys in the Crucible is because LAST year there was basically no feud for this match. It was Mainer…and somebody else, I forget who…building up the match by themselves. Mostly Mainer probably, and so it really didn’t feel like a very good match or feud, and seemed very tacked on. Buildup has started for this year, however, and hopefully it will continue and make it a very good addition to the Omega Effect card.
Had Enough (Buddy Ghee) – Some of Buddy’s segments are short, but this one seemed fine that short, as it got its point across well. I don’t remember when Ghee vs Wellington was confirmed for Omega Effect, but was it? It seems so from the talking here, so okay, I guess it was. Anyway, I like the two taking shots at the other’s backgrounds, since they are complete opposites in that respect. I also liked the buildup to what the stipulation will be in their match.
Back in the City (Criminal) – Hey it’s Criminal! Criminal seems to be living it up <_<. Anyways, it was a pretty decent segment because it showed what Criminal’s been up to, though not much was really said. That may have been the intention however. In any case it’s nice to see Criminal back and writing again, and I look forward to seeing what he will do in the future.
Money isn’t an Issue (Wellington) – Really liked this one. Wellington tries to deal with the Crucible problem the way he knows how…with money. But this time it doesn’t work. I like Wellington’s character, and agree with what I think CP said last week, that this is his best character. He’s had a million from Christopher Bryant to Logan Locke to Wayde Russeller/Ruseller/Ruseler/Russeler…and while some of those were pretty good, this is definitely his best. I don’t know if he’s just got better, or he feels more comfortable with the character, but I definitely like the stuff he’s doing now better than his previous runs. Wellington I guess isn’t the most ORIGINAL character, and reminds me a lot of Alex Richmond…but whatever, it works. Anyways so yeah, I like this angle of Wellington trying to get into the Crucible, and look forward to seeing what Wellington will eventually do to get in, assuming he does.
First Impressions are Lasting Impressions (TJ/CP) – I was really tired when I read the beginning of last week’s show, and I had continued the next day. TJ’s was the last I got to before I decided to go to sleep, and to be honest I actually remember little of his segment. So I remember something about this guy and the Yakuza or something but not exactly what’s going on. <_<. So yeah I was a bit confused, but that’s my fault. Anyways, I always like the stuff with TJ and CP, and I liked this segment as well, with both of them taking shots at one another. There isn’t too much to say, but it was a nice segment.
Ascension to a Higher Form (Scorpion) – Loved this thing of him losing and then going through this experience and “purifying” himself, making him even more powerful (in his mind at least) then before. And perhaps he is, since he is most likely even more dangerous now. I would love to see what would happen if Scorpion were to get a world title shot. He’s so good, I’m sure it will happen eventually. I love Scorpion’s segments, but would still love to see an actual feud from Scorpion. He had one with Kris for a while which was great but after that stopped with Kris leaving, he hasn’t had much else, and I hope he gets one soon because that would be extremely interesting. Not that his solo segments are getting old, as they aren’t they are great!!!. Im just saying I’d love to see a feud involving him.
Theodore Wellington Invitational (Theodore Wellington) – Wellington beating up the fan was a bit over the top IMO, but for the most part this was a great great segment. I think this gives Wellington some SERIOUS momentum going into the Entertainment title match next week. Was that match announced prior to this? I don’t remember, but it certainly is an interesting match. I loved Wellington snapping and just beating up his bodyguard, as well as the security guard and the bellkeeper. As I said I think it went far when he beat up the fan but I liked seeing that side of his personality. Again, I definitely think his stuff with Wellington is the best stuff he’s done, definitely better than Wayde. Yeah, so great segment, and love the momentum Wellington is gaining.
Let’s Make a Match (TJ) – Oh…looks like there was a miscommunication here. Since Wellington just said earlier what the match is next week, and now here we have TJ and his storyline is about not knowing who it will be <_<. Wellington saying the title match already kind of hurt this segment, though it’d be interesting otherwise…Ah well, I do like the idea of that match.
We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Book (Ryan Cole) – Weird to see all color gone from the Ryan Cole segment. I liked it better with the colors. I’m sure Senator loved it much more this way though, XD. Liked the idea of the segment, with the reading words from the dictionary, and liked the ending with the “remember” part. I’m assuming Cole is officially NOT in the match yet? As he said his door is always open to Hawthorne? I hope he gets in, as he’d be a great addition. Everybody has different opinions, and personally, I liked his segment format he was using before. But some people like it better with no colors and formatting. I dunno, as I said, just my personal opinion but I liked the color.
