PEWA Report August 17, 2008
PredHeadCommander: Seeing Constituent mention PEWA in that other topic reminded me that nobody's kept up on the best kept secret in Philly as of late:)
Luke Powers is the champ again, and he's been strong, too, feuding with Irie the Intimidator the Cruisers came out of retirement to win the tag titles, and are feuding with the YoungGunz, which are XTreme Kid and Jeremy Wylde. Here's yesterday's show, too:
1. Hobo Harry def. KAWADA via interference by Tracy Finn at 12:41 (Great opener, with lots of moves traded back and forth, Hobo looked like he was half his age, hitting a Hobosault for a two count, and kicked out of some hefty chair shots. KAWADA looked like he was about to win after hitting several successive head kicks, when Tracy Finn came out of the crowd and blasted him with a cinder block.)
2. Skurai def. "The Marxist" Joseph Harpo with the Lobotomizer at 5:32 (Squash match, and Skurai's not only looking heavier, but his in ring work seems to be really off. Harpo was never accused of being a solid worker in the first place, either...)
3. P-Dogg, Skullface Killa and Rampage def. Brian Carnage, King Crusher Jones, and Kengo Tamura when P-Dogg used the Red Dogg on Tamura at 18:04 (This was rather chaotic, as one would expect. Carnage tried to isolate Rampage for a while, and put him in some rather unique submissions, but ended up being mercilessly triple teamed for a while. KKG couldn't take that for too long, and when the blazing barbed wire table got dragged out, he pulled a SCIMITAR out from under the ring, and cleaved the table in two, before hitting all three opponents with the hilt. There was a big finisher fest at the end, and Tamura was the unfortunate last recipient, going down to P-Dogg's Canadian Backbreaker DDT.)
4. Cruiser Khan def. Franchi$e with the Flyin' Fury at 8:31 (Short match, consisted of Khan going nuts at ringside while Franchi$e ran away from him. Eventually, the fans caught Franchi$e, and threw him over the guardrail, Khan deposited him in the ring, and hit his top rope headbutt to KO Franchi$e for the win)
5. Luke Powers, Cruiser Conrad and Cruiser Jacobs def. Jeremy Wylde, X Treme Kid and Bodybreaker Brown when Powers hit the Powersbomb on Brown at 15:04 (After Bodybreaker Brown betrayed his former teammate, Luke Powers, a month or so ago, for the shot at the PEWA title, he's aligned himself with the YoungGunz, and the three have tried to take down the big names of the company, decimating Jack Fury, Libertines, and Spider in brutal three on one assaults. In this match, the Cruisers decided to stand back, and let the champ go to work. And that he did, displaying his awesome strength by beating down all three opponents one at a time, until only Brown was viably left. The Bodybreaker tried for several cheapshots, but failed, and ate the definitive Powersbomb, nearly being put through the ring for the loss. All in all, a one sided, but entertaining show of force from the champ.)

Fallout Firings
FalloutRules: A lot of people were wondering if it was true, but Bestdamn confirmed the news.
The confirmed list of firings from the end of Friday's show has been confirmed by our sources. "Textbook" Tim Dwight, Bladeshadow, MASAKI, Eddie Torgo, Tony Givens, Zephyr. Fernando Rodriguez, Candyman, "Tower of Power" Steve KilPatrick, "Mauler" Matthew Murton, Craig Lewis, and the Everyman all have been given immediate termination notices on their contracts. Many fans were especially taken aback by the release of Dwight, who has been not only a Fallout, and an ACW mainstay, but has also been instrumental behind the scenes for a number of projects.
The Dwight Gym will no longer function under ACW or Fallout oversight or funding, but will continue to exist, and has planned a partnership with UK based Black County Pro Wrestling(BCPW), with both groups engaging in a talent swap and pooling of resources.
Peter Bannatyne has been quoted in stating that there will be more firings within the month, and that Fallout will be reshaped to fit ACW's needs, and the former reliance upon independant talent is a thing of the past.
PredHeadCommander: Wow. I couldn't believe Dwight's gone, or Blade...well, Blade's wacky enough, I suppose that doesn't surprise me as much. Don't like Bannatyne's quote very much, either, looks like they'll be trying to push the ACW talent more, and I hate the lack of the indy guys.
