The History of Wyvern
=================[/color]
Wyvern, born the name Scott Stewart, in the city of Tacoma, Washington, has lived a good life by most standards. He was raised in a middle class family that worked hard for what they got, and took risks and great pains to get where they were. Rubbing off on an impressionable Scott, he took his family’s philosophy on working to heart. He began working out after watching professional wrestling on television at an early age.
Inspired by the icons and legends that came on the television each and every week, Scott took a gamble that would prove to be his best move, which was to pursue a career in the professional wrestling business. Training at a local wrestling school, Scott got the basic skills he needed to step into the ring. However, being an impatient person at the time, he rushed into the first opportunity he got his hands on, a contract with the now-defunct Extreme Wrestling League.
Even though he would end up leaving the EWL as a near-legend, he had a humble beginning. Starting out with a horrid gimmick as Cybervirus, he was the laughingstock of the promotion. Losing match after match, Scott started to lose hope. He then went on a short three month hiatus, where he re-debuted as the Postal Worker, a gimmick that didn’t net him any style points just like his previous gimmick. However, the muscle put on during his hiatus, along with his lessons learned in the ring, would make him a household name among fans of the promotion.
After a few matches under his belt as Postal Worker, Scott wasn’t doing too much better in the ring, although winning some matches did satisfy his confidence for the time being. Then, out of the blue, the rival Extreme Wrestling Alliance, which was run by a defect from EWL, came out to challenge the EWL to a cross-promotion tournament. Postal Worker was listed as one of the immediate write-offs in the 64-man tournament. Although he didn’t win the tournament, he defeated the defect Luke Bick and the current EWL Hardcore Champion at the time.
Having a little more pride for himself, Scott started wrestling at what some may call the apex of his career. During an EWL weekly show, he was shocked to have the EWL North American title conceded to him by Jitsu Yakamoto, who was supposed to defend his title versus him. Once again a write-off, Scott earned respect by defending the title as diligently and determined as if he had won it normally. Even after dropping the title, his confidence grew, and becoming furthermore dangerous when he made an alliance with Johnny Napalm, and became the New Blood Order, the rival stable of the all-powerful Watchmen, who possessed every major title at the time.
The feud between the two factions culminated at EWL’s “Capital Punishment” PPV, when the 2nd annual King of Hardcore tournament took place. Playing the ever-so-familiar role of underdog, Postal Worker put the promotion into a state of shock when he beat champion after champion (albeit non-title matches) to win the King of Hardcore title, defeating the previous King Amazing Aaron Arrogant in a classic hardcore match. Officially no longer an underdog, Scott’s reputation within the EWL grew to staggering heights.
Becoming a cornerstone member of the EWL, Scott became an elite member of the promotion, burning bridges and making new ones, when he won the EWL Tag Team Championship with the former King, Amazing Aaron Arrogant, as the team “Royalty”. Incensing Johnny Napalm, this led to the dissolution of the New Blood Order. With his new hardcore persona, Scott made a change into the darker and more methodical Wyvern, utilizing his re-emergence to it’s full potential, winning the EWL Hardcore Championship in the process.
However, Scott’s contract was expiring with the EWL, and no re-negotiations were made for his contract due to financial problems in the promotion, his time was soon up in the EWL. He decided he would go out in a blaze of glory, in a flaming cell match with his former stable-mate and friend Johnny Napalm. Although losing the match, Scott got a standing ovation and an emotional goodbye from Napalm.
A few weeks went by before the Extreme Wrestling League fell completely under, and soon the Zenith Wrestling Federation asked Scott to join. Unable to use the ring name Wyvern, or any of his older names, due to trademark issues, he adopted Terrato as his ring name and started in the ZWF. Rising quickly to the top, he accquired the ZWF World Heavyweight Championship in a mere five matches. Due to a nagging injury that occurred during a meat locker match with the enormous Wide Load, Scott soon lost the title and resigned from the ZWF, supposedly retiring for good.
During his retirement, Scott grew bored of the regular day hustle and bustle, even though he was well off and could afford to sit around. However, he saw the ACW live during the “Heatwave” PPV, and decided to make a return to the ring. Training to return to the ring made Scott rethink his wrestling approach, as traditionally he was a full-on hardcore wrestler, putting his life and limb into every match. Realizing this was the cause for his early retirement at the age of 25, he began training with different wrestlers of different disciplines.
Developing a more savvy technical style in the ring, Scott is now more aware of the threats within a ring, as well as more intelligent and resourceful when situations arise. Getting his former ring name back from the investing firm from EWL, Scott is now back as Wyvern, hoping he still has what it takes to be a true competitor. Just like the rest of his family, he continues to take risks and great pains to further himself.
Recently, he has made a splash in the ACW, and now looks to "redefine" the ACW with a new alliance, known as the New Breed. Consisting of Davey Marvel, Oliver Black, and himself, they have stablished themselves as a formidable force in the ACW, accentuated when Wyvern captured the Entertainment title.