Radio, Radio, Radio (Criminal) – Again nice to see Criminal. I again, as I’ve said many times in previous feedbacks, recommend really proofreading the segments, as there are many notable spelling errors, but it’s not as bad now as it used to be, and I do think that Criminal was making numerous improvements before he went on hiatus, but now he is back. Hopefully those improvements will continue, and I like Criminal denying there being anything wrong with his method of winning the title in true heel fashion. Will be interesting to see him actually back in the arena.
Freak Streak (Hatley) – Hatley seems to be a pretty interesting character. I like the whole mask thing, and having to wear it because of a car accident. It adds a lot to the character, since sort of like with Kane, something like that has to give emotional scars as well as physical ones. So it’s hard to judge much about somebody from just two weeks that he’s been writing, but I can see good stuff coming from him, and he definitely interests me.
You Can Run, but you Can’t Hide (TK) – Oh man, it’s TK! I was really confused at first, just like last week…what the heck is going on with “Aiden Joseph” and the fishing boat. Is this some weird past story or happening now? Well it seems it’s happening now! I’m assuming TK went for some new life type of thing, and peace after leaving ACW? Well looks like that is over. I marked out like mad at the “Phillips Oil” thing. So it seems TK and Senator part 100 is about to resume. I cannot wait…at all. That is awesome. I literally cannot wait to see where this is going to go. TK and me have had an iffy relationship in the past, but I hope that things between us are cool right now…and I definitely want to say that if TK IS actually back I am very very happy to see him.
Revelations (Buddy Ghee) – Well, this segment had Wellington’s bodyguard attacking Ghee, but earlier we saw that Wellington beat up his bodyguard. Another slight miscommunication, but whatever. I don’t know what to think of the dog collar match. I was expecting a bit more, but I think I like it. It has potential to be really good, and can be brutal I suppose, without being something ridiculous like some huge cell type thing, as I see sometimes people who have been feuding for a short time do like cage matches and other type matches, and it’s like…you can’t just use that for little feuds. So I think a dog collar match works, considering they just began feuding a short while ago.
Reach Out and Take Fate (TJ/Danny Mainer) – A bit of a quick segment, but I don’t know why I didn’t think about TJ being Mainer’s partner. It seems obvious now and was clearly set up earlier. But I like that choice! Very interesting so far, and now it comes down to who CP picks. Definitely a good choice for Mainer’s partner, as TJ and CP have their history together.
Seeking a Partner in the Moonlight (CP/Scorpion) – I’m pretty sure CP wrote the beginning and I lol’d really hard at him saying Scorpion was gonna purify “Gentiles.” I didn’t realize Scorpion was Jewish! XD. Welcome to the club Scorpion. Besides that, this segment was pretty great. I liked CP trying to use the whole Lord thing and scripture to try to get Scorpion on his side, and Scorpion’s rejection. This was really a good segment and it was great how every time CP had something he thought would work, like the prophet thing, Scorpion had an answer for it. Scorpion and CP have met a couple of times. I’d love to see them meet in the ring.
Interrupting co-MOOOO (XS3) – Certainly a short segment <_< I do like the idea of XS3 having to impress Hawthorne though. XS3 just needs a good solid feud right now. We should see XS3 vs Jake Steele again! (Speaking of which where is Jake Steele <_<)
A New Outlook (VorteX) – That was a pretty awesome cover of Toxicity in that youtube video. I could actually see that working well as a theme song. Well it seems VorteX is crazier than before…but his segments never make sense anyways so what’s the difference?
I like the idea of crazy VorteX, though. Im sure soon enough Abel and everyone will be back to confuse me once more. VorteX was doing well before his break, so I hope he builds up some momentum and does well again now that he has returned.
How I Became a Wrestler Pt. 1 (Laron Xavier) – Xavier reminds me a lot of Jake Steele. I guess it’s the black talk <_<. Xavier writes in an interesting way, not in the standard Xavier: (dialogue) way but more of a first person narrative. It works though can get a bit confusing with the dialogue, descriptions, and thoughts, all being together in one paragraph, but he makes it work with the formatting. Just some backstory here, so there isn’t too much to say, since it is titled How I Became a Wrestler, however, Im assuming something involving wrestling will eventually happen. I suppose just have to wait and see where this is going.
The Price of Pride (Cole) – Still miss his old formatting. I liked this segment too, and I especially liked the part where he directs his comment to King, who had been listening at the door. That was pretty awesome. Again, I really like Ryan Cole’s character. It’s one that could work very well.
Anyways, pretty good show! I wonder where Jake Steele is <_<. Anyways, we finally made three pages. Sure there were some segment saves in there, but hey! Whatever. Nice to see TK back, and I think things could be looking pretty decent going into OE. I hope Mainer and CP heats their feud up huge because I want to see an awesome main event this year! Crucible is forming up well also.