RontheManTNA: Fallout sux so bad that they have to let all their scrubs go! Pretty soon, it'll only be ACW guys.
JuJuBeans: Why'd they let Candyman go, IMO, he's World Title materiel.
IamUntouchable: No...just no. The Dwight Gym/BCPW partnership's pretty ace, though.
Ghostface5: As long as El Froggy's safe, I think Fallout will be ok in ACW.
FunSuperXtreme: They let Zephyr go! Where will the cripple go now? He gave his health for the company, and now he's gone!
ExpectUnexpected: Zephyr did nothing, even before he was injured. Looking at the rest of the people go, Dwight's too lazy anymore to really put on a decent match more than twice a year, Bladeshadow's a shell of his past self, Eddie Torgo's actually pretty good, Fernando Rodriguez is extremely overrated, and Steve KilPatrick was underrated since stupid people don't like big men in wrestling.
Richard_Parker11: Mroww. (I don't really like too many of the people who were fired, but Dwight will be missed)

PEWA Presents: Hardcore HauntingsPredHeadCommander: Thought you guys'd appreciate seeing the results, it just finished, and there's PEWA champs, some major happenings, and a gimmick that you should all find interesting. Match #1: Libertines Fink vs. Simba Mufasa: Costume Match Libertines def. Simba (Yeah, Libertines won, since he showed up in a cow suit. Simba showed up in his usual stereotyped African tribesman attire, and got DQed, weird way to start the show, even weirder, since Simba rarely appears in PEWA) Match #2: P-Dogg vs. Tracy Finn: Mask vs. Mask Staple Match P-Dogg def. Finn at 7:04 (Nasty gimmick match, point was to STAPLE a skull mask to the opponent's face, P-Dogg hit a few shots with the lead pipe, and did the deed) Match #3: Skurai vs. Kengo Tamura: Asian Horror Match Skurai def. Kengo at 8:42 with the Lobotomizer (Weird gimmick match, there were actual ring girls(get it?) walking around at ringside, dressed like that girl from the Ring, aside from that, usual hardcore rules. The match itself was bad. Skurai's just lazy, and Kengo couldn't drag a good match out of him. End came when Kengo missed a running back elbow, cornering himself, and Skurai hit the slowest corner shining wizard ever to win) Match #4: The Goodfellas vs. The Communist Internationale: PEWA Tag Titles Humberto Ortega def. Tony the Rod with the Shining Path at 24:35 (This was the changing of the guard. The Goodfellas had those belts for what seemed like years! Even better, it was a damn good match. Ortega is just awesome, and really does look like Che, while Harpo's the most improved wrestler of the year, lost weight, and can now take part in a good brawl without dragging several weapons into it. The Goodfellas were still great, and gave them a heck of a fight, but in the end, Ortega caught the Rod off guard for a moment, and hit his shining flip neckbreaker to win.) Match #5: King Crusher Jones, Hobo Harry, and Jeremy Wylde vs. Reaper, Cremator, and : House of Horrors Match Zombie Torak def. Harry at 15:27 with a modified Romero Special (The match itself took backseat to the debut of Zombie Torak. For the record, the House of Horrors was a closed cage with weapons on the walls, a fog machine at ringside and the match started with "blood shower" from the ceiling, Brood style. Reaper and Cremator entered, and destroyed all three opponents, while waiting for their third teammate to enter. Everyone in attendance and on the net figured it was Angelus, but to our horrified surprise, the newest PEWA debut, Zombie Torak appeared. The guy's almost as large as the deceased wrestler, pale skin, and wears ripped, bloodstained attire, including the old school Torak mask. Anyway, he enters, and slaps, yes, a Romero Special surfboard hold on Hobo Harry, proving that while PEWA has no taste, they don't lack in subtle humor. Guy then hit a MedEvil Driver on Wylde after the match, and even got one off on the obese Jones, which was admittedly impressive. The crowd wasn't sure what to think of the whole deal, although I think they crossed the line with this one. It reportedly took forever to clean up from the HoH match, although they did schedule the show earlier to make up for it.) Match #6: Irie the Intimidator vs. Luke Powers Irie def. Powers at 17:08 with the Twig Snapper (Ok, the main event, and another big title change. Irie's been really over with the PEWA crowd, just destroying all opponents. PEWA likes their hosses, really... The match itself wasn't really that special, Powers wasn't able to take advantage of most of his usual offence, and while Irie was on the top of his game, he was still slowing the pace down quite a bit. It wasn't horrible, and there were several impressive spots, most notably, when Powers managed to hit a vertical suplex on Irie, and when Irie connected with a diving splash to the outside from the apron, putting Powers through a table. In the end, Bodybreaker Brown interfered, got a Powersbomb for his efforts, Powers then tried the same on Irie, messed up his back, and got hit with the Twig Snapper for a decisive finish, and many boos.) Overall, not a bad show, certainly worth a second look on DVD, especially where you can skip or fast forward through the lame stuff, and catch the awesome tag match, the trainwreck that was House of Horrors, and at least see the main event for what it was.