After his landmark reign as Entertainment champion came to an end, Wyvern soon acquired the International Title, but not without a price, as a mystery assailant wreaked havoc on him, later to be revealed as Darius Silver. With this disadvantage upon him, he entered the Fallen Heroes Battle Royal on the defensive. However, as Darius revealed himself to be the assailant, the rest of the New Breed helped Wyvern put away his enemy. In fact, Wyvern managed to defy the odds yet again, as he eliminated Latino to become the first Fallen Heroes Battle Royal champion, and secured himself a World Title shot in the main event at Omega Effect.
At the biggest night of the year in 2005, Wyvern turned a new leaf in the ACW. However, few will contest that the change in Wyvern's demeanor was for the better. At Omega Effect, he dropped the decision to Yoko's seemingly unstoppable reign, following weeks of dealing with royalty rights with Stanton, which also led to Wyvern being stripped of the International Title. After the match, Wyvern snapped and attacked Yoko, and demolished the ACW World title in act of rage.
At this point, Wyvern became embroiled with venting his frustrations out on the ACW. He ravaged Tracy Finn as an example, which led to Wyvern being bested by "Dangerous" Nicholas Alger, who came to Finn's defense. Wyvern was then drawn into the seven-man main event at Seven Deadly Sins, entering as the sin "Greed", for his actions upon the inability to obtain the World Title. However, as Wyvern managed to win the match, it snapped him back to reality, and in an emotional interview at the end of the night, he walked out the ACW to sort things out.
However, as everyone knows with stories of this nature, this wasn't the end, as Wyvern came back on a one night deal to help out his former stablemate, Davey Marvel. However, this turned out to be nothing more than a set-up, as Wyvern was brutalized following the conclusion of the match by Marvel and the Untouchables. This put Wyvern out of action, even on his one night deal, for a few months with a severe concussion.
In late March, a strange new addition to the ACW roster was added when the Rabid Jackalope debuted. A masked identity, the crazed talent was notorious for his screeching, as well as his ability to play to the crowd. However, following the announcement of Wyvern coming back to the ACW at Omega Effect, the Jackalope interrupted Wyvern's opponent at Omega Effect, Rattlesnake, during an interview. Rattlesnake retorted by clobbering the Jackalope. However, this proved to be the opening Wyvern was looking for, as he showed up unexpectedly after Rattlesnake's match at Spring Into Hell, and unmasked himself, as the two raged on in a full-scale brawl.
Chance Emmerson and his cohort Umeko proved to be too much for Wyvern to handle at Heatwave. After an incident instigated by Wyvern's new tag partner Sean Nichols, a feud escalated with Chance and Wyvern, resulting in a bloody encounter, with Chance getting the upper hand over Wyvern, despite a valiant effort by Nichols to equalize the contest.
However, Nichols seemed to have a underlying agenda since meeting Wyvern around Omega Effect: to throw Wyvern off of his game. As a result, Wyvern has yet to score a big win in a must-win situation, and subsequently Wyvern has had trouble focusing. A need for allies led Wyvern to join the prestigious Senatorial Stable as well. The Meltdown before the Emperor of the Ring saw Wyvern had made a deal with Fallout to get Sean on Warfare and Meltdown, and due to the strained relationship of the ACW and Fallout entities, Nichols returned to Fallout, with a pending clause that would indenture Wyvern to Fallout. However Wyvern, realizing what has held him back in recent months is all due to Nichols, and has issued a challenge to Nichols to determine his fate and settle the score once and for all.
At ACW/Fallout's joint event "Crossover", Wyvern took Nichols to the limit, and emerged victorious. However, instead of ending their feud, they forged a friendship over their competitive nature. This lead to Wyvern joining forces with the Fallout incarnation of the Senatorial Stable to fend off against the Royales and their cronies. Nichols and Wyvern emerged as the sole survivors in a hard-fought contest.
Soon after, Wyvern got into an altercation with Brimstone, who was incensed about drawing with Wyvern in a previous contest. This led to a back-and-forth antagonizing, culminating at Bloody Valentine, where Wyvern emerged victorious.
In the beginning of March, Chance Emmerson and his mouthpiece Umeko, antagonized the Senatorial Stable's efforts to take his title. This brought out Wyvern and Senator, who both were primed for the title shot, not to mention proving that the Senatorial Stable was indeed a force to be reckoned with. However, it would end up being Senator who would go on to face Chance at Genocide, but Wyvern came to make sure that the veteran wasn't going at it alone. In fact, Wyvern eliminated Umeko, Chance's ace in the hole, to help Senator maintain a level playing field. Senator emerged victorious, bringing the title to the Senatorial Stable.
But Wyvern had a different idea. During a title match at Fallen Heroes, granted by Senator himself out of gratitude, Wyvern utilized devious maneuvers and a new alliance to bring the gold to his grasp. Forging an unholy trio with Alexander Starkweather and Umeko Saito, the trio vows to destroy ACW down to its foundation. And since adding Kudo Yasuda to the mix, the lethality of the alliance looks to destroy all that exists in ACW.