Biff's group gets a name!!
FalloutRules: That's right, bestdamnwrestlingnewssiteperiod with the details:
Following a fan vote on the official Fallout website, Biff Taylor's group now will be entitled the "Resistance." The group, which was founded last Sunday, features Biff Taylor, current Openweight champion, Dangerous Nicholas Alger, former champ Stan H. Johnston, the Royles, OLYMPIA, and a large portion of the members of the roster who had not already joined with the Corporate Empire.
Excellent news! I wanna join the Resistance!
RontheManTNA: Fallout is boring.
Ghostface5: Your face is boring.
RontheManTNA: Why doesn't anyone get their posts deleted for flaming me? The mods are biased around here. I want my fair shot! I've done everything I can to help make this board a better place, and that's all I get in response? I did nothing wrong, and you all hate me because I want to make this a better place.
IamUntouchable: Hah, you're just mad because your favorite wrestler retired! Btw, you're a wanker, Ron.
Chef_Hat: ...
TehHaRdCoRe1: duud i wnaa joine teh rezistence
PredHeadCommander: I like these developments, the Corporate Empire was just looking too powerful, and Biff was clearly uncomfortable being Bannatyne's lacky. Hope Biff's back to being the hardcore laid back biker dude that he used to be before he founded the Corporate Club. And if he gets Pred to join the Resistance, they'll be unstoppable:)
Jakealope: Screeech! Ron's whining again!
RontheManTNA: See? This is exactly what I'm talking about! I just came here to post and to improve this place, and I get flamed by more than half the posters in the topic! They can go off topic, and attack me, and nothing happens! It's a sham.
FunSuperXtreme: Well, maybe if you didn't go off topic all the time, yourself, and didn't flame everyone who disagreed with you, maybe everyone else would stop doing that to you. Just a suggestion...>_>
RontheManTNA: [This message has been deleted by a moderator]
AtomicBess: Sorry, but I'm forced to close this topic. It's a shame, since there was some good Fallout discussion amidst the drama, but I can't let you keep doing this, Ron. The last post clearly "crossed the line," to use the slogan of your favorite fed, and I don't think it benefits this board to leave profane statements like that around. Finally, I really hate to do this again, but I'm going to close your account. Until you learn to play nice, and post with some degree of maturity, you're banned from these boards, again.

Um, yeah...Fallout's going to be interesting this week...TheConstituent: Found this press release earlier today, and figured that you guys might find it amusing, not as much as I did, though. www.randominternetnewssource.com/2-5-09/blagoinprowrestlingDisgraced Illinois Governor to Appear in the RingWritten by Dirk McConnel for randominternetnewssource February 5, 2009New York, NY: Former Illinois Governer Rod Blagojevich has made his way around New York City, appearing on every talk show from the View, to Letterman, from Rachel Maddow, to Glenn Beck, but that was not enough. Sources from Blagojevich's publicity agency have informed the media that he will accept an interview invitation from Alpha Championship Wrestling, and appear on the organization's weekend show, Fallout. ACW officials have claimed that not only will top interviewer Kevin Anderson speak to Blagojevich on the hour-long program, but fellow ACW reporter, Charlotte King will also speak with Illinois United States Senator, Steve Phillips. Senator Phillips, currently employed with the wrestling organization, has frequently stated his distaste of the former Governor, but the two are not likely to meet on-air.
